Being a Dragonborn without the Main Quest
Miles Tails Prower replied to Kuboxy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I suggest "Run for your Lives", a mod for Skyrim. It makes NPCs protected during a dragon attack. They cannot die to dragons, but they can still be killed by a careless player. There's lots of alternate dialogue in the game, especially with Miraak. Miraak with chastise you if you've barely killed any dragons, and will be impressed if you kill 25 or more. If you kill Alduin, he's shocked, making a chided remark that he could have done it if he wanted to. During the battle with Miraak, he will also chastise you about the Greybeards, but only if you complete the Horn of Jorgen Windcaller, calling out thing such as "I know things the greybeards could never teach you", etc. You can also have unique dialogue in some areas if you are recognized as Dragonborn. For instance, you can use that as a persuasion option to access the Mage's college. There is; however, one major perk to being dragonborn and doing the main quest. It allows you to complete the Civil war with a temporary truce. This can only be done if you pursue the main quest before you start the civil war; however. Other than that, mostly quips and alternate dialogue options. Having access to the Th'um is really useful for early game play, but isn't necessary. Do keep note; however, that dragons still attack after Alduin's defeat, but at a reduced rate. -
Being a Dragonborn without the Main Quest

Completing the Whiterun quest only turns on the Global for "DragonsReturned" to 1 and grants you the first word of Unrelenting force. Changing the global causes dragons to spawn randomly based on several variables which change based on how far you are in the main quest; however, you won't formally be recognized as dragonborn until you complete the Horn of Jorgen Windcaller. Miraak will still recognize you as Dragonborn, but won't mention the greybeards unless you complete this quest; however, you can still battle dragons and absorb their souls. If you are formally recognized as Dragonborn by the Greybeards, you will be given unique Dialogue by Miraak. You will also have some unique dialogue for quests, but it isn't necessary to complete those quests. Also, not being recognized as Dragonborn will give Durnehviir some unique dialogue as well; for which he will explain to the player that he does not know why he he considers him Dovah, but that it comes natural to him to do so and that it may be revealed why later. If you want to fight dragons without completing Dragon Rising, just type "Set DragonsReturned to 1" in the console and that should make dragons spawn randomly in the world. I can't promise this won't cause side affects. For instance, When you travel with delphine to Kynesgrove, DragonsReturned is set to 0 temporarily so that you don't have a random dragon attack before Delphine takes you to Kynesgrove. To be honest, I don't suggest you do this as there are some known bugs with it. For instance, you will cause some word walls to become unobtainable if you unlock shouts before you are granted Unrelenting Force through Dragon Rising. -
I'm working on giving the bloodcursed Elven arrows an explosion effect similar to the Sunhallowed elven arrows, but I want it to be red and bloody. I have all the magic effects, enchantments, and explosions made. The arrows work how I want them to, but they don't have any impressive explosion effects. Any advice on what I can do? I'd prefer the explosion to create red light similar to how the Sunhallowed arrows create light when they explode.

I used your script in the magic effect of the original auriel's bow, but it still isn't working. I don't know what's going on or why it isn't working. Any idea?

I'm using your mod, but rather than use the actual mod, I modified Auriel's bow as a replacer. I replaced all the arrows with bolts, and the bow with a crossbow. This way I don't have to have any new scripts as they will use the items that already exist in the game. I managed to defeat Harkon using the crossbow, so I know it works at least, but I'm encountering a snag. When I hover the crossbow over the sun, I get a visual effect letting me know I'm pointed at the sun like a normal Auriel's bow; however, when I fire a bolt into the sun, none of the effects are playing. I'm not quite sure why this is. EDIT: Hm, I think I see why. The script attached to the magic effect is specific to bows. I'll use the one you created as part of your mod and attach it to the original. That should fix it. Will test. EDIT 2: Hm. That doesn't seem to work, either.

Whatever happened to this mod? It is the *only* one of its kind on the Nexus, or anywhere on the internet for that matter. The Author has hidden it long ago and nobody has bothered to recreate its effects. It modified the .tri files of the femalehead at its core which prevented the vampirism from making the cheeks gaunt. No other vampire mod can fix this. Simply renaming your femalehead.dds and femalehead_msn.dds to femaleheadvampire_msn.dds and femaleheadvampire.dds will not solve this. Nor will editing the vampire race in the CK and unchecking "Overlay headpart list" (Which will prevent any changes to your character's face EXCEPT the cheeks, including eyes) or by changing the face parts of the race directly to use "FemaleHeadracevampire" to "FemaleheadRace". Nothing but that mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16506/? works. Has anyone bothered to recreate it? I know requesting mods without the author's consent is against the rules, so we really need someone to tackle this. We can't have the only mod of its kind be unavailable for users to download.

Jarl Korir - Can't Start Helm of Winterhold
Miles Tails Prower replied to Miles Tails Prower's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The unofficial skyrim patch altered Jarl Korir in 1.3.0. Since then, I have not been able to do the quest. Arthmoor isn't responding, and without anymore reported issues by other users, I can't submit a bug report. -

Even so, I wonder why it would even be that way? Skyrim is an odd game, indeed. On one game I was able to invest in Angeline's Aromas and on two different games I wasn't... However, this is the first time I've ran into a problem I couldn't fix with the console or the CK. -

Arthmoor suggested I make a thread and get as many people's issues listed as I could. if anyone has this issue with the quest, please let me know so that I can show it to Arthmoor and ask that he look into it by making a bug report. Thanks everyone! -

I've tried everything. You can still become thane by changing the Jarl's reputation to 2 with the console, but you can't do the Helm of Winterhold. I asked Arthmoor to help me figure out a fix, but he brushed me off. I've looked through the CK, changed the quest to start enabled, tried using the console to setstages.. Nothing works.. -
Did you wait for Farkas to return? The event won't happen until Farkas appears, at which point the ceremony will start.

Skyrim Creation Kit problem
Miles Tails Prower replied to STUPIDGUARDIAN's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You should just be able to hit "Retry" or "Ignore" and it should work just fine. If not, it sounds like the BSAs aren't loading properly. Does this mod have BSA files?
