  2. Which of the symmetric blades do you prefer? I'm kinda feeling Version B, myself. You mean the dragon skull on the hilt? I actually suck at stuff like skulls so I just took a screenshot of the Dragonsreach skull and traced it. ;D Personally, I'm not really in favour of crafting it in any way. It is my conviction that powerful special weapons should be unique, old and preferably found deep in some ancient dungeon or pulled out of a stone or something. In fact, for all the weapons forging my characters does, I feel that Smithing kinda sorta ruins the game for me since you always end up making stuff that's more powerful than actual artifacts like Dawnbreaker or the Ebony Blade. It kinda cheapens the whole thing, you know? Even if the cooldown for Rage of the Ancients is instant, that would still mean you'd have to shout, then switch shout, then use the new shout, in order to make full use of the ability. Seems a bit cumbersome, I think. Thing is, if I found this sword early on, I would literally never use any other sword, for the rest of the entire game. Because what would be the point of that? We're essentially talking about Dovahkiin's own personal Excalibur here. How to put this... I think there is value in pacing these things properly. I think there is value in going through that early stage when you are just some guy using cheap gear you looted off a bandit, and then improving progressively. Yet I actually can't recall ever even using the iron sword, because I always go with Ralof which means an Imperial sword right from the start and anyways, by the time you reach Riverwood you can probably buy a steel one. And that's really kinda unfortunate, because it means they could simply have skipped the iron sword all together. So, if I made this mod, you would have to work for this sucker. Preferably as part of a questline, culminating in a high level dungeon where you need to have hunted down several shouts just to proceed. (Because, you know, this sword was made exclusively for a Dragonborn wielder.) A sword like this, I think, you need to earn. I agree, you make a valid point, this is a high lvl item and you should sweat your pants off to get it! I wouldnt discard the crafting idea, though ;) You could also have a nasty high-lvl crafting quest, like contacting a ghost of an ancient dragonborn to get the quest, diving in some dwemer ruin to learn the secrets of epic weaponmaking, climbing a mountain to get a piece of a fallen meteorite, smelting the blade in dragon's breath (you'd have to be burned :P), chasing a wyrm across skyrim to get the materials to forge the grip and handle, throw in a few gems, and voila, an epic sword :P But I second a high lvl dungeon or a fight in another plane, or reading a book and get the sword as part of the "storyline" (using the same mechanic as in dragonborn DLC) What's your opinion on my view of the enchantment? I will look into it. I was thinking the same thing, with maybe a fog like effect on top of it (like the old Lich Kings sword mod from Oblivion) in red. I'm working on the hilt currently. The blade itself has been finished. Maybe I'll do all three versions if I have the time. Very nice ideas! Could you show us a new picture of the sword? I've seen the picture in your threat, thnx, it was still in early work ;) i personaly prefer version B with the grip from page 4 of this thread
  3. Well, I dont want to overburdend anyone that decides to make this mod, the ideia and the sword are already in the game, just hidden. I just suggested a new mesh for it because it has great potential! If anyone that makes this blade wants to make more weapons of the dragonborn, it would be nice, indeed! but i'm content with just the sword...that alone has proven to be a problem for it's creation :P Hmm...this is a sword that unlocks it's true nature when a specific shout is used, the "power of the ancients", but i guess we could have other interpretations of the power. Personaly, i would like this sword to be a item you could get in the beggining of the game and you could achieve it's perfect form with a shout, maybe a new power per word used. I would also loved to see the sword enhance it's offensive capabilities with the power of the dragonsouls you absorb (there is already a sword in the nexus that does that). So, a new power for each word of the shout (max three powers) and the damage output increasing for each soul you absorb (with a max, of course)

  6. NICE!!!! :D Very nice design, congratz! Though I prefer the left side being identical to the right side of the blade, it's simply gorgeous! And you read my mind, I also was thinking to myself that the sword should be a bit larger than the steel sword. I like your suggestions for the materials, and i'll make my own...the blade could be something made out of the skyforge MANY years/centuries age, some skyforge ebony. Like Valyrian Steel, a metal somewhat blackish, or like the Oathkeeper, black with red waves, i dunno :P I'd change the ring in the middle of the grip, that looks like it can hurt the weilder's hand after a few swings. Very nice work! Oh man, someone HAS to pick up this project!!!!

