Use FO3Edit to create a 'merged patch'. That should help solve this issue.

Crashing on start (load order enclosed)
Makski replied to hking0036's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
hking0036, You appear to be missing a 'master' file, or have it in the wrong spot. You've got two ways to 'fixi this. 1. Download BOSS & have it sort your LO. It's not perfect - some mods won't be sorted. 2. Download FO3Edit - run this & it'll tell you what master file is missing - or out of order. You should watch Gopher's series of install videos for FO3 - they're 'dated' but will provide a good overview on how to install mods & in what order works best. I watch them still, even though I've been modding my game for several years. Hope this helps out Mak -
There's a key in Jarrod's personal lab next to his bedroom that unlocks the roof access. That's where the 001 clearance is. up on the roof.

I suggest watching Gophers 'Modding Fallout' viseos on Youtube. He shows how to install several of the most popular mods found on the Nexus. the vids are old, but he does have an 'updated' series that's found on his channel. I highly recomend these - I've been modding my game for a coupe of years, & still refer to his vids, Makes the install & setup so much easier. Even if you don't want the mods he shows, the vids give a clear description of how to install & setup a modded game. Hope this helps out! Mak

@austinzappy, Hey, man! Go to the FWE page & look on the description to see the suggested Load Order. Or download & use the BOSS utility found on the Nexus. (I don't use it - I like to figure LO out myself) If you've already done this, Try adding CASM to your load order & turning off the 'in-game-autosave' function. This helped my game. I've not used Ironsights or Arwen's mods so I can't tell you if they're causing anything. Are the Arwen & IMCN mods supposed to be separate from your Merged Patch? Also , The MMM tougher traders, zone respawn & natural selection aren't needed in your LO. (they're part of FWE & can be set up using the FWE control panel in-game) Gopher, has a bunch of Youtube videos that show how to set up a stable 'basic' game using FWE, MMM, & other popular mods. I highly recommend watching them, Find them here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tONiXNbwSt0 . (yes, they're 'old' but still relevant to setting up a core game) Hope this helps out. Mak

enclave spawning to early
Makski replied to unknownxgamer's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Are you using FWE & have 'soft leveling' set to harsh? I usually see an Enclave patrol hanging about near the boat rental around lvl 5 or so . Usually run them past the Meta-humans at the Jefferson Memorial. 'Kill two birds with one frantic stimpack using run' - ohh, the salvage for low-level me..... -
Try this: Uninstall WMK, then re-install it. Reset your Load Order & run FO3Edit again. Sometimes NMM misses things when it loads plugins- especially if your loading many all at once.

Watch Gopher's Install mods in Fallout 3 video series. They provide step by step instructions & helpful tips. Sounds like you missed a step during your setup. I still use Gopher's vids to remind me of the 'little' things that are easily missed when installing.

look on youtube for Gopher's Modding Fallout 3 video part 7. He uses NMM, but he does show how to download them & do the install. You might want to watch the whole series. Sure they're long, but he shows ya how to get mods into the game. Has a lot of good tips as well. I still go to his vids when I load FO3, just to make sure I've got everything stable with the major mods.

Can you build a group like 2-3 Lesser Wolves with 1-2 Greater wolves? Kinda like a 'real life' pack has an alpha male & female? oh, don't worry about the levels, I use FWE & have it spawn everything at all levels. Ran into an Enclave patrol at lvl 5 & SM overlords @ lvl 10. No worrys as long as I keep Charon loaded w/ammo! :woot:

Try Arwins realism Tweaks. Found here: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/7565

Interesting premise. Are you importing wolf meshes & textures? Location suggestions: South of Republic of Dave / East of grisly diner South west of Oasis South east of Little Lamplite near the campground. Maybe in the area south of the drive in near the bottom of the map. Don't put them in the city itself. Or on the caravan routes. (just suggestions) And make the White Wolf level 20. That would be cool!

20th Century Weapons Load Order Problem
Makski replied to CommissarHark's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
You're using the wrong version of 20th Cent Wpn. You need v. 5.12 w addons. I found them, but the moderators frown on putting 3rd party links on the forum. (I agree). Google 20th century weapons 5.12 with addons You should get a hit on mods reloaded site. Hope this helps ya  -
It's the Talking UI mod. If you're asking about the 'aiming & selecting' effects, at the very bottom KDS writes that they're his own sound effects & aren't uploaded to the Nexus.

Oops! Posted in wrong place. Thanks, for directing me to the right forum!

I've been away from the boards during the holidays. I came back & went to check on remastered's page to learn more wisdom from Purr4me. Imagine my surprise when the nexus informs me it can't find the mod. Does anyone know what happened to the mod? I rely upon it & its updates for my far smoother FO3 gameplay.

Go to this video: Watch it trough once, then follow what he suggests for basic setup of your laptop. I would've suggested Fallout Remastered as required for a vanilla game, but I guess too many people whined about it not 'helping' their heavily modded games & the authors pulled it. It was the best at smoothing out the CTD & other isssues. Once you're comfortable with what Gopher has shown you, look for & install this http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/10318. It also helps with lag, ctd, stutter. You might consider 'upgrading' to Win7. Vista is a resource hog. Win7 home is 'fairly' inexpensive & stable. Other than that, trying to play this resource intensive game on a laptop might not be wise. Upgrade to a dedicated 'desktop' rig. I'm using an HP Pavilion p6703w with a 1 gig ATI 4650 gpu & 12 gigs ram. Whole outfit cost me less than 600 USD after the 'upgrades' I did to it. (graphics card & ram) Hope this helps....
