  1. Alithinos Talent: Voice acting. Level: Mid to High Notes: English is my second language so my accent won't sound as somebody who is a genuine English speaker, but I don't sound very bad.I'm an amateur music producer and have my own home recording studio,so I can produce clear, very good quality recordings,at better bit/khz than Audio CD quality if needed. Talent: Story writing. Level: High Notes: One of my best talents not only related to modding but generaly is story writing.I believe I can write good, interesting, original stories, but I need some time to get used to the process of turning a story to a working quest using the Creation Kit. Contact Information: Please send me a P.M.
  2. Haven't installed it yet to see for my own. So please answer me,isn't there a .exe file somewhere on your computer ? Presumably at steam/apps/common ?
  3. Yup so the pack does make the game look something better, but no more than what some mods made it. But it's reasonable to happen.Modders even managed to make Crysis look even better than it looked vanilla, and Crysis is still considered a game with excellent graphics. What I think would be best to do is to use both the texture pack and the mods, with the mods you like overriding/overwriting whatever they are about. I mean some things aren't yet changed by mods,so it would be a good idea to keep the official hd textures for them.
  4. In case anybody missed them, there are also video tutorials getting uploaded on youtube, yay!!
  5. They are on the Steam page. 4core processor 4gb ram ati hd4890 or better graphics card
  6. Creation Kit Wiki Site server is also down because it can't handle more requests!
  7. When somebody downloads it and installs it,please take some random screenshots of things in the game and post them in this thread. So others who haven't installed it yet can see how the new textures look like. :)
  8. Just check the front page of Steam. On the right side you will see the link to download the official texture pack. Post new screenshots with the texture pack in here please! :D Edit: Creation Kit Wiki is online too! CK Wiki
  9. And in how many hours will it be afternoon in the East USA ? I'm from Europe and I don't know, here it's already dark outside and Thursday comes to an end in about 4 hours.
  10. Very interesting points you have there, but you are forgeting some more: 1) New Journal Entries overwrite the old ones, and you can never read again an older entry after you moved to the next one. 2) Misc Quests have no Journal Entries at all. 3) Facial Animations used for the expression of NPC feelings are absolutely absent, but Oblivion had them. 4) Even with Havok Behaviour, the animations of the npcs are still quite clunky and unrealistic in comparison with other games like Mass Effect,Witcher,LA Noire,Crysis,Zelda,Mario... 5) For some weird reason you cant jump while running. 6) For some reason it seems sometimes you have to press the jump button somewhat before you want to jump,or else you fall down. 7) Physics ? What are they ? Shouldn't my horse fall if it walks in the air or at a 80 degrees cliff ? 8) You are not getting damage points from natural hazards when you should do,and while older games of the series had that interactivity. In Skyrim you can have a bath in lakes with boiling water near the Volcanic Area,or jump and stand right in the middle of those bowls with fire in Whiterun,or stay in the freezed water forever, without any damage at all.Neither fire or frost kills the player if it isn't casted by an npc, which is bad. 9) The pattern variety of the quest types is very limited,I'm guessing between 2 or 4. Most dominant is this pattern: (NPC X asks player to retrieve item/kill person A in dungeon Y and bring it back.)That's why it is repeatitive. 10) Most Dungeons doesn't make sense. You open a gate that had to be openned for 200 years, and then you find the room behind it full with lit candles and food that hasn't yet rot. 11) Characters repeat the same exact lines over and over every 4 seconds if you stand next to them,it gets annoying fast and it breaks immersion.
