I thought that wastes the unused components. I.e. only uses the part needed for what your crafting.

Sorry to bump but... anyone? Even just to tell me the function exists?

Hope this hasn't been posted a thousand times already, had a quick browse but didn't see this. I seem to spend a lot of time dropping items and junk on the floor of my settlement, going into build mode then breaking down items one by one. This is tedious and should be a function within the junk tab of the build system. I may have just missed an in game function too, so if its just me being an idiot.... sorry. If not, please modders... help :)
