  1. Short and to the point, ok. I guess you're sure about it. What about the effectivity of it? If there is nothing loading between the master files is it actually necessary? Because it is kinda annoying that steam might reset them at some point and you have to redo it. EDIT: Mh ok I just found this. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/5xh5b6/guide_manual_cleaning_master_esms_for_skyrim_and/deim7q2/ Seems about how I thought. So, no cleaning masters anymore. XP
  2. Ok, so stupid question: If I clean my master files will that break precombines? Could there actually be a reason for at least some of the ITM records in bethesdas files for fallout 4? So, for ages I thought fallout 4 just has really bad performance. When I started modding and playing it again recently I learned about precombines and how breaking them completely destroy performance. So I paid a lot of attention to not f*** them up more than necessary. I went through all the weapon mods I use and deleted all the worldspace edits. Did this with some other non-weapon mods but obvsiously not with mods that really rely on the worldspace edits. Or with mods where the worldspace edits are the whole point of the mod. Then I noticed that loot tells me my master files aren't cleaned. ( There was a fallout 4 update inbetween my modding efforts: 1.10.300 -> 1.10.380 ) So, I didn't pay attention and triggered the update at some point. No big deal. I updated F4SE and all mods depending on it. So anyway, when I noticed my master files got replaced by steam I went to clean them. But with the first one I already noticed it cleaned some stuff in worldspace category. I have to say so far fallout 4 is running better than ever before with the high attention to worldspace edits. I have over 450 plugins in my load order and I pretty much only have these annoying crashes that just happen after a while ( for no apparent reason ). And the game is running at my capped 60 FPS in most areas ( yes even in the dense parts in the middle of the city ). Before I went crazy with the worldspace edit deleting I went into an interior cell and was greeted by 4 FPS. GREAT! Then as I said I deleted all the worldspace edits from many many mods, loaded the same savegame and voila: 60 FPS. Here my question: Could it be that simply cleaning the master files is already breaking precombines? Because that would mean that the very first thing every experienced player is doing is gimp their performance. I haven't actually cleaned the master files yet and before I do I thought I'd ask some people that know more about this than I do. I feel like cleaning the master files has become such a no-brainer with bethesda games that nobody considers it might actually do harm in fallout 4. EDIT: I mean in most load orders the master files probably load first and one after another anyway with no other mods inbetween. So, I don't really get the point of cleaning them to be honest. Like ... it shouldn't make a difference if nothing else loads between them, right?
  3. Of course they profit from the mods. Ever since I bought fallout 3 the only reason why I bought all the bethesda games are the mods. It's a bit like a long birthday party, you never know what gifts you get. lol So, in other words: I'm mostly buying the games to see what modders can do with it. Although I have to say I rarely use quest mods. I was always more interested in the mods that provide new functionality. But bethesdas engine design is both a blessing and a big limitation. You can setup new equipment and stuff pretty easily but if you want to do special things you often hit all kinds of limitations. Recently I've been making mods for a game called Warhammer End Times Vermintide. That game didn't have modding support at all when I started working on it with a friend. Eventually we built a whole modding framework and put our own options directly into the game options and stuff. In the end we had ~60-70 different mods from different people. I think the majority of the community is now using at least some mods. XP But in vermintide we basically had access to the whole source code. No limitations. Things like showing weapons on the back aren't even an issue there. I made a mod like that. I just catch an event that signalizes the weapons are loaded, load up the same 3d objects and link them to the back with a certain offset. It's as easy as it gets. In fallout 4 you need specifically designed weapon-on-back equipment. Like ... really? Are you kidding me? That might be off topic  but it's something that's bugging me for a while. Before they try to charge for mods like pipboy skins and power armor paint they should give us proper access in the scripts. Such a basic feature. Load a specific 3d model and place it somewhere.
  4. Well, the elder scrolls and fallout games have an incredible life-span because of modding. It's just natural that they're trying to make some money with this. The thing is they are too lazy to make new dlcs, I mean worthwhile dlc, so they're paying modders some pocket money. In general I wouldn't say the creation club is bad. But their release line-up of mods is ridiculous. Pipboy skins? Really? For $0,50 no less? It could be a huge success if they eventually offer extensive quest mods with new areas. Something that you would accept as an official dlc, just not as expensive. Earning some money can be a big motivation for modders. Not to mention that apparently bethesda is doing some quality control ( whatever that is worth lol ). But, yeah with the current mods they have this seems like a huge failure. One thing I can't wrap my head around though is that they're forcing people to download all the mods. Even worse. They're giving people the opportunity to just extract the assest and make free mods from them. lol It seems like this whole thing is primarily aimed at consoles where you can't do s*** with the assests.
  5. So it's pretty much confirmed that bethesda is gonna make us download all the creation club stuff, I guess. :P
  6. Just wanted to throw that out there again: You can still play if you're using the 1.9.4 fallout.exe. I didn't have them anymore but apparently installing a 1.9.4 crack works too. That's how I got it working.