  11. I guess sometimes things just happen. I didn't cared what Origin does. The only thing I cared was to be able to play my game without hassles. But it seems some problems appear randomly. Don't know if it's a coincidence but Steam was all problems for me,while Origin worked straight forward from the beggining. I understand that you haven't lost your account but it happened to me. :( And I don't believe Steam's Support is good enough, because of an incident that I also refered to earlier. When I jumped to Windows 7 from XP,Steam wouldn't for some reason install on my computer. It installed at other computers with Windows 7,but wouldn't on mine. I was searching on Google for workarounds and tried anything I could find, until weeks passed. I contacted their support and they replied me with an automated message for another problem. I replied to them that my problem was different and didn't get an answer after that. I was anxious because Skyrim would come out and I wanted to install Steam again,at my Windows 7 pc. And actually I managed to solve my problem and make Steam install on my computer by writing some commands at the command prompt. But the guy who instructed me the solution wasn't from Steam Support, but a random Modder from this very site. After that I lost hope in Valve and Steam. Random dude on Nexus chat had the answer to my problem, yet their official survice didn't even recognized my problem and sent me a workaround for another problem... :ermm: And after that I realised my old account with DNF was gone... :verymad:
  12. Then please find me a reason why I couldn't log in to it and I got the error message that this account does not exist. Forgotten password? Forgotten email? Someone got a hold of your password and was spamming people with messages? I remember when FPSBannana had some really bad java scripts that lifted people's passwords. It got like 7 people on my friends list so its not out of the question. I don't know,I wish I did. :( The matter is that things like that shouldn't even be possible to happen. I shouldn't pay any consiquences because somebody wanted to attack a company I bought one of their products. I mean things like that make me think to turn to a console gamer some times. We PC gamers get so much screwed.
  13. Then please find me a reason why I couldn't log in to it and I got the error message that this account does not exist. Dont know how it got disappeared but it did. Oh,and regarding the technical issue with the commands I wrote,it wasn't Steam Support who told me the commands because they didn't even knew how to solve the glitches of their own product. It was a modder from the Nexus who told me how to program Steam so it can actually install itself on my computer.
  14. OK then let me tell you my problem about Steam. The first time I made an account for Steam was back in Summer 2011,because I had to,to make Duke Nukem Forever play on my pc. I played that game and didn't liked it,and stopped playing it after a while,so it was some months inactive until I was about to get Skyrim. I tried to log in to my account and it was deleted, and I couldn't take it back. I don't know why it was deleted since I didn't cheated in DNF or did anything against its EULA and general rules. So I made a new account, and when I tried to install DNF again,it wouldn't let me because it said the code was invalid, and I lost my Steam rights for the game I bought for 50 euros. If I want to play DNF again,I must download a crack, and I paid for it. Since that happened I don't want to register my games on Steam again. I don't find the reason. I bought an original copy of Skyrim,I'm not a pirate, but I just don't want Steam and because of that I used a crack so I can live in peace without having Steam giving me hassle and intruding me with promo of other games. Note that I'm not against Online DRM in general,I actually use Origin for Battlefield 3,and have no problems at all with it. The fact is that Steam isn't like Origin. Origin worked from the first day, nobody deleted my account on it,I didn't lost my game because of it,I didn't had a single bug experience with it,and it was fully translated on my language from day 1. Steam wouldn't install on my computer without having me to write commands on the command prompt,my account on it was deleted without stated reason or notification,I lost a game because of it,It was full of bugs showing up error messages, and it's half translated half not,and where it is translated, the spelling and grammar are so wrong you think it was a 5year old boy who translated it. I'm not a pirate or an anti-drm guy,I just don't like Steam because from the very little time I used it for DNF it just wouldn't stop making me furious with its bugs and weird things happening on it. So Yeah,I know you probably can't answer me on that because some people consider that not wanting to become a costumer of Vavle and use its products is a crime, but hey,I felt I had to tell it anyway.
  15. Ehm.. You mean there will be a link on this url ? Steam Tool Discussions Is it confirmed by Betheda ?
  16. Might sound silly but I really wonder and don't know. Will the Creation Kit be available for download at its own dedicated website like it happened with Oblivion,or is it going to be downloadable only from Steam as I saw some people saying ??? Is there an official announcement at all regarding where the CK will be available at?
