anyway, I feel there's a lot to criticize about criticism. it has a fair amount of hypocrisy, self contradiction, paradoxes and half truths about it.

some say you should heed it, because it's important, yet some say you should ignore it, because it's mostly worthless hurtful slander, some say you should filter the good from the bad, but i doubt most people do that. I mean, I don't do that, and I don't get too much criticism... now imagine you're famous in one way or another. filtering seems way too much work for someone successful.

This rings true. so, critique may even have nothing to do with the thing it's concerning.

taking criticism with pride is beautiful, but justifiably standing up to critics is also an appreciated act.

i've heard people saying not being criticized doesn't mean you have something so great no one can find flaws in it, it means you have nothing at all. however i've seen horrible creations being criticized and great creations not being criticized... so that statement's not true.

everybody looks wrong from the right angle, so it's not anything to be proud of, however most critics have some form of superiority complex.

true. his instrumentation is superb, and he uses popular chord progressions, so he's always one of the best in the public's eye. however due to his using popular chord progressions, among other things, he never gets an Oscar :(
