  2. For those interested im nearly finished with a true insanity difficulty mod. It's not as crazy one shot kill as the current Nightmare mod but I have found other ways to increase the difficulty to a truly challenging playthough. Max shields start at 100, regen is 2s with a 1 second delay (invest in your shield booster consumables, they will save your life) Base health starts at 50 with NO health regen. Enemy forces with have a much stronger presence in rank and number of spawns. Still working on enemy a.i but proving to be difficult, though seeing progress in standard Kett soldiers rushing your position to draw you out of cover while Annointed soldiers stay back in cover ready to kill with their automatic fire. I won't be altering enemy health nor shield strength as on insanity this only progresses to bullet sponge enemies in later levels of the game. (I recommended a weapon balance mod for this, there are two available on the nexus). Expect shields to go down in 2-3 well placed shots from standard Kett soldiers. Expect to die in 2-3 shots without shields. Haven't yet looked into Remnant a.i but will do so once Kett a.i is satisfactory
  3. I'm also playing with the balanced guns mod to reduce bullet sponge in insanity, but it's still obvious that enemy A.i or the number of enemy spawns is what will make this game harder

It's hard to say, I wouldn't say impossible but keep in mind I had high level hyperguardian armour with shield boosting augmentations and I'd still go down in one two shots from a standard Kett footsoldier. I've currently been playing with 100 max shield strength with slow regeneration, I'll take two shots to bring my shields down but one more and I'm dead. With no health regen. It's still extremely hard but I'm not dying every minute, maybe every 5 minutes
  5. Been using Nightmare mode but let me tell you, if you take one shot your shields are gone and likely 3/4 of your health. It's a very unforgiving mod. I've tweaked his shields from 50 to 100, I might increase base health a little as 5 is so low it's crazy
  6. I hope I'm not the only one who felt that XCOM had no real great beginning? In the tutorial you go to germany after the cinematic plays which is ok.. Not a terrible start to the game. On higher difficulty without the tutorial the opening cinematic plays and then suddenly you are on the skyranger touching down at an alien abduction site... The debriefer says "We are landing in ...... as there is alien activity being reported in the area." For me this game the xcom project no sense of a beginning. Its as though they have always existed? While there the annoying german scientist woman make a vague remark to "Alien life on planet Earth.. Ve are vwitnessing somsing never seen before in history". Thats it? Thats our grand introduction? Something is missing for me. Even the trailer does a better job of introducing the game with the news reporter.. Hopefully someone agrees and makes a new beginning mod!
  7. I don't imagine this kind of a mod request will spark many peoples interest as they will just say "Check out Xenonauts" but... I'm hoping some extremely talented modder out there remakes this new XCOM to be exactly like the original X-COM. Choosing where in the world exactly to place your base, time units, snap shot aimed shot auto shot... Pretty much the whole shebang. As well as music!   8. The title pretty much some up my request. Is anyone working on this? Fallout 3 really could benefit from the New Vegas weapons... Or is everyone still too in love with "apocalypse armory" to care?

  10. There are about 100 face-gen mods for fallout 3 Kakkeman, so I don't imagine it would be terribly hard to do. Fingers crossed someone has a go at doing it! I wouldn't know where to start. I don't know why NV makers literally decided to make the character face generation as absolutely butt ugly as possible. Double chins, wrinkled skin, droopy eyes... C'mon!
  11. I immediately found the character's face generation at the start of the game to be severely lacking. The pre-set faces of NV are so incredibly ugly, with little ways to change it. I suspect other players will have become attached to how their old character looks in Fallout 3 and will not like the changes NV offers. Hopefully someone can convert the Fallout 3 pre-set character faces over to NV? ~Echelon.
  12. Yeah, I'm just thinking one huge epic S.T.A.L.K.E.R mod.. All the mutants and most definitely the zombies they were awesome, all the human factions would be fantastic.. I get a bit sick of running into only raiders or supermutants. Anomalies would add a whole new level of danger to the wasteland. I love all the Fallout games, and i love both STALKER games. I think the atmosphere of STALKER combined with Fallout 3 would be mind blowing. I really hope an experienced modder with the same vision reads this and takes it on

To go along with my S.T.A.L.K.E.R request for a hunger/thirst/sleep system based to be that much like the stalker games, how well received would mod be that included all the mutants from stalker? I think the wild boars, flesh, that really crook mutant with the huge mouth that can cloak itself, the poltergeists, even anomalies would all fit perfectly into the Capital Wasteland.. I think it would add a tremendous amount of new game play. What does anyone think of this? By the way I have emailed Toxa regarding this so I am awaiting a reply
  14. I am pretty sure I have tried almost every Hunger/Thirst/Sleep mods for Fallout 3 available. Some are good, others bad, most are buggy. I loved the effectiveness of the hunger aspect in the STALKER games, and its simplicity. An icon of a knife and fork in the corner of the screen, changing from green to red the longer you didn't eat, eventuating in death. I don't know how to make this kind of mod, but I'll be looking into it in the future. In the mean time, does anyone agree on this and if so would they be willing to create this mod?