  7. Oh, you like mods? How about we try to sell you some and break your well managed collection of free ones in the process. lol Now all the people who don't need it and never wanted it have to wait for F4SE to be updated. And hope to god your mods are still working. Why the f*** is this not an external application? They could've just implemented this into the launcher. Or something. So with the speculation that the 2gb update is the creation club mods .... Does that mean we have to regularly download all mods on the creation club into our game folders? Like the f***ing skins for counter strike? This better be not what they're trying to pull here.
  8. That's basically the old console control problem. Thank bethesda, xbox and ps4 for that. And in that order. And thank them with your fist.
  9. Well, the dog just looks realistic now. Would you be happier if it's another breed? Personally I'm glad you can actually aim and shoot people now. In earlier games I hated how the weapons didn't hit shiet. You basically had to storm the enemies so you can hit them within a 5m radius. I always used mods that heavily increased the accuracy of everything. Now I can give headshots and it's fun. Gunplay was improved a lot in Fallout 4. Maybe they should've created some more cities and towns instead of a huge number of settlements. I'm kinda annoyed with that as well. I know they expect me to care for the settlements and to invest time to build them and in theory I like that idea. But I'm playing Fallout not Minecraft. Building and maintaining 5 settlements would be ok. But the amount of settlements is completely exaggerated. As for the dialog system. There are mods already that fix them pretty good. Of course the credit for that doesn't belong to bethesda. But at least you can mod that aspect of the game. Anyways, it shouldn't be the big problem anymore. Regarding the options in the dialogs. I haven't really had big problems with it. In fact sometimes in New Vegas I was annoyed by the wall of text in the dialogs. The engine is old, yes, but the constantly updated it. We don't really know how many components were completely rewritten since the first version. The graphics components for sure. In the same way you could complain that Unreal Engine 4 is a new version of a 17 year old engine. In the end I'm a little disappointed with the game as well, but I still like it and I invested a lot of time playing it already. If I had to play Fallout 3, New Vegas or Skyrim without all the great mods you can use today I probably would be just as disappointed with them.
  10. You mean if you died and the game reloaded on it's own? I think that's by design to prevent the player from blowing up again on the same thing. I noticed that too. I blew up from a mine in some random diner thingy and when the game realoaded I went in again and searched for that damn thing. But I couldn't find it anywhere. It does, that is exactly what causes it. I mentioned this before but it never got put on the list. I listed it. I believe that error is already listed. I listed it. I listed it and added a link for more information. Seems to be a strange bug. Did you see similar problems with other companions? Try to speak to Lancer Captain Kells. Maybe he wants to talk to you before anybody else will do anything and the game just doesn't tell you that. The game likes to do that. XD
  11. Attempting to do that via console is probably the best way to completely break the game. lol
  12. I'm not saying you should ignore the bad stuff. What I'm saying is for me personally it's not that important because it still has a lot to offer that is fun. It's a big open world with lots of stuff to explore. So yeah, in a way, I can say to myself, ok the beginning was kinda bullshiet but now I can do my thing. Even if that is exactly ignoring it but it isn't that hard for me. lol We're talking opinions here anyways. There's no definitve answer. I guess I'm more into the visuals and the environment. NV may be more flexible but that doesn't matter if I dislike the empty world. The desert just looks boring to me.
  13. I don't really get it what people like so much about NV. I read about it and how it supposedly is more like Fallout 1 and 2 but I never played them and frankly I don't really care. For me it boils down to: Boring environment; Funny looking roman soldier dudes I had much more fun in Fallout 3 because the environment was more appealing to me. When playing the modern fallout games the thing I'm doing the most is exploring and shooting stuff. The fact that they imporved the shooting mechanic so much is very welcome. You don't need mods anymore to hit anything that is only 10m away. Exploring everything now actually has purpose. They almost went from " you don't have to collect any junk " to " collect all the junk ". In my eyes it's a big improvement that most of the items in the game now actually have a value of some sort. Because you need the materials. Some more dialog options would've been appreciated though. I'm not really happy with the dialogs. I think the graphics, even if not on par with other current titles, are ok for an open world game. Finally all the talk about how you're forced in a certain role. I mean it's true basically, but honestly I'm just exploring everything and doing what I want. At times I almost forgot that I'm searching for my child. So, that's not a big issue for me.
  14. You're seriously comparing Fallout 4 to minecraft? I understand that many people have a lot of fun with minecraft but Fallout 4 obviously was much more expensive to develop. I have the feeling that many people would've been mad about the game regardless of how it is. After so many years since the last fallout game and countless replays of the previous ones with the best mods available. But considering this is a bethesda game we're talking about one thing is very important: In over 69 hours of playing I only had one crash and no game breaking bugs. So apart from some stupid design choices and graphical weaknesses they improved a fundamental part of their work. I think it's okay to consider modding when giving a score because many other games can't even be modded as heavily as bethesda games. Some games can't be modded at all.
  15. I have the feeling that was just hiccup rather than a common bug. Well, the animation is normal. You can't just skip it by using VATS. Or do you mean it plays twice when using VATS shortly after the stimpak? Which resource bug are you referring to? I listed everything else.
