  1. I've got one curious question. When I start creating armour and weapons and all that good stuff. The tool "Mesh Tools" subdivide does this actually make the item in a much more higher quality? My goal is to make items like Jojo did creator of Silverlight etc. But to my understand it looks like subdivide increases the resolution using more polys or something.
  2. Well, once you use BSA Commander to extract the BSA files, you most-likely won't have a need for that program again. How To Extract Files Using BSA Commander Well, it depends on what NIF you are trying to import/export. Importing a piece of armor can be quite different in the options and process you use than a sword or piece of clutter. Same goes for the export process. Example: If you are going to do a helmet armor for the 1st time, make a simple ball, create a UV Map for it, apply a texture, rig it to the skeleton, export to NIF and see if it works in-game. Once you have the basic steps worked out, the only trouble-shooting you will be doing will be directly related to the model you created rather than all the little steps that make the entire process work. Always seemed to help make things work better for me anyway. I would jump straight into Blender since most things can be done inside it now. You won't need to know how to do all kinds of things in NifSkope if you can do them in Blender such as modifying the xyz coordinates of an item, removing, adding objects, combining multiple NIF objects, etc. You will still need some basics of NifSkope but those "basics" don't take but just a few minutes to learn. Some things you might do in NifSkope after you export to NIF format: - Fix a texture path (article) - Configure material colors (usually they are set to White, White, Black, Black) - Run the Optimize and Sanitize Spells - Verify that the Nif Node structure looks correct in Tree View mode - Use display window to capture screenshots of the item in order to create a menu inventory icon (article) LHammonds .... This is so much SO MUCH BETTER then all those other tutorials... this is amazing extremely detailed and pin-point.. I do not know how to express my thanks to you. I've been trying to Google for this type of information, and nothing, all the same tutorials from Elderscrolls.. Now I can make real progressions thanks to you.
  3. Yea, its the basics learning for nif and 3D that is going to be hard for me. I already know how to do PSD and DDS. My only problem is I cannot find really good tutorials that show you step-by-step instructions for example: the Nif tuts on elderscrolls wiki doesn't tell you how to upload nifs, or I don't really understand how to use BSACOMMANDER once I unpack my meshes [clueless]. Also how to properly import and export both on nifs and blender. But I will surely learn let it take months. As a man once said "Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty" Also, thanks for that outline on what I should get done it's good motivation and information :D

Look the easistet way to start modeling would have to be to Follow the Blender From Noob to Pro book You can find it on the web by googling it Making new armor is really hard to do for beginners but once you finish the tutorial , you could easily create swords and various meshes I can now make decent looking swords due to thgose tutorials Lhammonds also has some various tutorials on things that relate to modding / modeling so you may want to check out his pages Once you get the hang of it and beleive me if you finish that tutorial through it will get easier Heres something I made in 15 minutes a strange ruin with textures and a sweet looking Glow map All done very quickly Thank you, I'll check it out. Im curious in the programs what is better and easier to use. Blender or 3D studio?
  5. Can anyone with any knowledge on this subject help me. Im looking for information on creating armor and weapons for Oblivion. 3D Modeling as I know it. I would like to know the programs that are used to create these matters. Tutorials would also be helpful. :D
  6. On Morrowind once you advanced to the higher ranks of the House factions they built a house for you and it slowly upgraded when you advanced levels eventually turning into a Manor. When I look for house mods I look for a house that is as simple as the houses the NPCs have, but at the same time unique. I currently don't use any house mods because castles = sh i t, and the houses are improperly furnished. You can tell that the house was built by someone. People tend to build houses to what they think looks good to fit their needs usually. (In a general, if you're making a mod you want people to use; make it something simple but complex. [Open-Minded]) Why not construct one similar to the houses in the area it's going to be in, and have it furnished in a similar, but unique manner. Basically, a house that has a really good atmosphere feeling to it. Something that can make you feel like you're in the game instead of playing a game.

  9. So i've noticed lots of mods thousands of mods for Oblivion vanilla, but are there any good mods for The Shivering Isles. Like a Better Cities, Homes, the ability to break the laws once you get Lord Sherogath Title, etc. It would be awesome if anyone knows of some good ones to share with me. Shivering Isles is by far my favorite zone in Oblivion. Demented and Maniacally pleasurable. :teehee:
  10. I've done every quest, but the fights guild quest line and a few misc. quests. My favorite though is the Shivering Isle chain quest. Great plot. I've done it six or seven times now.
  11. Hmmm, is their a mod that makes 2hand weapons work as 1hand weapons?
  12. I've been searching for two weeks now for a mod with katanas or any type of similar sword that is one-hand and sheaths to the back of player. If anyone knows of any please inform D:

  14. Okay so im bumping this for one last time before I give up on it. I did some further analyzing on it, and it only works now when my weapon us out!!! I want it when its sheathed to do this walk is delicious!! QQ
  15. Is there anyway to make it so only your female character does this? Because my male character does the same thing.
  16. Okay, so I've been playing around with the walk mods for Oblivion Umpa's and Mur Zik's walk mods. I can get Umpa's to work, but for some reason I cannot get Mur's walk to work. I've reinstalled Oblivion several times completely clearing out the Beth folders and save games. Everything, and this mod just seems not to want to work for me D: I've installed it with OMOD and maunally as well still nothing. I've also tried it with no other mods so no confliction or anything. Any help would be awesome. Thanks Also game version 1.2.xxxx SI & Knights already in. GOTY version so I think its completely up to date.
  17. Yea, I wanted Blackluster and the Armam Katanas or Armam weapons able to be put on the back of the player. It looks goofy with the shield not on the back.
  18. I have been looking around for about a week now and the Blackluster shields [blackluster/Blood/Saint] these do not yet have a mesh to be placed on your back using SoB. The same applies to Armams Katanas. Also all his other mods too. A mod that allows these mods items to be placed on the back would be insane since I don't think the authors of those mods; mod anymore D:
  19. Okay, I've been using this site for a year or so now, but now I am back for sometime. :D My questions are right now is TESNexus site down I can't get to it and I wanted to download some mods. Also could I get linked to a modder tut. I can't find any decent tuts for modding.
