  1. Unfortunately you can't alter the original dungeon with the editor. When the devs made the game they didn't have an editor, instead they 'scripted' the whole dungeon with the programming language they use. That's why the editor can't read the original dungeon. All you can do is ask the devs to fix this somehow, I think a general code fix would be the best way to do this anyway since otherwise you will run into the same problem while playing custom dungeons eventually.
  2. Would love to see 'Grimrock Nexus' as well. Love the game, I always loved Dungeon Master and even started an Oblivion mod remake of it. After I realized Skyrim is simply not as much fun as I hoped it would be I definitely want to mod Grimrock. The editor looks very promising, you can script in the same programming language the game was made with and it's possible to import new assets - any type of asset. So basically the possibilities are endless. Since Grimrock isn't tied to Steam either (you can also buy it from GOG for example - DRM free, just another reason apart from the awesome game to support the developers) and I doubt there will be a Steam Workshop for it there is also a need for a quality site to host all the mods and dungeons. So...a fantastic new RPG with endless modding possibilities but no site to host the mods yet? A no-brainer for me, hope Dark0ne thinks the same. EDIT: Oh, and if you haven't heard about Grimrock yet - read a review and buy it. Or just buy it.
  3. The AMX 40 indeed seems to be a painful grind, that's why I skipped it with free xp. Got the 107 on the SU-85 and the 85 on the T-28, both of which will be removed and compensated with free xp. I'll get back more free xp than I spent. The matchmaking really ruins the ELC, but other than that it's a fun tank. The gun may have a long reload time, but it's very powerful for a t5 with 170 pen, 240 damage and good accuracy (though due to the matchmaking it's not that great anymore if you meet t8/9 tanks). The tank is incredibly fast and has great camo as well. But in the end the most important thing is that you get a free garage slot (which is what the OP asked for), two 100% crew members and a few hundred thousand credits (if you sell the tank) for free.
  4. Just to let you know in case you still check this topic. Patch 7.5 is coming out in a few weeks and if you have the AMX 12t in your garage when it gets released you'll get a t5 tank with 100% crew and a garage slot for free. The AMX 12t is pretty easy to grind as it is a t5 tank and it will move up one tier, so it may be a good idea to start grinding for it now.
  5. You need to read the patch notes before the patch is released (they're usually online a few weeks before) and then grind the tanks that get replaced/moved. For example if you had the KV with the KV-2 turret researched, the KV-3 and the IS-4 in your garage when the latest patch (7.3, released in May) was released you would get 3 free garage places as well as 3 new tanks with a 100% crew (the new tier 5 KV-2, tier 6 T-150 and tier 9 IS-8, worth more than 5 million credits in total). So reading patch notes is not the worst thing you can do. Personally I only got two garage places as I couldn't get to the IS-4 that fast. But now it's too late of course, the patch is out already. I don't think 7.4 will have anything like that unfortunately, but I read they want to overhaul the TD lines of German and Russian tanks to split them in two in the future - it may be a good idea to research the existing tank destroyers now. Bonus codes are rare and you have to check the web regularly to get one (google). So I have no link, sorry. Like I said, IF there is one available it is usually limited to a few codes and you have to be fast to get one. Finally you can of course spend a bit of money (paysafe card is possible if you have no credit card), for example for 7 Euros you get 1500 gold, which is enough for 10 garage places if you wait for a special offer. And 15 garage places are more than enough for more or less everything since most tanks are mediocre at best and you sell them anyway once you researched the next one.
  6. If you are lucky you can find free codes from time to time, for example in gaming magazines or on websites (if you register you get X gold etc). But that happens rarely and usually there is only a limited amount of bonus codes available. If you have gold I would also wait for special offers before I'd buy a garage place, it happens quite often that you can buy one for 150 gold instead of 300. Finally watch the patch notes for upcoming patches. Sometimes they overhaul the tanks/tank trees and if you happen to have a tank that gets moved/replaced you get a free garage place. For example you could get 3 free garage places (and 3 100% crews and 3 expensive tanks) when the latest patch was released. It also happened that a free tank was converted to premium, so if you pay attention you can get premium tanks for free as well that way.
