  1. Getting a new monitor, the consensus seems to be that the IPS panels are visually superior. Does the slower response time (4ms) mean anything in FO4? thanks, Joe
  2. Gopher's Unified HUD mod will fix a lot of problems like that. Give it a try. Just remember to deactivate and reactivate it (and the Immersive HUD mod if you are using it) each time you add a mod that uses the HUD. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/15771/?
  3. I noticed the same thing, big difference in my order. That being said, I've been using LOOT for a couple of weeks now and my game is currently VERY stable.
  4. To all the folks who continue to support this game, either by updating or creating new mods or by providing help on these forums. By following the advice and using the newly updated patches and mods I've been playing for days without a crash. In particular, the updated Unofficial Patch, The Paradox version of RH Iron sights and the Blackened patch for FWE/MMM have contributed to my game's stability. thanks again, Joe ps - and the game looks great with NMC's textures!
  5. Sydney. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/9320/? Great attitude: do the job, get the caps, get drunk, get laid. Great back story and non-annoying (and sometimes very amusing) comments. Maybe a little too talkative for you.
  6. Go for it! Don't worry too much about fixing graphics or game play features, there are plenty of folks who will do that kind of work if the game will handle it without choking. Fixing the basic game engine so that it can utilize the capabilities of modern cpus, gpus and larger amounts of RAM will open the game up to more complex scripting and HD graphics. This in turn will attract modders who will take advantage of these capabilities. Good luck!
  7. Thanks for the help and the link. I haven't gotten into FO3EDIT yet, but I'll give it a try. I was reading through the posts of the Bugfix/CTD mod and supposedly it is included in the latest updated version of the Unofficial Patch (or maybe will be included in the next release, it's not exactly clear). Joe
  8. Hi folks, after several years away from FO3 I've started a new game with the GOTY edition, followed Gopher's guide on on getting it running with FWE and MMM. Added a few more personal choices and everything seems to be stable after about 15 hours of game play (no fast travel). In his play through Gopher was using Remastered as his bug fix patch. It's no longer available and the Unofficial patch has been updated in the last year. Is it a good choice, or are there better ones? Maybe Error Corrections - Reduce CTD? ( http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16490/? ) thanks, Joe
