  1. International and local standards should co-exist, ideally, that is. It doesn't have to be one or the other. What's just needed is a good knowledge in translating from one to another.

It's like this forum. It is an English forum. Everybody is encouraged to post in English, but the fact is, not everyone's first language is English. Nobody is being asked or imposed upon to give up on their native language, only that they post here in English as much as possible.

I think the two standards are like languages and each has it's own character and purpose.

  2. I sure did like the days when you could by a game like Total Annihilation and it came with a BUDDY DISC (aka Multiplayer Disc)....you hand the buddy disc to a friend, load up the game and play against each other right out of one box!

Like somebody else said, won't be surprised if map packs come out and you can't play on the servers until your map levels = server map levels like other games we know.

I used to be excited about this a long time ago simply because I liked Starcraft 1, but even then, I didn't play SC1 "that" long to become a fan boy. Sure, it was fun but tended to levitate to games I could modify and play how I like to...such as Total Annihilation and Star Trek Armada II.

I "might" end up getting this game but it certainly won't be anytime soon. I'll have to see how it goes once the hype has hit the floor and we see it for what it really is.

I guarantee you, if the technology ever gets to the point where you can "subscribe" to games over your TV without having to download anything, game-makers will be all over the pay-as-you-play (screen-scrape) model and utterly drop the PC...which will leave the market for Indies and OpenSource. That's one bit of technology I don't care to see anytime soon.

Oh, and yes, that is a nice movie/trailer. Nothing really to do with gameplay at all but still...nice production if you are into movies more than games.

    ditto. My thoughts exactly. :)

  3. Heh yes, there'll be more to come! P:

EDIT: Anyone knows a way to like...uh...remove ears?

As stated by someone, it's kind of disturbing that my character has...four ears to be precise, I didn't really liked either, but I kept it that way for a future comic (Trust me, it'll be hilarious!!!). However, I wish to remove them after the joke is done, so anyone knows how? ( It's a Moonshadow elve by the way! )

You can actually change ear meshes in the Construction Set. In the menu go to Character > Race. Then click on Moonshadow Elves on the window that pops out and click on the Face tab. Choices for meshes and textures are there.

  4. Found this on the mod's comments thread. Perhaps you could try it.

I'm using the FaceGen Demo 3.4 and get the same issue as that reported by Rhiana earlier. Free use of custom models is no longer possible.

If you don't want to ask SI for a one-time evaluation copy, you can get the models to work as follows (only one model set at a time):

    - Rename the "csamDefault" folder in your FaceGen directory to "csamDefault_old".

    - Then, rename the model folder you want to work with to "csamDefault"

I also found that this modification makes the photofit function available to custom model sets.
