from the gist of the stuff you two talked about, though, i'm with brok on this one. there are enough smart, realistic and affectionate relationships written, acted and animated with no sexual overtones or acts for me to know there's no need for sex to make an audience feel the affection between two characters. it's obviously just a little "somethin' somethin'" for girlfriend-less individuals.

That's exactly the case with most "undiscovered" or "ignored" genres. They make you really attentive and conscious to what you hear.

I keep myself relatively isolated from most music so it doesn't affect my own, and so, my palette is really impressionable and sensitive. Whatever song I hear, I analyze and disassemble, and then later on I sort of "hear" that song in my own works. The analysis part may be an interesting thing to do, but it gets really tiring...
