You could try this When I tried modding oblivion to look more like skyrim I realized the main difference was the lighting and shadows. If I were you I would try finding a mod that changes the lighting to be bloomier and the shadow to be darker. I also found this I'm not sure if all the graphics mods are listed or not but, it still looks great And if you want to go the extra mile to really get that skyrim feel, get the Construction Set and replace every tree with white pine or aspen, except for the trees in Cameron's Paradise and Kvatch. I know it sounds like a lot of work and it is and it isn't necessary by any means but it does give the game a more skyrim feel. I do suggest OCOv2 and I also suggest this mod http://www.oblivion.lima-city.de/files/plugins.html scroll down to the one that says surprise it adds various armors from skyrim to oblivion. I hope this helps... good luck

I'm interested in hearing the backstory to your skyrim character and what your character is planning on doing in the future. Also, if you want to, you can post screenshots of your character and/or a video and tell me there build if you want to. I'm simply curious. If you want to hear my character's backstory just ask and I'll tell you.

I have a really good idea for a mod, the problem is I can't make any mods on my computer. So, I was wondering if someone would be willing to help me out. I thought it would be fun to add the black books from skyrim to oblivion. I'm not asking anyone to illegally port content from skyrim to oblivion, I'm asking for someone to add new meshes and scripts to oblivion so i can open a black book and be greeted by hermaeus mora. The main reason I'm asking for this mod is so I can have the tentacle clouds and the architecture and the climate as resources for the TES Construction Set. So I suppose if someone wanted to make the climate and someone wanted to make the architecture and someone else wanted to make the creatures etc... I would be okay with that as well. Like I said earlier I would do it myself but I can't make mods outside of the CS on my computer. I would really appreciate it. If you can't, but know of something like this I would appreciate that too. Thanks :)

So, I was planning on getting blender but, my computer just stopped working for some reason. I won't be able to do anything for this mod, sadly.=( Thanks for the help with the mod.
-
Glowplug, I got the computer. I also got skyrim. My new computer has enough room for skyrim and oblivion but it will be really slow so I may not be able to help make this mod or download it. Although I am upset that you put all this work into it and know that I have the computer to do it, I also have skyrim. If you still want to finish it, one of my friends said they would help, but has no modding experience. I'll try both the games and blender but I make no promises. I'm terribly sorry. I hate to have made you do all this work for nothing. I'm sure others will appreciate it, if you finish it.

Use it as you wish for whatever you want.

Weather you share it or not is up to you. I can look at all of the mods for bruma and see what wouldn't be compatible. I won't be able to look at all of the, but I can look at the ones with the most downloads. One I know of the top of my head is "Snowy road to bruma" . It has a lot of incompatibilities and I believe this mod would be one of them. I haven't really looked at the entire layout of whiterun to know exactly where everything should go, so I may not be able to tell you all the incompatibilities for sure. All I know is white run looks a lot like Edoras from lotr.
-
I agree with you about how some retextures would make all the differance. However; I still want an entire revamp. I'm not planing on getting any other mods that would change bruma except this one and some graphics mods. As for item fade, it really doesn't bother me as long as the building doesn't dissapear. I don't think I'll have any problems with aything CTDing. If I just seems like to much work, I could ask for some more help from my friends through PMs. Like I said earlier I may be getting a new laptop so I might be able to do more for the mod. I'll find out about the laptop this weak.

So we are doing a total remesh of all the houses (exterior and interior)? Would we have to get rid of some of the houses and/or shops in order to make it look right?
-
I do want a whole remesh. I want to make bruma look as much like whiterun as possible. I noticed in some of the pictures I saw of the whiterun homes they didn't have snow on the roofs, I want some snow on the roofs. Other than the roofs I want to make all the bruma homes look exactly like the whiterun ones. When you said "especially what Bruma houses are missing" did you mean if we made bruma look like whiterun we wouldn't be able to keep al of the houses in bruma?
-
ElderScrollsfan, I'm pretty sure all we need is to change all of the bruma homes to look like the whiterun homes. Anything else than that you would have to ask Glowpliug.
-
Glowplug, it turns out that my computer can't hold blender therefore meaning it can't hold this mod either. I may be getting a new computer, if I do than I can get it. If you want to put this project on hold, that would be fine with me. I'll know weather or not I'll be getting that computer in a few days. It's entirely up to you what you want to do at this point. Unless Philippe or Elderscrollsfan would be willing to do some models, you are the only one doing this at this point. I'll tell you if I get the computer or not, if I do than I'll be able to contribute to the mod, but for the next few days you're on your own.
-
I got the pics from google. I know about UESP, just never thought about using it.
-
I believe glowplug was talking about something more like this http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20141014115402/elderscrolls/images/c/c0/Whiterun_Hold_Guard_Skyrim.png I could be mistaken though
-
No, I would make the armor. I'll have to figure out some animating stuff (for flags). I'll do the armor soon, when I do it I'll tell you and you will have to tell me how to link it to you.
-
Well, regarding giving people things to do, I think it would be a good idea, but I don't know anything about scripting, so that would be up to you and anyone else who may want to help in the future. And just to be clear (because I'm not the brightest bulb in the box), I don't need to get the "Time Cairn" correct? Also, do you know anything about animating? I could possibly be getting a new computer. If I do I'll be able to do more stuff for the mod. Like make animated flags and banners like in skyrim. I'm thinking I'll still use the Bruma flags, and make the city itself look like Whiterun. Also I will have to replace the guard armor to the Whiterun guard armor. Of course this is all relying on the fact that I do get a new computer. Now of course there is the possibility that I may just get skyrim. And mod skyrim, but I would make sure we finish this project first.
-
So what does the "Time Cairn" have to do with my request?
-
I was just wondering if you were gonna do any more buildings after the bruma middle 01. I wasn't sure if you were just going to do that one or all the bruma houses. And what were you planning on doing for cloud ruler temple? I was thinking of the temple where you have to meet the greybeards and I was just wondering what you had in mind. What is the "Time Cairn"? I couldn't tell from what description you had. Thanks again.
-
So, after this bruma one are u gonna be done doing this for me or would you be willing to do more?
-
Well, the mod you're currently working on looks pretty cool and wish you good luck. I can see what I can do to help with decoration and containers etc... but I probably wouldn't be able to do real architectural models until most of them are already done. If I get blender I'll look at the link you gave me and I'll try to do a building and some misc Items. You would have to tell me exactly how this is gonna work would I email you my models or keep them for myself? Also are you going to post these models on nexus if so (if I get blender) I would have to somehow give all the models that I make to you because I'm not a premium member and I don't plan on becoming one. As for the time frame just hopefully before the end of the year. It may not happen that quickly because I'm gonna be busy writing my book, and writing songs on the piano for another modder, then there's fathers day, and ton of other family plans around the summer months. And would I have to get anything for texturing or is that in blender? Thanks again for the help
-
I like it. When you said "Whereas the Skyrim one has 2350 polygons mine turned out to be 750." does that mean that it will just be smaller? How many models are you willing to do? I need all the Bruma ones redone and Cloud Ruler temples redone as well. If your not willing and/or you're too busy than that's fine. Thanks again.
-
Well, even though it doesn't take a lot of space I still won't be able to get it because my computer is really slow as it is, but a few mods won't hurt.
-
Of course I'd need more than just one. I would really like it if I had all of the buildings replaced with more skyrim type ones. And I may need other architectural items, such as fences, doors, city walls, rock walls, etc.. For right now just the buildings would do. What I really want is to make bruma look like whiterun and have the bruma castle look like Dragonsreach, but this requires new models which I can't make on my computer.
