In response to post #39597960. #39601285 is also a reply to the same post. It definitely isn't going to get them rave reviews, customer satisfaction awards or any PR points. Probably gonna tax the hell out of their support service to since no matter what they say 99% of the people who have problems caused by a mod WILL call them expecting help anyway. Those guys and girls better get practicing the "Sorry we don't offer technical support for the mods" line now.

In response to post #39600655. Uh, no.

In response to post #39597035. #39600400 is also a reply to the same post. Of course we aren't getting TES6 anytime soon. Do you know how many thousands upon thousands of man hours it takes to program enough bugs and glitches to produce a modern TES game? :P

In response to post #39598745. The thing is just because they don't care or don't think it's worth expending the effort to try and stop doesn't make it any less immoral or illegal. I could make that Iron man mod without permission to use his likeness which is technically infringing the owners intellectual property rights and upload it here and not only would that be ok but the community would applaud my effort and praise me for it (if the mod was good). Yet then when someone re-uploads it without my permission somewhere else they all have pitchforks ready to burn someone alive and start screaming about how it's illegal and immoral. If people are going to try to take the legal and moral stance and want to be taken seriously they really need to do it consistently and wholeheartedly. Just to be clear, I'm in no way saying that other people using mod authors mods without permission is ok just that I find the double standard funny.

In response to post #39498570. #39512850, #39513220, #39514275, #39514365, #39514775, #39514790, #39518690, #39518820, #39519085, #39519310, #39519400, #39519465, #39519585, #39519975, #39520120 are all replies on the same post. The whole legal argument is kind of amusing considering this site has thousands of mods uploaded here which break copy-write laws and whatnot by containing or using the likeness of other IPs without permission.

Wouldn't it be awesome if...
Liquidacid23 replied to ItachisTruth's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Spoilers
in fallout 2 there was a populated vault.. in fact they had used their GECK and had a whole populated high tech city built around the vault too -
closest to the Colt Model 933 with SIRS rails, an ACOG scope and a PRS stock.. like this but with the PRS stock instead http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/4/4f/Colt_m933_03.jpg/400px-Colt_m933_03.jpg tho due to the blandness and incorrect features (compared to any real ar-15/m16 model) in game it could really be any model modified or none of them for instance the Service Rifle and Marksman carbine lack the charging handle on the rear which is present in pretty much all ar-15/m16 family models. Instead they put it on the bolt on the right side where the cases eject

I understand what your saying but I still feel if you remove the 50's Americana vibe that is such an integral part of the entire series and setting it will not feel life fallout anymore, of course people will still buy it, tho. Fallout is now a franchise like CoD and you could crap in a box , write fallout on it and people would buy it.. lol.. but I digress there is something that strikes me as much more important than the where for the next game.. the how.. while New Vegas was an awesome game and IMO better overall than fallout 3 it doesn't feel like a step forward.. more like a step sideways or a very large DLC.. they really need to make some major changes before they release the next one.. I mean a whole new engine, mechanics and whatnot.. otherwise the franchise is going to get stale very fast.. it's kinda sad when you go through this site and realize that people making Mods in their free time are making bigger and better enhancements for the series than the developing team who has a multi-million dollar budget and entire teams of professionals

Is House good or bad?... or both?
Liquidacid23 replied to CryptorX's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
good/evil (like all morality) are perspective based so that question can not be answered with an absolute only an opinion... it all depends on your personal opinion, experiences and view point as to which side is good and which is bad.. I'm a complete moral nihilist . I don't see House as good or evil just as one side in a conflict.. Personally I didn't side with him because his plan basically sets him up as a dictator of the region and I prefer a republic and they strike me as the largest and most powerful faction in total so the best choice for stability of the region.. tho if House or even the Legion had been stronger and a better chance I would have sided with them -
another reason fallout wouldn't work well in another country is because of the 50's american cultural and sci-fi theme that makes up a large portion of the game and it's setting.. this would not be present anywhere else in the world and changing that to other cultural references or removing it would make it not fallout anymore because all you'd be left with was the generic post-apocalyptic setting that tons of other media uses .. I would like to see a different backdrop tho.. the only problem is the fact we nuked the world so most of those settings like rain forest or whatnot would be gone.. tho setting it in Miami would be cool since then they could keep the traditional cultural references and setting but introduce a new variety of environment.. I would have said Hawaii but given how important a military target it is i'm sure it would have been hit hard if not completely gone (nukes plus a fairly active volcanic region can't be good) and because of it's isolated nature not sure how much would be going on there

true the US Navy had a few versions of the m1 re-chambered for 7.62x51mm as an effort to "modernize" the weapon. I believe in the 1950s the US gave a ton of surplus m1's to Brasil who re-chambered some of them to 7.62x51mm and even to accept FN FAL magazines.. also there are a few newer civilian models of the gun chambered in .308 win too the only major difference between the .308 and the 7.62x51mm NATO (same as the difference between the .223 and 5.56x45mm NATO) is the cartridge case is thicker which allows higher load and increased pressure for better ballistics (closer to the 30-06 which it replaced).. tho any weapon rated to fire 7.62x51mm can technically fire .308 winchester and it is actually considered safe to fire the higher powered 7.62x51mm from weapons rated to fire the .308 commercial rounds .. oh and the reason for the change.. the m1 replaced the m1903 Springfield bolt action rifle which was chambered in 30-06 so the M1 kept using our standard round but after WW2 when we standardized with NATO and moved to the m14 which was chambered in 7.62x51mm some of the m1's (mostly in navy service) were re-chambered to the newer standard so they could remain in active service.. which they did all the way up into Vietnam

correct.. it is based off the m1 garand which officially replaced the bolt-action M1903 Springfield as the standard service rifle of the United States Armed Forces in 1936. It was the first semi-automatic rifle to be generally issued to the infantry of any nation and General George S. Patton called it "The Greatest Battle Implement Ever Devised" http://www.neaca.com/images/Garand_Springfield_14623xx_.JPG oh and from the fallout wiki on the name "This Machine is a reference to the slogan "This Machine Kills Fascists", which American musician Woody Guthrie had written on his guitar. On the rifle, the slogan is changed to "Well This Machine Kills Commies", written on the left side of the weapon."

I concur in some some ways.. even if we put the whole planet into nuclear winter and did manage to kill off pretty much everything some life (even if just microscopic bacteria) will survive and evolve until eventually it would cover the earth again.. it's not like it would be the first mass extinction level event that has ever happened.. I dunno bout calling it Radiation vs. the Forces of Nature because radiation is not something we made it is a natural force.. the Sun puts off radiation and pretty much everything on earth, including people, are radiated already to some degree, granted we did manage to make some new elements that do more so than natural ones (if we really even "invented them, no one knows they may exist naturally but just not around here) ... tho that's just for now.. someday we will figure out how to completely kill a planet, of this i'm sure, and even then given the grand scope of the universe even if we blew this whole planet into dust it would still be as you said "but a blip in the grand scheme"
