  1. Does anyone have links to modder's resources with Japanese, Chinese, and Korean style buildings?

If you have a mod using these kind of models and want to allow permission for me to use them in my Akavir Land of Dragons mod it would be immensely appreciated as well as help the mod finish faster.

I've sank 8 years into my Akavir mod and feel like the only thing holding me back from really finishing it out is enough proper architecture models.

    Any help is appreciated.

  2. Well I got it into the game, and it retained all the details I wanted it to, only thing is that it's not 1:1 scale. So I separated the heightmap into 16 quads and that made it pretty close to 1:1 scale, but only the center 4 quads load. As I said in another post, BSTamriel is well over 4 quads, so it's possible to get this into the game, but I'm having to get help on the process from the guy who did the Tamriel map. It's going to be great having this in the game.

Thanks for posting this thread TV, it's helped me out a bunch. I think you should take a look at the site I linked for DEMs. The one I used was a lot more detailed. Thanks again, and if you know anyway to get 16 quads working in game, I'd appreciate it.

  3. I already said the DEM you suggested is the pic from post #41. That grayscale is just to show how much more detailed that DEM is compared to the one you linked. I guess I worded it weird. It can still be grayscaled, it's just the definition gets a little blurry. And is there a way to remove the hillshade effect? I saw that the Mojave Wasteland is 31, 31 as well, but that still shouldn't matter. I've made a mod that extends out past the map and it works. Check this guy Morcroft out: http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/806-common-worldspace-heightmap/ That's well over the 31, 31 norm, so I know it can be done piece by piece.

Here's the grayscale from that same DEM:

See how it has the Stadium's footprint(That's what I'm calling it), roads, and the land bridge I mentioned?

  4. I understand it will take a lot. On another forum, a guy did the whole continent of Tamriel for Skyrim. It's detached from the province of Skyrim, but it's still a huge worldspace. I think it's larger than my selected area.

I would settle for a smaller part of what I showed you, and use this chunk instead, since it's what I really need for the mod:

If you know how to get at least that section in as close to real scale as possible, I'd gladly accept the aid. Here's a google maps shot with street names if you want to look at the actual area: And here it is in the DEM I got from that Link I posted: You can see the roads, foundations, and the land bridge between Farb and the Youth Center(I used to live there). A problem I keep having with the DEM is that the hills are shaded and when you grayscale it doesn't work right. Also the scale, like you said. I separated the pic from my previous post into 16 quads and it's about right, the hills are too smooth and short though, and no land bridge or small elevation changes like the newer DEM.

Thanks for your quick response. This is a personal thing for me. I made a WIP mod of part of the area I want to make for FO3 and it made me want to have the real world height map.

Here's a link, the picture isn't what all was done, and the mod is in the tLandscape part of the game(probably wasn't a good idea): http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/12168

Now I've been trying to get this into FONV. I'm also modeling the old versions of the houses and buildings in the area. I really really want to get this mod made. Your help is greatly appreciated.

  5. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/194119-will-somebody-help-me-make-a-map/

I'm still trying to get this section of San Diego into game, but I can't get it in the right scale, or with the right amount of detail like my DEM has. Here's a link to the DEM I'm using:

    http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/dem/squareCellGrid/download/3542

I need this one because it has the roads and foundations for houses. It also has all the minor land elevations I need for the military housing area I mainly need. I'd like to get all of this pic into the game at it's real scale:

If anyone can help me get this into FONV I'd appreciate it.

  6. Thanks LordFrostCraig. That's what I was talking about. I use Valenwood Improved, Skyrim Improved, and Elsweyr Deserts of Anequina mods and they all have a few locations beyond the normal map. I would love to get mods for Black Marsh/Argonia, Summerset Isles, Hammerfell, and High Rock too. You know, the kind that allow you to walk to those provinces from Cyrodil. If anyone knows of any for those provinces let me know please!
  7. Well those mods aren't really what I'm going for. Would the Oblivion.ini file contain the map size? The guy who did the map that shows southern Elsweyr must have altered something to allow the map to go further south than it normally goes. But I also want to see northern Skyrim and southern Valenwood too.
  8. I meant the in-game map, not the landscape itself. You know, when you hit tab and check the map, but it won't go far enough in all directions(N, S, E, W) to see the fast travel icons in Northern Skyrim, Southern Valenwood, and Southern Elsweyr. Know what I mean?
  9. I was wondering how to make the boundaries around the in game map larger so I can fast travel to skyrim, valenwood, and elsweyr locations that are beyond the edge of the map. Also, I have tried combining several maps(all made by others) for a map of Tamriel that is in the style of the Oblivion Cyrodil map. Please let me know if you know the solution.
  10. Okay, my questions are:

    1. How do I get music into a certain interior? Like the strip joint in megaton. It has music playing inside it and I was making a rave club in megaton and wanted to know how to get the mp3s to play inside the club. Is there a limit to how many songs I can have? Can the loops of songs change? This answer will also help me with my Tierrasanta mod.

    2. What programs do I use to make new buildings and how do I get them into geck? I need to make some houses for the Tierrasanta mod and I don't know what 3d modeling program(free) to use to make the house's outer shape. I also need to make the interior walls and stairs too.

    3. How do I use a picture as a texture for a wall, carpet, grass, stucco, roof shingles, etc.? I have a bunch of old photos of the houses I'm trying to make and would like to use them to make the textures or bitmaps(not really sure what the right word is for what I'm thinking) for the walls and stuff.

    4. How do I import a height map into geck? I have a height map of the part of San Diego that I want to us for the mod but can't figure out how to get it into geck. I've been trying to use the landscape editing tool in the geck but it's taking forever.

