  1. To me, I'd have to say an invasion of Dragons/Akaviri sounds most likely. Dovahkiin sounds like one of the Akaviri languages. "No-one wanted to believe they existed" sounds like the seeming refusal to mention them, and its impossible the player's Martin's son/daughter as TES V takes place 200 years after Oblivion. Just my thoughts.
  2. Well, put it this way, if you made a mod like this: I would use it. If you made it a bit like this: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31734 with nature claiming it and stuff like that, it would be good. For even more immersion, how about, after you end the oblivion crisis, there'll be signs by the imperial legion saying to keep away as they would be fixing it (or something along those lines). Just my personal ideas though.
  3. Just read AGAIN in the technical support section of uesp that if you are using HDR, setting internal shadows to 0 (in the video settings ingame) might work.   4. I just read somewhere that its sometimes caused by UOP. try disabling HDR though.
  5. That's good, but if you don't want to spend pretty much every second after entering an exterior, you may want to uninstall the UOP. If you're fine doing that though, you can keep all the handy fixes UOP introduces. Your call. Edit: try turning off HDR
  6. Ok, a few questions, Do you have an nVidia graphics card? Have you used BOSS to sort your load order? If you turn off HDR, does it still happen? If you open the console and type, "cal", does it go away? If all else fails, uninstall the UOP and see if that works. Then if its still there (it's known to be a persistent bug) try using that nVidia black fog fix I showed you in the earlier post, on its own.

  10. Aww... my masterplan didn't come together. :( Anyway, glad you managed to fix it, thanks for the kudos. As for your problems with crashing on exit, if you use obse, go into the src folder, move the obse folder (on its own) to oblivion\data if you haven't already. Inside the obse folder, create a plugins folder (if there isn't one already), download this: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22410 Put the dll file into your plugins folder, and you should be fine, no crashes :) Note: you will have to run it with the obse_loader.exe anyway. If you run with OblivionLauncher.exe the dll won't take effect at all.
  11. Ok, the first thing I want you to do is go and download Notepad++ for editing these .xml files. Also, could I just clarify, Do you have Darnified UI or Dark UI DarN? Hmm... new idea. Go make a backup of your oblivion.ini. Then, could you post the values you have for, under [menus] iconsolefont and idebugtextfont (i really freakin hope thats right, I've spent ages trying to work this out)

  13. Never Underestimate the power high-end texture mods have on your computer. That comes from someone who has a computer which can run Crysis on maximum settings but can't even handle Tamriel Viewable when Distant. Just install streamline, try it out. See if it makes any difference, and if it does, you know you've gone over the top a bit (don't we all :P). And anyway, its not like its going to hurt the look of your game, it makes no difference to the graphics. As for your problem with Beautiful people, try creating an OMOD using the archive file and OBMM. I am not sure if it comes with omod conversion data since I don't use BP. To me it just looks too difficult to install.
  14. Taken from the Unnecessary Violence page: UV's esm provides several tools for other mod makers to make use of. Most important of these is an animation lock. OB's engine will cause a CTD if more than one animation is played on a given actor at any given time. Might have something to do with it. Not sure though Also, to clear up any thoughts you might have: UV and DR play together very nicely indeed, since UV adds a lot of additional attack types but in no way touches the vanilla combat system, UV nicely fills that gap. What version of NifScript are you using? And you might aswell list all of your obse plugins, they can act strange sometimes too And I also wish to reiterate yeldarb's point. You dont need either of those mods. Quick question which I myself am not sure about. 98-99 Do you need OOO 1.32-cobl if you have FCOM-Cobl? Small note aswell: I dont think Tamrielic Ingredients is compatible with Cobl, infact i think its already included What is Fun.esp? That's all I can think of, I'll check a few things to see incompatibilities... later maybe.
  15. If DarN is anything similar to DarkUI DarN (which I have) you should be fine using notepad to edit the xml's (I'm not sure which one, sorry). Also, if you can reinstall it using OBMM if you have it as an OMOD, you could be able to change that font that way. (as I said I'm going by DarkUI DarN, so this might not be totally accurate) Hope i've been atleast a tiny bit helpful.
  16. Try deleting or moving anything in, by default (so yours may be different) Documents/My Games/Oblivion. This will contain all the previous saves (you might want to keep those) and the oblivion.ini (configuration file) with the settings from your previous installation. Oblivion should make a new ini when it first starts but make a backup just in case. Good luck :)
  17. Hmm... that is weird. Now that I've restored it to the defaults, its working. It didn't seem to earlier, must have been something to do with OBSE plugins. Well... where to go from here? I don't like playing modless. Any ideas what the problem mod might have been? Oh yes and would have given you kudos, but I already have.

