  1. If you can, please help, this is driving me mad. Oblivion has been working like a dream for a good few days of RL gameplay, BUT (always a BUT with Oblivion...), I just played through the great "Unexpected Voyage" quest (IC waterfront), and then when I need to rest in the lower deck bed in order for the ship to go back to port, I get a CTD. I have checked online, apparently there is some glitch if you have the "Elven Maiden" quest active while doing this quest, however I don't have it active, and am not even a member of the Thieve's Guild... I also have the UOP of course, which is supposed to fix that glitch even if the quest was active. So, I am at a loss to discover the source of the problem. The only "mod" I recently installed was QTPRedimized - all other mods have been loaded for a while and I haven't had any problems. Tried deactivating QTP3R in OBMM, but still get the CTD (I wouldn't imagine a texture pack would have anything to do with this? Esp as my PC is running it fine with good FPS with minimum ~35-40 FPS). Anyone got any ideas? Mod list is:

  3. Hmmm, I think I'll leave it for the time being as everything seems to be working fine. However, I did come across something strange (only just started the game): I am using OOO, and went to a merchant in the IC, he was selling an ebony axe with attack rating of 6, and just underneath was an iron axe, with an attack rating of... 6?! o_O Is this normal?? I don't believe I have any other mods which would change weapon attack ratings, but I also find it hard to believe that the 2 weapons have the same attack rating. For info, my mod list is:
  4. Yeah I did use that pictorial guide, but some things conflicted with the TES4Positive guide... got a bit confusing. Thanks for the explanation though, it makes much more sense now. So really it's not going to affect game stability unless you have some serious conflicts? Guess I don't really need it then. Especially as I only have 20 or so mods active. Although maybe importing features into one esp will reduce load times/stuttering?
  5. Hello, I am fairly familiar with mods, OBMM, TES4Edit cleaning etc. However, I am having a HELL of a time getting to grips with Wrye bash. I recently tried to create a bashed patch, which promptly “broke” my game. In fury I deactivated the patch and uninstalled Bash as well as all of the unbelieveably annoying and cluttering python-related files I installed at the same time. My game now works absolutely fine. I was using ALL of the documentation I could find online, including the Wrye manual, TESPositive pages, and some others. Now the biggest problem I had was finding good, clear, basic documentation on how to build a bashed patch, why I would want to do it in the 1st place, what the difference with a “merged” patch was, and loads of other questions I had. In any case, the docs I did use didn’t give me enough information to really understand what I was doing or to fix it when I went wrong. So, I’d really like to know what I’ll be missing if I just carry happily on with my modded Oblivion game without using a bashed patch, as it seems to be working fine. Should I give it another go? Also, are there any really good, clear step by step guides for n00bs on how to create a bashed patch (I’m not interested in any other Bash functions really, OBMM is great and much easier to use). Really, ANY helpful suggestions, info or advice related to Wrye bash is gratefully received.
  6. Hello, Been doing a bit of very light mod cleaning with TES4Edit based on BOSS logs. I HAVE read the excellently well written help page on the CS wiki, but I'm still a little unsure about the following two esps which need to be cleaned: storms & sounds.esp rainbows.esp Now, I'm running Enhanced Weather, and I'm thinking that s & s is dependant on EW as the sounds it plays (indoors) will depend on the weather type outside, which is governed by EW. Rainbows I'm not so sure about, as it may just be adding something completely new to the oblivion.esm, but then again I think weather conditions determine whether a rainbow shows, so it probably is EW dependant?? In which case, I should load up EW in TES4Edit when I am cleaning both of those esps. (note TES4Edit doesn't load up EW automatically, so it clearly is not an explicit dependency). So, I hope you understand my thinking, but I'm new to TES4Edit so not sure about what to do, and would really appreciate some advice from more experienced users. Thanks!

  8. Hello, Having a strange problem: some settings, namely video and DarnUi settings, reset every time I restart Oblivion. Some of the video settings that are being reset are: - Water reflection - Bloom/HDR Some of the DarnUI settings that are being reset are: - 3rd person crosshair - Quest markers I'm running a few mods, including OOO and the Unofficial Patch (can give full list if necessary). Also patched to latest version whatever that is (downloaded the patch a couple of days ago). Any help would be appreciated as its a pretty tedious glitch. I'd imagine the fix may be something quite simple, but I'm generally pretty optimistic like that...