  7. @David Brasher: Nice work, will check your mod out during the weekend. I'm currently working on an updated version of the tileset and a full-blown dungeon mod for it. It's a homage to Dungeon Master/Chaos Strikes Back, but not a remake. It's nearly done, is a small trailer I made.
  8. I think the categories don't really cover everything and are a bit mashed up. Where is the 16 bit era (Amgia/Atari ST)? Why does Era 3 only have console games? I'd categorize it like this: Era 1: 70's till early 80's - where the whole thing started, computer gaming was only possible for a few computer nerds back then (and no one cared about it) Era 2: early 80's till mid/late 80's - 8 bit era, mainly Commodore 64 Era 3: mid/late 80's till early 90's: 16 bit era, Amiga and Atari ST Era 4: early 90's till late 90's: PC era without 3D acceleration on GPUs (286/386/486/Pentium I) Era 5: late 90's till mid 2000's: PC with 3D acceleration Era 6: mid 2000's till now: Consoles (Xbox360/PS3/Wii) become more important than computers for gaming, games are ported from console to PC and not vice versa
  9. For some reason it seems to work with WinRar...but the site still gives me trouble. In fact it is making fun of me. I uploaded a 40mb archive and it disconnects at 38mb. So funny. Really. I've uploaded about 250mb by now and still there is only one 40mb archive available for my file (and the second one is missing). I try to upload the second archive with IE now (been using Opera before). I never had any problems uploading to Megaupload, Youtube, Mediafire etc. So I wonder what the problem is. Don't have Adblockers either, I think Opera has a built-in script system, but it only warns about scripts running, it doesn't automatically stop them. Java Script is turned on. EDIT: With IE it works. Seems like Opera is causing the problems here for me. There is no love for Opera! Why? It's the best browser of them all! *cry*
  10. I'm trying to upload a 80mb file. But the site won't let me. It always says 'The connection was terminated by the server' after a while. It says that in german (since I'm german), I just translated it - the error might sound a bit different in english. Sometimes it quits after 30mb, sometimes after 40mb, sometimes after 50mb. But it always disconnects. Quite annoying after working on a mod for a few months and then not being able to upload it after all is set and done. I tried to upload a split archive, but 7z puts a number at the end of the archive (like MyMod.7z.001) and then the site tells me that I can only upload a zip, 7z or rar archive. Ha ha. Will probably have to download regular winrar and use that instead for a split archive. Any ideas why this is happening? It's driving me crazy.
  11. You don't even need a mod for that. In game, hit Escape, go to Options, then gameplay, and slide your difficulty meter to the right. The one downside is that it reduces the damage you do. At far right, you take 6 times as much damage and do 1/6 the original. At far left, it's the opposite. And that's why I haven't used it. The fights would last forever, which is dull. (it's already a few steps to the right) That is actually the reason why I made the damage multiplier so I'm not sure you understand how it works. You can still use the difficulty slider with it. Example: In vanilla if the difficulty slider is 20 steps to the right the player will deal 33% damage and enemies will deal 300% damage. For enemies that is a good value since they're deadly now, but the player needs forever to kill one of them. Which is extremely boring and with the damage enemies cause pretty much impossible if you use other mods like FCOM etc. Now add a 2x damage multiplier with my mod and move the slider 5 steps to the right instead of 20. The player will deal 133% damage and enemies deal 300% damage. Much better, enemies are deadly and the player is deadly as well. Personally I play with 2.25x damage and the difficulty slider 5 steps to the right - which means 150% player damage and 337.5% enemy damage. Please use this mod though instead of the damage multiplier, it is an enhanced version with some improvements and some other (imo) needed combat tweaks you can adjust or turn on/off in an ini.
