  1. This is my first time trying to change something with fo4edit, and I could use some advice. I'm trying to edit the armor slots on the Marine Tactical Helmet so that my character can wear it with a hat. I deleted the entries for slots 30 and 46, which are the only ones that seem to conflict with the slots used by hats. I removed those slots from the Armor and Armor Addon sections in fo4edit, but nothing changes. I can still only use either the hat or the helmet. And before you ask, I am saving. When I open fo4edit, the changes I made remain. I can't tell what I'm doing wrong. Do I have to make that change to every mod I have that changes or references the helmet? Is there something else I missed? Also, my apologies if this is not the place to ask this sort of question. I've used mods for awhile, but this is my first attempt at making a change myself, so I am rather out of my comfort zone. Edit: I don't know if it matters or not, but I'm specifically trying to get the marine tactical helmet to work with the Silver Shroud hat. Edit 2: Fixed it. At first I made the mistake of not loading all of my esps in fo4edit. Once I did, I was able to change it in all of mods. I made a mistake, though, and the face was partially visible through the front of the Tactical Helm. After some fiddling, I was able to fix this by using slot 32. It was already enabled in either armor or armor addons, I can't remember which, but not the other. Once it was on in both there was no issue.
  2. I love this idea as well. Try using a synth helmet. The regular, non-field version has a visor and is the closest the game has to a good Judge helmet. Personally, I'd go with sturdy combat armour for the chest, sturdy leather for the arms, heavy leather for the legs, and the synth helmet (though mods are needed to get the coloring right for the whole set). Then do the 10mm pistol thing Contrabardus said. It's not perfect, but it'll do until we get a creation kit and can more easily make new stuff.
