  1. This is an old thread, but people are I am sure still having problems with this, like I was, all ther way in 2019, modding Oldrim (my 2014 MSI gaming laptop with GTX 770m can run Skyrim SSE at 45fps, which is acceptable. But it cant run modded SSE, and modded oldrim i.e. skyrim legendary edition, looks way better than unmodded SSE.) To the point, I am in the process of doing a new install and modded Skyrim LE/Oldrim (trying to get as stable as possible fully flushed out final modded skyrim that I will try not to change, as new quality mods for oldrim are released few and far between now days). During this process I can into this problem, where I had a functional game, no crashes (so far, fingers crossed) but none of the MCM menus for the mods were showing up. This has happened to me before. A rule of thumb that covers most of the issues/fixes 99% of problems, wait in game. Yup....press T and wait 24 hours. then check your MCM. That usually does it. Dont know why, but it does. If that doesnt work, follow this guide. AFTER you have checked to see is SKSE is set up properly (go into game, open up console commands and type: getskseversion, that will let you know if its installed, if it gives you what version and run times and all that jazz. Dont worry if you dont understand it, you dont need to, you just need to see its working, If its not working, you need to re-install SKSE. Gopher on youtube, as well as Gamer Poet, are the two most amazing tutorials for almost everything.) After skse, go into mod organizer, reinstall SkyUI, LOOT, make sure you dont have any conflicting mods (Mod organizer and MO2 are amazing for that) then relaunch the game, if still no, and you konw skse is good, just run around for 20 min, then in game wait (press T) for 24 hours. THey should show up. I dont know why, but this litearlly has worked every time I have done it, on my games and on helping friends out. Save yourself hours of trouble of trying to figure out why its not working and try it.
  2. Ok, here is the fix that worked for me, and I troubleshooted it on several different saves with the same issue multiple times. Before I get to the fix I want you to know that I tried everything I could find online, and then some. Everything, from re downloading skyrim to disabling all my mods. Everything. all console commands I could think of/look up, setting the quest stages, completing the quest, all of it while standing in front of either Serana, "the Mysterious Woman" at the time, who either wouldn't wake up, or if she did, she wouldn't talk to me. Here was the Fix DONT ENTER THE QUEST AREA i.e Dimhollow cave. just discover it. Now that your standing outside of the cave, in main land Skyrim, reset the quest (which will complete the quest for whatever reason. doesn't make sense. It should just reset quest awakening, but for some reason it completes awakening and starts Bloodline, it I tried it on 4 different saves. 2 of mine and 2 of my buddies who had the same problem, and it always completed awakening) Do this by instructions below open console commands resetquest dlc1vq01 Close console command You should get journal entry "completed Awakening....Started Bloodline" wait (in real life, not game time) a few seconds. Serana should appear near you like magic (like when an npc changes instances/locations/enters doorways) However that may not be the case. 2 of the four times (both times it was my save and not my friends....so who knows what the issue was there, because of the thousands of variables that are different between saves) Serana wouldnt be anywhere near me/in my location even after waiting in real life a few min, or in game time a few hours-24 hours. You can solve this issue one of two ways. Try #1, then #2. #1 always worked for me, I never tried #2, but theoretically it should work just fine. Open Console Command 1) player.moveto 02002b74 (this will bring you to Serana, which will reset serana to your location, BECAUSE in the questline that just started, AKA Bloodline, Serana is supposed to be following you. 10/10 times my character would just appear behind her,I am standing infront of a tree....suddenly serana is standing where I was standing, and now I am behind serana) 2) prid 02002b74 (this will bring Serana to you) Now everything is back to normal, and you should be able to talk to Serana. If you want to go into dimhollow cave, (there is a dragon shout in there, past Serana's location) feel free. If you want to just continue on the bloodline quest with Serana, go for it. Hope this helps you. I know it was hours of frustration for me.
  3. Word wall stopped working for me in Ustrangrav, the "turn etheral" word wall. You would go up to it and nothing would happen. reloaded the game....nothing. This happned one other time, during Bleek Falls Barrow, which was a main quest. So obviously this is a bug. Usually this happens to us modders, (especially NMM users) because we are constantly adding, deleting, changing, doing whatever to our game, which ends up in dead-end in scripts, and other "bloated" problems within our games. This has happened to me a few times, with different bugs. So before I freak out and start "un-modding" and pulling my hair out to try and figure out why my Skyrim Nirvana has been altered, I run a save cleaner on my game, in fact I do this every time I run into a problem/bug. I even do this for CTD problems (sometimes it solves it, sometimes it doesnt). Save cleaning is really effective as a first measure, especially if you have been running a "stable-ish" Skyrim (meaning you have been playing a while without problems) and are just now running into a bug. Like I said, if it fixes it, sweet! easy solution. If is doesnt....back to the skyrim modder's grind. Below is the link. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? Its easy to use, open, click on the options it gives you, STAY AWAY from the advanced options UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. THE ADVANCED OPTIONS WILL, I REPEAT WILL, BREAK YOUR GAME, if you dont know what you are doing/if you are not a modder/mod builder/creator, rather you are just a person who mod's skyrim (There is a difference). Now if that doesnt work, manually you might have to add it with console commands. The other thing is, more than likely, your modded skyrim is causing some sort of issue (I laugh when people say that their mods "DONT/CANNOT cause X? conflict"....no there is conflict in there somewhere, I promise you) which is preventing the execute in the game for the word wall to activate. Good Luck Power to the Gamers