I have tried surfing through the forum and the geck page but nothing really explains what I need to do in order to do this. Also, how do I make new clothes? I need to make some simple uniforms but don't know how to do it either. Any help would be appreciated. The mod(Tierrasanta) is a mod of my hometown and the general area around it. I want to make the five schools in the area, the shopping centers, the houses, and the parks and recreational areas for the mod.

  11. I was wondering how to use real images to make walls, doors, windows, roofs, carpets, paintings, posters, grass, cement, sidewalks, roads, and anything else like that. My mod is of a certain suburbs in real life and showing it before and after it was remodeled. I prefer before. So how do I use photos of the area to do textures and skins for walls, etc.? I don't mind if it's just 3d boxes with skins at this point in time as long as it's my photos. Any one who knows how to do this simply and effectively and who can lay it out for me in detail would be appreciated.
  12. Hey an idea came to me for Futurama related mods. The alien blaster looks like some of the guns in the show and I've always wanted a bender companion. In fact, the mod could just be bender and I'd be happy. Leela might be hard to pull off as an attractive NPC cause of her eye. Someone has already done Amy Wong. Zoidberg would be great too. You could take sound clips from the show like bender saying "bite my shiny metal ass!" or Zoidberg's noises. You could also have the professor there to give quests from the show so you could use his voice(always thought Dr. Lesko was Billy West's voice). So here's a list of what I would want in the mod:

    - Locations like Planet Express, Bar, the sewers that the mutants live in, interior of the ship, and maybe some others.

    - NPCs of Fry, Leela, Bender, Professor, Amy, Hermes, Zoidberg, Scruffy, Calculon(must have!), Wornstrum, Nibbler, Zap, Kif, Roberto(crazy robot with knife also must have), and maybe Morbo.

    - Weaopons like the lightsaber batons, ray guns, broken beer bottle(for bender or hell just for fallout), Roberto's knife, um can't think of anymore rite now.

    - Outfits for the player character of all the Futurama NPC's outfits, and some of the robots so your player character can look like them too.

If anyone out there has the ability to do this I'd be grateful. Let's get this going.

  13. Hi ya.

I've been modeling for about 1 year now. You can check out where I post the most,

    http://www.fookunity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=923&page=12

    and

    http://www.fookunity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=970&page=12

Lots of stuff in there, old and new.

Working on some more models to add to my website which I very recently updated,

    http://cahemdue.net

The purpose of this thread, intended lol, is for me to show off what I've done and if you want something modeled [put some constructive thought into it. I've done this before so don't just should out something liek Halo Battle rifle omg plz. No disrespect but I get those kinds of things a lot. And I HAVE made a battlerifle but that's off-topic.]

The other purpose of this thread is for a few weeks [at least lol] at probably months I want requests to come in so I can keep busy. I'm the kind of guy who is happy when he is busy. I can't nap or really relax unless I'm reading or actually doing something. Modeling is something I really latched on to and am going full-speed when I have free time and I really like making weapons and things like that. For Fallout3 I've made watches and alien weapons and things like that. I play no Fallout3 really because it CTDs constantly, patched and all that. I play Oblivion a lot more so I thought why not post over on the nexus so maybe my work can go into an Oblivion mod or I can help out others? So here I am.

I just downloaded a bunch of sword images and plan to work on them tomorrow, brand new stuff. Some low poly and some higher stuff, maybe portfolio quality if it comes down to it and I'm really feeling the model.

I am learning to texture in Photoshop CS4, learning about normal maps and things like that. I'm still really raw but I'll get the hang of it eventually. Probably during the summer time when free time IS ALL I have lol.

Thank you for reading my thread and I will post new images and stuff tomorrow. Check out the threads and my site so you get an idea of my quality level. I have low quality models on the site, requests from the past, and new models as well as portfolio work of a non-downloadable nature.

    Cya.

Hey I really want some models done for a fallout 3 mod I'm working on. I need 3d models done for about 12 different variations of military housing that all have really basic design and colors. I can get you some photos I have and some textures I was trying to make. I'd really appreciate the help.

  14. Elsweyr, the Deserts of Anequina has that.

I mean for the whole map, Cyrodil, Elsweyr, Morrowind, and skyrim if possible. So when you're just exploring you see diversity among the khajiit, argonian, and tang mo races. Like how all the different elves seem to populate the imperial city. Also for Elsweyr I'd like to be able to walk around riverhold and see regular Khajiits, tabby Khajiits, siamese khajiits, snow leopard khajiit, clouded leopard khajiit, khajiit suthay, kajiit raht, ohmes khajiit, tabaxi, skyrim khajiit, gray khajiit, black khajiit, and so on, but! with all their textures working. And then the same for argonians(can think of 2 variations but maybe there's more) and tang mo(3 variations so far but could use a snow tang mo).

    That would be great.

  15. Sorry, but no one will write dialogue for me...

If it wern't for that small problem I would already have the whole thing done. And not just some short halfased attempt either, I'm talking about fully dynamic dialogue with multiple paths that add variety and choice to it.

    http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm98/Supernaut14/diagram1.jpg

If it doesn't have to be Shakespeare quality than I could write some dialogue for you. Just let me know what you're going for first. I'll try writing some drafts already.

  16. I've been playing Oblivion and Fallout 3 for awhile and recently found the nexus sites and I was wanting a mod for the khajiits and argonians that has all their races populating the cyrodil and elsweyr regions. This would be great for when walking around cyrodil or elsweyr, you'd get to see all the varieties of khajiits and argonians. The slof khajiit textures are the best and the tabaxi race would need to be included. The tang mo could be included too. It would be a great addition to the game. I'm kinda bored with the mainly human populace. However this mod should only add characters not replace. Any thoughts?
