Hey guys!
Can anyone make a mod to unlearn wizard spells? The game doesn't let you lvl up if you don't choose new spells, but if you already know them, you're stuck! And you can't unlearn spells learned from scrolls.

Hey there!
Is there anyone that can (re)create Xan's Moonblade, from BG1?
The stats:
- Longsword - it should be the length of a scimitar/rapier, because in BG1, in AD&D rules, the BG3 longsword was a bastard sword - there is a mod that changes the scale of BG3 Longswords to something like an old-school longsword that's called "longsword Blade resize" by wolfe00, and it's still versatile
- Versatile, Finesse and Light Weapon (in BG1 it was wielded as a dagger)
- +3 enchantment (so it's legendary)
- +1 to AC
- Fire Resistance 50%
- Flaming sword (blue) - I'm guessing it can be done with VFX Library by Shivero (Part 1) - maybe a lightsource or fire damage?
- Other enchantments (it's suposed to be a mage's weapon):
1) Add the spellcaster modifier to damage (stacks with str/dex) or maybe create an attack that does weapon damage + 1d6/spellcaster modifier fire (or maybe the 2 versions, and we can choose wich one to download and use);
2) Cantrips can be cast as Bonus Actions
For the appearance, i'm posting pictures of it (I don't own the pictures, any copyright is reverved to it's owners).
I'm not sure that those "horns" that sprout from the guard to the hand are "battle-handy", because let's be honest, one of them could be a hand guard (like some rapiers/scimitars have) but the other is directly over the hand/forearm of the wielder (see one of the pictures I post). So I would suggest removing one of them (the one directly above the hand/forearm) or greatly reducing their size so they are only in the guard (like a moustache) or, maybe, instead of going downward they go upward.
And the blade should be all full and straight, that reduction at the start of the blade near the guard could would weaken the blade and make it easier to snap/break from that point.
So what do you guys think? Is it doable? Any suggestion?

Unfortunatly, Twizzler and Ghosu arent responding to my PM :S
I would try to get the files from them and pass them to another one wiling to continue the work
I refuse to admit this is dead, it was a great idea, we already had 2 models implemented ingame, we just needed some scripting.
I'll try to PM them but I would ask of all you that would love to get these swords, PM to Twizzler77 and ghosu and ask if they can release the files.

Sry but i can't continue my work right now and/or reply to all PMs...my state of health is not good atm, had a little jaw surgery lately and a bigger one is coming up and i need to fix several other things so i can't spend time on modding right now. Not sure if i continue my work, if not i might upload my WIP as modder's ressource - not sure atm.
However, i'll give you a rough idea how it works so you can continue your mod (my files are in a quite chaotic WIP state so they won't help you much)...
I'm using 2 models.
1. NIF = sword with textures, the default sword ingame.
2. NIF = same model but the texture uses an alpha channel to show only the runes and eyes, the rest of the model is invisible. It uses an glowing map as well...when you shout ingame it blends in the 2.NIF, overlays the original runes and disappears after a few seconds. It uses shader effects like a bound weapon.

This thread has rallied so much interest, to save time to our busy modders, we need someone that can:
- Explain/Build the glowing magic effect that Ghosu figured out.
- Create the shout with custom enchantments:
My ideia on the words/enchants were these:
- Grah (Battle) - Gives 50% armor piercing ability (it's a script ability);
- Dov (Dragon) - 1 handed version could have a Fus Roh Dah effect with every power attack / the 2-handed version could have the bloodskall blade ability with power attacks;
- Zoor (Legend) - Absorb 30 Health+Stamina+Magicka (it's a high level weapon!)Thnx!

Yeah, things have been crazy. Turns out having 2 young kids and a 3rd in the NICU makes life very complicated! But all is well. :smile:
Anyways, the sword is done. The only part I'm stuck on is getting it it glow like Ghosu's example. I've got some sort of magic effect on that activates after using the shout, but it's not an enhanced/increased glow. If anyone has any pointers on which effect that is, I'm all ears!

