  1. Little update - it's definitely related to killing with energy weapons. Perhaps it's an EVE thing?
  2. Hi folks, not sure if this is quite the right section. Now and then when playing, creepy music plays in my game for around 3-6 seconds. It's definitely not the wild wasteland music, it's much more sharp and ominous sounding. It's extremely irritating as it is several db louder than the game sound, so it's somewhat louder in your ear. It seems to occur at random. I just got it two times in a row for disintegrating some robo-scorpions, but the rest of the time it happens seemingly at random when exploring. I've noticed when I sometimes find skeletons, it'll play, but it's not consistent at all. Theres been times when I've been standing still for a second in an empty area and it'll play. There are no popups or messages related to it that I've seen. I've gone through all the MP3s in the sounds folders in my NV directory, none of them are this sound / music, so I'm not sure it's been added by a mod or not, hence why I'm asking here. Anyone any idea what this is? It is beyond irritating at this point (mostly due to the loudness). Any help is appreciated, thanks. 3. In New Vegas and I believe also in Oblivion, there is a console command that lets you alter your characters grab weight. What this changes is how much you can "pick up" physically in the game world. Not how much you can hold in your inventory. So for example, setting this very high would let your character pick up a corpse with a full set of heavy armour, and run at normal speed. Anyone any idea what the console command for this is in Skyrim? Been googling for 30 mins and cannot find anything on this. Thanks.
  4. I'll give this one bump. Been working on my own mod that does this during this afternoon.
  5. Hi folks. There was a mod for Oblivion that allowed you to sell just one item out of a stack by holding control or shift. Does such a mod exist for Skyrim? Been searching the Nexus for a while now and can't quite find what I'm looking for. Thanks. EDIT: I should add, even a mod that would give the appropriate XP gain from selling a stack of items (instead of the current system of just getting the XP for one item regardless of stack size) would be fine too.
  6. Hi folks. I recently reinstalled New Vegas and I am having a weird problem. I am level 40 something and I have just finished Dead Money and Honest Hearts. Returning to Goodsprings (and in fact the Wasteland itself) from Zion, my FPS seems to be locked at 30 where before I was getting solid 60 all the time (using v-sinc). If I save the game at Goodsprings store, restart the game and load the same save, the FPS problem persists. However, a WAY older save that I have, from when I was level 2, at the exact same spot seems to return my FPS to normal when loaded. So long story short, my level 40 something save has this problem, level 2 save doesn't. I haven't added or changed any mods since I started. And I this isn't a system issue I'm sure - 2500k @4.2Ghz, 8GB RAM, GTX 560ti 448 Core. Anyone any idea what the hell is going on? Cheers. EDIT: More detail : disabling AA and AF makes no difference. One thing I have noticed is that my save is now over 10MB in size compared to the rest. I don't suppose this is the issue (like Skyrim on the PS3)? EDIT 2: Nevermind, got it sorted. Turns out it was a mod called Meltdown Medley that was causing it.
  7. Hi folks. I just bought a new system and reinstalling NMM 0.15.15 and I am having a weird issue. Whenever I use the manager to select a certain mod, it automatically de-selects once I shut down NMM. Even if I don't boot into the game and just open NMM back up. Here is the mod in question: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/555978-increased-merchant-stock/ I have tried loading just Skyrim and the mod above, as well as renaming the mod and re-downloading it. Nothing works (and it can't be a conflict, happens when I load JUST that mod). Just to be clear, I only use the NMM to adjust my load order, I don't download with it. Has anyone else encountered this with any other mods? Or even the mod above? If so, did you figure out a way to solve it? I never had this problem until after my upgrade. But I don't remember if I was using 0.15.15 of the mod manager or an older build. Thanks. EDIT: I'm not sure if this is the right forum section to post this, so I apologize in advance.
  8. Howdy folks. There exists a mod for New Vegas called Increased Wasteland Spawns. It basically increases the amount of enemies spawned per "spawn point". So where there would be 4 raiders there are often 6 to 10. Does anything like this exist for Skyrim? My searches have been fruitless so far this morning. Thanks. EDIT: Nevermind found one, thanks.
  9. Thought I better post a follow up. With some kind help from Ely (from Ely's uncapper fame - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1175), the variable that effects what I was talking about is: fXPPerSkillRank Thanks.
  10. Hi folks, So I have been searching and I don't think the mod that I am looking for exists. So I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone knows how it could be done. EDIT: Thought I better mention that I think this is the right forum to post this, as it's something I'm probably going to have to put together myself. However, if it would be better suited to the requests forum could a kind moderator please move it there? Thank you. -------------------------------------------------------- Short Version: What I am looking for is a mod that directly effects the experience earned from gaining levels in a skill. For example, if I go from 49 to 50 in archery, my understanding is that I gain 50XP towards my next character level up. I am looking for a mod or way that would allow this value to be 50% or 25% of its calculated value. So instead of 50XP in the above example, I'd get 25 or even 12.5. Anyone any idea how I would go about achieving this? I'm guessing it's not going to be as easy as a console command. Thanks. -------------------------------------------------------- Extended Version: I understand that there is a skill XP variable that exists, using the following: k(x1.95)+C x being the current skill level and C indicating a different coefficient for each individual skill. However, this is no good to me. As it doesn't affect how much experience is gained from leveling a skill (such as archery, as mentioned above). Instead what it determines (in my understanding) is how many arrows you need to fire in order for the skill to increase. From what I can see, most level curve rebalance mods typically effect the following variables: fXPLevelUpBase fXPLevelUpMult Which are used as follows: Current level * fXPLevelUpMult + fXPLevelUpBase However, this is also no good to me as it does not directly affect the experience earned from leveling a skill. Only the "required amount" needed. So with this in mind, again, anyone any idea how I'd go about changing the XP earned per skill up? Big thanks if you bothered to read the long version, lol.
  11. In New Vegas/ Fallout 3 there was a console command that would let you change the speed at which your character moved while sneaking. It was along the lines of "setgs fmovesneakmult". The only variable I can find in Skyrim that is close to this is fSneakRunningMult. It doesn't affect my character speed when I change it however. I suspect it probably has to do with detection when running or something. Anyone have any ideas what the command is? Thanks.
  12. Topic really. I've been trying to stable my horse so the bloody thing won't follow me when I fast travel (and ruin my bloody sneak attempts). Can't see an option anywhere.
  13. Hi folks. I was wondering if there exists a mod that allows you to place any enchantment on any piece of non-unique armour? For example, I'd like to enchant my Dragonbone armour with a Magicka regeneration % enchantment, but currently the option is greyed out for me. Been searching the Nexus but can't find anything that quite matches what I'm looking for. Cheers.
  14. I know this isn't any help, but I have the same issue as yourself. Cannot map the side buttons on my Diamondback to do anything in Skyrim. I think it's going to need a patch.