  19. Well, when I was running, I think it was "The Complete third person view" mod or something, that happened to me. My game was buggy though, so whether that was intended I'm not sure. EDIT: It was Ultimate 3rd Person Camera mod.
  20. Hey people. Just started creating my new modlist. I don't think this is necessarily a mod problem, but rather an ini problem, but anyway. I was just editing it in tweakoblivion for the first time, and managed to screw it up so that the water was practically non-existant and the grass kept disappearing. SO, I tried to get my backup in, which didnt work, and then deleted it, thinking it might make a fresh one when it started up. It did, but it didn't work. Then, I tried resetting the dates, load order, lod and stuff in desperation. No avail. So, I finally accepted I'd have to reinstall. Did that. And Bashed and Bossed and OBMMed but it was no use. So, I decided to make this. Notes: I am running the English fully patched disc version of the game.   21. Hey people. Just started creating my new modlist. I don't think this is necessarily a mod problem, but rather an ini problem, but anyway. I was just editing it in tweakoblivion for the first time, and managed to screw it up so that the water was practically non-existant and the grass kept disappearing. SO, I tried to get my backup in, which didnt work, and then deleted it, thinking it might make a fresh one when it started up. It did, but it didn't work. Then, I tried resetting the dates, load order, lod and stuff in desperation. No avail. So, I finally accepted I'd have to reinstall. Did that. And Bashed and Bossed and OBMMed but it was no use. So, I decided to make this. Notes: I am running the English fully patched disc version of the game.   22. Thanks both of you for the help. Kudos Given. @Fonger: Quiet feet max. I just read that denock arrow was in cobl, gonna remove that from the list. Also gonna remove nvidia blackscreen fix. Just as a question, will I need to install the Natural Interiors version over the UOP version if I decide to get that mod? @Yeldarb Which fixes will those be? Just so I can remove them. Also, I don't have morrowind so I can't install morroblivion, but I thought that was illegal also? Finally the main reason I want to install race balancing project is for Intergration: the stranded light (which I think is awesome) so its one which may take priority over elsewyr, even though that mod is really good. I'm guessing it will cause conflicts with khajiits and the new khajiits added by both mods? Note: Will Miknmel's Improved *insert town name here* work with better cities? Should I use the rainbows in tamriel mod? I read that there are rainbows in natural weather, but I havent seen them I have seen lots of Luchaire's UI mods, and they look very nice. Will they work with Immersive Interface Notes: I will be using obse This is not the load order i'll be using (i'd be screwed if it was) I usually know about patches/SI versions. I know some of these don't yet have UI patches, but I will use the non-UI mod instead and wait patiently for a patch ;) I'm going for a Very High but not Maximum detail game, which is why I have so many texture mods and fps patches As for my mod knowledge, I know quite a bit but not everything about using and them (and nothing about making them :P) I am running an english GOTY version (disc version, no digital downloads and definately no torrents) Ok I think and hope that's everything, if there's something you don't understand or I have missed, just ask.   24. 10. Mount & Blade. This, I think, really is a gameplay-based game. It has probably the best combat engine out there and the graphics really aren't that bad, seeing as, as far as I know of, it was made by a one man team. 9. Dragon Age: Origins. Possibly one of my favourite game-worlds, with definitely some of the best characters I have come across in a game. Really really good game. 8. Tachyon: the Fringe. Really understated game in my opinion. Space based combat for those that don't know, and I thought it was really ahead of its time back in 2001. My hopes for a sequel have kinda died down though :( 7. Medieval 2: Total War: Best RTS I've played. Great. 6. Morrowind: There are some things about this game which can't be beaten. Gameworld, scale, graphics I can't bring myself to dislike. The only thing about this game is that its almost too non-linear, but its still an amazing game. 5. Deus Ex: This game is still better than most games coming out this year, and its a decade old! This game is truly magnificent. 4. Fallout 3: Put it this way. This game is perfect for what its trying to achieve. The only reason why its not no.1 is because the Fallout world is not my favourite. 3. Crysis: The graphics.... Wow... plus the game... Speechless. 2: Tes IV: Oblivion: This highly moddable and beautiful game is mesmerising, in true Bethesda style. 1: Mass Effect 1 & 2: No words can describe them.