Well, I was checking Dragonborn DLC in the Creation Centre when I came across this sword: Zahkrii Do Dovahkiin, a daedric-looking one handed sword that has this description "The swords true power can only be unlocked by the Thuum of the Dohvakiin." With more research, I found a magic effect called "Rage of the Ancients" (dlc2dbrageofancientseffect). Then I found this in thew web, by "darkwizard3533": "Hidden dragonborn stuff darkwizard3533 Posted 2/18/2013 8:37:44 PMi think ive seen some of this mentioned elsewhere but has anyone dug through any of the dragonborn hidden extras ( you can use the creation kit/console/ or secret room). theres some pretty cool stuff in there. spells to summon spectral dragons, conjure any army of ancient dragonborn that are all capable of individual shouts. essentially they dominate lol. you get 1 more spectral dragonborn for every 5 dragon souls you have unspent. one handed lightning storm.........and some of the spells have an affect that make use of parts of hte dragon aspect animation to make it look like power surges through your body as you cast they spell. most of its functional, some of it incredibly overpowered but some balance tweaking and and finding a reasonable place for it in the game and it would fit in just fine. not sure why it was left out. the most interesting thing is the zahkrii do dovahkin which is a one handed longsword (uses daedric artwork as placeholder) that has the description that your Thuum makes the sword stronger. well doing some digging in the creation kit i found that the basic framework exists for the concept. if you give yourself the sword in game via console or secret room you will find that no existing shout in the game as any effect on the sword except for elemental fury but thats because the sword in stock form is counted as unenchanted. the framework for the description is in place, theres a word of power for rage of the ancients, which is the shout that was supposed to trigger this sword but no shout was ever created. the rest of the framework is in place the only thing needed to trigger the effect is a shout. well i did that i made a quick shout went in game and it worked just fine. sword was triggered when i used my rage of ancients shout and it started glowing red. but thats all it does, because if you look at the effect in the creation kit it doesn't appear to have been finished. it is set to be a script effect (like auriels bow or something) but there is no script attached. basically its not very hard to complete, you could toss in a few effects and make this actually do something if you just want to do some extra damage or have some sort of drain effect on it. but because they had it set as a script effect initially it makes me think they had something far more elaborate planned (eg: auriels bow). but the way its setup and labeled makes it sound as if they intended for there to be a whole set of weapons that could be powered with a shout or shouts. i just found this interesting and wanted to post some thoughts and get input as to what other people think. i wonder why they stopped half way, i like the idea and i think it would have gone over really well. /blogfaqs lol" "Zahkrii Do Dovakhin" translates "Sword of the Dragonborn" Can anyone make something of this???? The Sword has to remain unenchanted for a shout to work. My suggestion, a shout that makes the sword glow and do fire+lightning+ice+wind+sun elemental damage. And maybe a force push when the sword hit something. And this unique sword must have an unique mesh... Any ideas?? Thnx

You should post this info in Dragonborn's Unnoficcial Patch and on FNIS :D PS: And yes, I was getting the blade in the console, when i picked it up from the corpse, it worked. I think that the corpse doesn't has ONLY the blade, but ALSO that invisible "BloodskalProjectileWeapon, i dunno"

  19. It's working!! I was getting the blade with the console, that didnt work, but then i went and made the quest, when i got the sword from the corpse, it worked!
  20. My bloodskal doesnt shoot energy blades. I've deleted all mods, it didnt work Any ideas? Thnx
  21. Clean install, clean save, no mods, added the blade via console, and it doesnt work

It seems that there is a "DLC2BloodskallProjectileWeapon", that we cant use, try using the command "help bloodskal" and "page up" until you find it Last resort: I will try uninstalling the game...maybe later :S I can't find anything on the net about this bug, but i've seen in the "unofficial dragonborn patch" comments some people complaining about not releasing the horizontal blade :S And kudos on your bound sword, though :P lol
  23. Well, i've tried to use bloodskal's script on the sword, i used the enchantment a ring, with no success. Seriously, something's not right. I use ATTK, btw
  24. Well it could be relevant as something must be overriding it. I tried to uninstall and the similar mods that we have and still doesn't work. It most likely isn't a mod. It's very strange, If only we could get one person that has a working bloodskal check it out in the creation kit, maybe we could get some answers