It was I who needed the DLC. Fortunately, I did buy it last week and look forward to getting this wrapped up!
I have no updates on this as life has been very busy, including but not limited to the earlier-than-expected arrival of our 3rd son over the weekend. When things calm down, I will be back to finishing this up. I don't know when that will be, unfortunately.
I apologize for the wait. I am eager to finish, so it will be finished. Sooner rather than later, I hope. :smile:

Minor update on the textures.
Unfortunately, I've hit a roadblock with getting the sword linked to shouts. I don't have any of the DLC which I believe is required. (I couldn't find any similar scripts in Vanilla...). So until I can get the DLC (soonish hopefully!), this will be put on the backburner unless someone wants to take the source files and run with it. Just let me know!

Finally got more than 20 minutes to mess around with this. It's been a very busy 2 weeks with family and work!
Still to do:
- Glow map (It's done, just need to do read up on shaders to get it working with environment map.)
- Linking shouts, etc. to the sword (I still haven't opened the CK yet. Yikes...)
- Fix seams on blade.

Keep up with the good work! I've said it before, and i'll say it again, thnx for the support, the response from everyone is amazing, your swords are going to be one of the most downloaded mods, they're just perfect!
All of this is impressive guys. Hotemochick, ghosu, and twizzler, thanks to each of you for picking this up and doing your own versions! They all look good in their own right. Although, I must admit, twizzler, that high-poly is gorgeous!
I love when modders get this active. :biggrin:

I have a problem...
All steel swords in my game appear very thin, like they were all stretched!
I thought this was caused by a mod, but in the Creation Center and opened only the Skyrim .esm, and the preview of the sword, with no mods, is still streched.
Any ideas about what's causing this? I've searched the web for similar posts but i didnt find anything

Did yall get it to work with the shout and make it glow? The most important thing would be to link it with that shout and a power script that ramps up with dragonsouls absorbed. Is that impossible?
There are a few powers that work that way and are hidden in dragonborn dlc. There is one that you can call one spectral dragon for each 5 dragonsouls you have, i think

Nope just tweaked the texture a bit and added a dragon sound to the shout...quite busy in real life atm so i have no time to continue my work, i'll try to find one or two free hours next week to finish it. greetings

you know... my idea is you have it put onto an alter of some kind and then you shout at it. then it takes the aspect of that shout (depending on how strong it is and your level) Like firebreath gives you a fire enchant, soul tear gives you, bansih summon/deatea and soul steal, unrelenting gives knockback chance.
and what would be cool is if depending on the the strengh of the shout, it also does that "Hoggith" sword effect. if it is even moddable to it. (also on that topic I want an enchantment that allows me to put that kind of effect on other swords and maybe even differnt elements.
though I personaly would find a bit troublesome going to the altar everytime i would want to change the enchantment, it's a good idea.
Hoggith effect? what's that?

Ran into some minor issues with Nifskope. Looks like the version I'm using is trashing UVs. So when I get more time tomorrow, I'll hopefully be getting this into game.

I was originally sticking with steel since that was what the reference calls for. But I guess the in-game sword would be ebony (Daedric influences). I can make the appropriate adjustments sometime this week if you feel it's warranted. Texture adjustments are pretty quick.

The blade length is most likely attributed to the FOV of the previewer program I use. I'll double check when I get home but the blade takes up a significant portion of the overall length. The screenshot(s) doesn't really do it justice.
Steel is nice too, dont get me wrong, it can be skyforge steel ;) I was thinking something blackish with red waves (like the oathbreaker from The Song of Ice and Fire aka Game of thrones), but that's me, i'm open to any thoughts and ideas
I had a feeling that your blade length "problem" could be caused by FOV (it really looks a bit small), because the mesh you first showed us had the length just perfect, a nice and solid longsword. Can you upload another POV to dispel any doubts?

It would be cool if using any number of words, a unique enchantment is unlocked - similar to the Bloodskal blade. If you do a power attack a "Fus Ro" level shout is launched from the blade staggering most enemies in a small AOE.
This would give this blade a truly unique feel to it. We can already enchant other swords with elemental, absorb health, etc. enchantments. A small level Unrelenting force effect would be balanced and give the sword a Dragonborn feel to it.
Nice idea! I agree with you, this baby should have unique enchantments, as we all can enchant comom swords with all other enchantments. As I've said before, the only thing i really want is the ability to increase damage per dragonsouls absorved and the enchantment to ignore 50% armor.
So yes, I can easily imagine the dohvakiin shout 2 words of the "Power of the ancients" and then blow everyone away with a power attack - this is a legendary weapon, after all!
