thank you very much!

Hello fellow nexus people. I like using vats for the cinematic shots. I would love to watch my character empty a miniguns magazine in vats but that wont happen because in vats you can only shoot short bursts. Is the a mod that messes with that? Is there any way around this limitation?

I made lots of nice houses in fallout 4 but something's always missing. An addition to settlement crafting of pianos guitars and other musical instruments would be great for decoration purposes. If someone was able to actually make animations and music tracks so that a settler or the player could actually play the piano or the guitar would be great. Ive only recently started modeling stuff for this game and im very far away from actually implementing anything in the game so I cant do it myself. Anyone interested?

A mod like that would probably take a lot of time to make...i assume that you want something like animated prostitution or however it was called for fallout 3. The ppl in loverslab will probably work on somethin like that sooner or later.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Im a novice in making models and i havent really tried getting anything implemented to the game yet. Made a few swords and a tactical tomahawk but got bored since im not interested in melee weapons, i dont even use them ingame. From the first steps i took into making my own models i realised that i lose interest if its not something i really like and working on it becomes a chore. So i decided to go ahead and dive in the deep waters and try to make a custom laser gun with its weapon mods to mod it into a laser carbine then a laser rifle and then a laser sniper rifle , with its handles and stocks and sights and flashlight. Everything custom made. I dare say i will attempt to make custom loading animation (even though i have no idea how to do that). I havent really done this before so i need some info that i just cant find anywhere else. Like the steps to the whole process of modeling. How far can i go? Whats an acceptable poly count that wont rape the ingame fps? Do i first make a simple model and then do subdivisions on it and make it more "smooth"/detailed and then after the uv mapping i lower the polycount?...these simple things are not explained in any tutorial i found. I want to make a pretty good looking model and yeah i know the more you work on it and the more realistic details you add on it makes the model good looking and convincing as a plausible weapon like so many great mods of real life weapons that have been uploaded and make it really difficult to find any differences compared to photos of real life weapons. The fact i choose a laser gun is because i want to make something close to the original fallout laser gun mixed with a classic star wars element (i hope ) that with its mods will resemble the original fallout laser rifle and at the same time the only moving part of the weapon is gonna be the trigger and yeah the custom animation for the magazine loading. I really have no idea how to do most of these things and im gonna learn as i go. Right now im modeling the main body of the laser gun. My question is: how much detail do i add? Do i make a simple shape and subdivision it and then go add the details? or do i make it as detailed as i want and then go straight to uv mapping and after that work on reducing the polycount? Is that even the proper sequence on working on a model? And since we are on the subject whats the average polycount of custom weapon so it wont kill the fps in game? And please just so we dont fill this topic with non helpful comments i would really appreciate it if ppl with no experience in custom modelling and how they behave in the game, would refrain from making random comments that will derail the topic. In the end of the day the help that im asking for will lead to a nice weapon mod and other ppl who until now only used other ppls mods might be inspired to make their own and find this topic helpfull in their endeavor. For now this is all i got: 1 the concept and 2 i just started modeling http://i.imgur.com/muihBpE.jpg%5B/img%5D'%5D http://i.imgur.com/qtNZDg3.jpg%5B/img%5D'%5D

Various Nexus related things from the Skyrim SE launch aftermath

any idea how much time will pass since we are able to use NMM again? a week , 2 weeks? More? most of the mods in my NMM are outdated since I haven't played fallout 4 for some time. Last Friday I had a day off work so I did all the RL related chore and expected to spend the weekend adding all the mods im interested in. Well SSE just had to launch on this particular time didn't it. I have no idea when I will ever get the time to mod the game with leisure...probably in the summer vacations cause that the only vacations I get from work. Im NOT complaining (well just a tiny bit). It was to be expected with SSE launching I just wasn't aware when that was and didn't think it would be a problem. So im asking for a probable time that NMM will be back. So I can arrange to find some free time to start browsing and downloading mods. For now I guess I will focus on working on a custom weapon model im making for fallout 4. -

Is it any good? do you like it? any critisism?...i did take a few shortcuts and didnt design it exactly as it was in the pic in an earlier post. http://i.imgur.com/94IhNrq.jpg%5B/img%5D'%5D i want to learn and i want to learn fast. -

http://i.imgur.com/967PZnY.jpg this is a rough drawing of what im trying to do (im considering if i should do this for skyrim instead but anyway i'll think about that after i finish it). theres something i wanna ask. Ive seen perfect circles in ppl guns swords armors and the like and im wondering...when i want to put the circle there at the lower part of the blade , i gotta choose how many vertices its gonna have. Is it an actual mesh thing or is it a texture thing? getting the perfect circle i mean...cause if its a mesh thing is there a way to save up vertices? http://i.imgur.com/OxQagzr.jpg%5B/img%5D'%5Dhave anyidea how i can stick together those 2 pieces and align them perfectly to each other? PS if im asking too many question i shouldnt ask then just say so. Im just trying to save some time cause watching tutorials can take hours if not days. update: scratch that i just eyeballed it. http://i.imgur.com/swIQptp.jpg%5B/img%5D'%5D its late im sleepy and i just wanted to see what uv mapping is so here is end result ( a fail without a doubt but still its my first try) hmmm these youtube tutorials wont do....I need to go find a blender book for dummies and learn how to do the basics first. , im not giving up! It might take longer than I thought to get good at this but im gonna do it. -