  17. I have some ideas,I hope you like them enough to make them. I know they are many, and that you already have to many requests, but I hope you like some of my ideas too,so I can wish you will do something of all of this. :) 1) Polyhedron device Description: This will be a device made by Dwemers that have some special powers, and can be equipped by the player in one of his hands. It would be a usefull thing for a quest mod I want to make. Reference pics: http://www.act.sys.okayama-u.ac.jp/kouseigaku/research/ogawa_active%20polyhedron_06/active_polyhedron_english.files/image009.gif http://www.georgehart.com/cccg/Image71.jpg http://www.georgehart.com/cccg/Image72.jpg Notes: Please don't add any wires on it.As far as it is a complex design with many angles with a single metal material,it will be good. 2) Various Animals Description: I think it would be nice if some more animals where in Skyrim.I would be very happy if you could do any of the following. a) Owl http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/id/framlst/photo_htm/Images/h3750p2.jpg b) Orca Whale http://www.whale-images.com/images_/mig/killer-whale_breach.jpg c) Hedgehog http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MK5Re1OTElY/TbVoC66fYDI/AAAAAAAAC1Y/4ABj1u4Wh40/s640/albino-Hedgehog-Erinaceus-europaeus.jpg d) Wild Boar http://www.huntinginhungary.com/images/wildboar2.jpg 3) Janissari Tribal Armor Male & Female Description: A mythical armor the player gets to after completing a quest. These are traditional tribal costumes some people of the world wear once a year during a festival.I find them weird enough to fit Skyrim's world. Pics: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3588/3326507572_7dc44aea76.jpg http://www.thea.gr/userfiles/194c4309-2317-4c97-838a-0598e924c377/Picture-2.jpg http://www.perifereianews.com/Images/Large/A-5330-1326456073.jpg 4) Carnival Spirit Armor Description: This is yet another traditional costume. It resembles the "Carnival Spirits". These beings according to some legend are supposed to live up on mountains shepparding, away from humans. But once a year come down to people's towns and make noise with their bells and call them to start dancing and drinking and do things for fun with no remorse,as long as the carnival lasts. Their weird look could make it ideal for an armor/costume some Skyrim tribe wears like the Foresworn,or if you use some of your imagination too,you could make the actual spirits themselves based on what you see. I think it would be funny if the player could wear this armor and combine it with other mods like spells that make npcs dance,to actually roleplay the spirit. :P http://fe-mail.gr/media/Image/travel_vacations/2008/02/carnavali_gr/amfisa_naousa.jpg http://skyroson.gr/skyros/images/stories/kydounatoi.jpg.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zkeF9_ohDd8/TyRP90cLmcI/AAAAAAAAAbw/FNFKAsnwD6I/s1600/%CF%83%CE%BA%CF%8D%CF%81%CE%BF%CF%82.jpg I hope you like any of my ideas. :)
  18. If you would tell as WHAT file is it that you are missing, and what mods are the ones you downloaded, perhaps we could find out a solution for you.