http://i.imgur.com/8Kw1EX9.jpg%5B/img%5D'%5D i hear ya , ok i get it ...its harder than i initialy thought. Lets try this with something really basic and simple. Is this simple enough? (lolz quick windows paint drawing) its supposed to be a sword of somekind. im working on it right now...there a lot of trial and error involved though. almost got there for a moment but then i realised i couldnt make sense of the faces and i just started all over again and try to keep it clean this time. another update: im trying to keep it simple but at the same time make it look interesting (yes im keeping the vertises number down). My problem right now is basicly to figure out the shape of the thing. Might do a few drawings on paper so i can decide what i want. Anyway its too late right now so i'll continue probably on friday that i have the day off work. When i first realised that i couldnt make the axe i started feeling complacent thinking "omg this isnt as easy as i thought and knowing the right limit of vertises polygons whatever to make this playable...problems start to add up..." but i still kept on working on this thing and the more stuff i figure out the more confident i become. So i think i'll take my time so i can model something i like instead of a simple piece of metal that even super mutants would make fun of. -

http://i.imgur.com/QWseKoc.jpg%5B/img%5D'%5D i decided to work on something like this. Looks like the textures wont be too hard to do , i hope... Grenades i dont really use them much and guns have moving parts and stuff...this will be the first thing i ever make so going with a melee weapon is the best choice. As for popularity i couldnt care less. Im interested to learn how to mod so i can make the things i want....got so many weapons in mind and so many possibilities for custom power armor pieces and armors...yeah i know i dream big and i havent even started working on the axe model yet... -

I agree and I think it would be fairly simple. I prefer to start with a gun. maybe not hmmm... I think making a simple sword and implementing it in the game might provide good experience on how to make mods. I gotta remember to make babysteps so I don't overextend. Thanks. I think that's good advice. I'll google around to find something interesting to make. Im gonna have plenty of time to work on it on the weekend. From a tutorial I just watched on youtube making a 3D object looks really easy. Well i'll go ahead and do just that. I will update this topic with my progress. you just saved me from a lot of trouble! thank you! -

Hey guys...all these years downloading mods and playing with them I had a lot of fun. But there was always something missing , cause you can only get the mods that other ppl have thought of making. You cant get the things that you want to see in a game. Sometimes you'll find a great mod that you have been dreaming about. Most of the times you don't. And I feel very bad requesting mods to be made cause even if ppl are polite and don't say it I listen this little voice inside screaming " f this just do it yourself". Noone is obligated to indulge your needs especially if its for free. So where do I start? Of course I guess I must first say what I have in mind. I wanna start with fallout 4. I wanna learn how to make a completely custom gun, then an armor and then make quests and meaningfull companions and then expand on to other games im interested in. In the long run why the hell not even make a game? Isnt this how everyone started and ended up making these games we love to play and mod? Isnt this how all of these awesome ppl here learn how to make mods and bless us with their awesoness? I know I love games and I know I love mods and even if its hard to start learning these things now in the age of 33 with all the responsibilities and problems of real life in the way I think that I have ignored this need for far too long... just because ppl use to say "oh you cant make money out of that"...who cares, I know for a fact that I have a lot of fun whenever I try to mess with a game, made some minor modding (probably better to say I adjusted mods to my liking) on other ppls mods in kerbal space program and it was fun. And that sense of accomplishment when you make something cant compare to anything else in this world. I currently don't have any skill or knowledge on how to mod a game or even how to design a 3d object but I got the NEED and WILL deep inside to learn. Its not about fame or glory. Its more about actually creating that piece of armor I have in my head , or that weapon I have in my head. To actually design it , texture it and finally implement it in the game. I have no idea where to start but this site is full with all these modders that make all those content I have enjoyed since I first discovered that oblivion could be modded and what a mod is. So can anyone give me directions? What programs to learn to use. I think a good place to start is to learn how to make a 3D object and then texture it. What program is both easy to learn but also offers enough capabilities to get me to a point where I can implement a simple scratch built weapon ingame? I'd love to start with lets say making a laser gun. If there are tutorials about these things then please provide a link. thanks (I just realized that at the top of the topics posted in this section of the forum there is a sticky call modding tutorials, guess I got overexcited ,never the less any advice is welcome) I just downloaded blender and will start familiarizing myself with it. Any ideas about tutorial on how to make a weapon in blender? -
Anyone remember this sweet mod? The AEVegas Vol5 Gatling Alice weapons! It really surprises me that these weapons didn't make it into fallout 4. I just found a mod for fallout 4 that replaces the minigun sound with that from the new vegas mod. The author allowed that. So would anyone be interested to ask if they could port these weapons into fallout 4? The minigun , the "nasty grandpa" autocannon and the tiger 8,8 cannon. Of course the weapons will need some tweaking and possibly some mods to make them more modular but even if they were ported as they are they would still be awesome, not to mention that the minigun and the "nasty grandpa" models look great. thanks.