  19. Wow you have no clue do you? There were mods years before DLC was ever heard of or any publisher used the acronym. Infact if you get down into it DLC is a concept that publishers stole from modders. Instead of free they charge money for it because they are greedy bastards. But DLC has the advantage of being 3/4 finished for some games and completed for others on day 1. Take Horse armor for Oblivion, was incomplete when Oblivion was released but instead of calling it a day and all that work a loss they completed it and sold it as DLC. Now take anything DLC for any of the COD games and that s*** was done before the game hit the shelves. Historically DLC was always included in an update free of charge until someone decided to see if idiots would buy it. and they did. Also oddly enough it was console gamers who bought DLC and made it a norm to pay for s*** we used to get for free. Sorry, since everything you said backs up my point of view, how is it that I have no clue? Now that companies have discovered and are emphasizing DLC even more (To the point of deliberately releasing half-finished games to sell you the rest later) it really benefits them financially to eliminate mods and the modding community. I think that eventually Zenimax will decide that it's better to sell 200k copies of a weapon pack now than spread out some unknown number of game sales over 10 years. But there will be a time where their team will have to move on to new projects, and will stop making dlcs for that game. And after that there will be no new stuff to keep players interested. LOL you skipped my response to his claim that i was backing his ideas up. BTW. #1 in your list was pretty much the same thing I wrote a few years ago. near word for word! the rest is about the same list i did too but not quite the same terminology. possibly i was quoted once and you read it then paraphrased it here. not that it really matters just was surprised to read that. If it was all out of your own head then that's the dozen monkeys bashing away at typewriters replicating Shakespeare after so many years theory made into fact. Believe me I didn't bothered to search what threads you made as long as you are on Nexus to reply to you.

  21. I will tell you my story and I hope you will find it interesting for your question. I picked up Skyrim about a month after it came out,and I started playing my first playthrough with only some graphics and performance mods like texture packs and the 4gb enabler. The default textures where too bad in comparison with the mod ones,so they really standed out whenever I met a default texture next to a Bethesda one. That made me think that it would be better if I actually waited more until more texture packs had come out to play it,because the difference between the detail levels of the two kind of textures are very striking. But I actually played the whole Main Quest, and did only a few side quests due the process. When I completed the main quest,I had already gain some experience regarding what I like in the game and what not,and what I'd like to be modded/different. And I thought "If these specific things where that way different in this game it would be much more enjoyable". So I stopped playing it waiting until my game is modded the way I want to,to continue playing the rest of the game. I haven't done any of the guild questlines yet,and there are numerous general quests there waiting for me too. This story is an example of my experience that I give you to make my point my clear. And my point is that if you don't have a clear picture of how the game is,you don't really know what you would like to add or alter to it. But nobody says that you have to play the whole game once to know what you want to change. You can just play a part of it so you get an idea of what needs fixing, and then install the desired mods and play the rest of it,the way you want it. :)
  22. So your question is what's the gain from Bethesda's part, right ? Well while mods could take the place of some would be dlcs,in the long run modding benefits them, and in many ways too. 1) First of all it keeps players being kept interested in a game, long after it's over. The more people playing your game for the more time, the better. 2) The continuous occupation of people with their game creates an automatic hype around this game and the next one for the series,a hype the developer/publisher doesn't have to move its little finger to achieve it other than just releasing the tools, and of course hype is always welcome. 3) The more in numbers and more good in quality the mods are, there are more chances some players would be willing to buy the game after a while. Some people didn't bought Skyrim because they weren't so interested in the setting or didn't liked its gameplay. But depending on the nature and amount of its mods,it will make a bunch of people to actually go and buy it after they see what mods are out there. For example that's what happened to me with Half Life 2.(Yeah I know it's a good game and should have played it no matter its mods or not) 4) Finally,it gives them ideas and let them see how their game would play if it had some new features in it that they didn't bothered to implement theirselves. They might hadn't done a feature for the game during its development because they weren't sure how it would end up and if it worthed it.But if a feature gets done by some modder team, and it works well, they have a good example of what feature they could add in their next game.
  23. I think that the answer depends on your knowledge and free time. If I'm guessing correct you will be able to change some gameplay mechanics and introduce new ones, but something like that would require you programming skills. The Creation Kit will come ready with some dialogue options that you can adjust just with some clicks, but there will only be such kind of options for things Bethesda already put in to the game. So if you want to alter/edit something that is already in the game, like the stats of a race, will be kinda easy, but if you want to insert some game mechanics like e.g. taking cover behind walls, you will have to make the animations yourself, and program the game so it can do it.
  24. Imagine if the surprize wasn't the so popular that became story of the texture pack, but a 64bit exe instead,so we can run even more mods at the same time. :)
