  1. UGH. And it's just gotten worse. Turns out the CK crashes when I try to load one of the affected world spaces, like the Riften docks for example where I experience a persistent CTD when I step on the Honeyside balcony and turn towards the sun. This is definitely not normal 0_o And the weirdest thing is that I had no problems whatsoever until this suddenly just popped up and has made my game unplayable. Needless to say I already removed all additional content (textures, meshes) that were added by mods and yet my game seems to be borked for good; though that should not even be possible OR affecting Skyrim.esm cells in the CK. Woah.
  2. Yeah, I'm wondering the same right now. My latest save has just gone to CTD hell and suddenly I can't even leave Whiterun or any other city without crashing to oblivion. Needless to say this is my main character, too. I'm going crazy. Trying all kinds of stuff no matter how weird it seems to try and fix this. *sighs*
  3. Ah, the same thing happened to me after patching. I don't even remember how I fixed it, sorry. Do you have a d3dx9.dll in your Skyrim directory, perhaps? The new versions don't support previous ENB installs and the DLL is known to cause "black water" if not removed. It may just be the cause of that glitch, too.
  4. Unauthorized use of copyrighted content isn't illegal? Nice to know... *chuckles* Oh, come on. You know how it goes. I'd be the first to laugh my arse off if a gaming company sued a modder for porting stuff from a game owned by them to another of their games, and I'd also be the first to double-facepalm if stuff like this ever made it before a court. It's so ridiculous it hurts my brain to even think about it. Not like any of us makes any profit this way, which is a valid reason to insist upon copyright claims. Other than that it's just plain ridiculous, not even taking into account that most modders are either underage or poor broke slobs anyway...
  5. Hey! You ever modded anything before? Oblivion, for example, which would be very similar to Skyrim. As for your initial problem; search for bound weapons in the CK (pm me if you don't know how to issue a search) and change its stats to restore magicka. You may have to tweak an enchantment or even create a new spell/enchantment to get it to work but that's really very basic CK work. I understand that the CK can be ENTIRELY confusing, especially if you've got no previous modding experience. It's even different from the Oblivion CK. So, anyway, I'd hate to be like "lol what a noob" so just PM me with your questions and I'll try to work it out. :)
  6. I agree. The key category and interface is mostly useless. However, it serves the one purpose of being able to look up whether or not you have the key to a location, even if it really doesn't matter as any door will tell you if you do. So the entire key category only serves the one purpose to be able to check that out. I can't think of a way that would maintain this feature and allow you to have a look at your keys if you were to use a key chain or something similar. Unless, of course, someone would create a key chain object that displayed all of your current keys upon activating but somehow didn't use the key category of the inventory, which would be kinda pointless, though, as the category would still remain. So, in short, I don't think there really is a way to get rid of the stupid keys because the interface is just designed like that. :/
  7. I agree, and I've been trying to fix it. I was like "wtf?" when I had a closer look at the children of Skyrim. They share the same face and skin presets; not even the Redguard children look like Redguards (dark skin)! So far, I've attempted to replace the head with hopes of being able to apply some basic morphs but to no avail. Don't worry, though - I'm sure it will be done. Because the vanilla children of Skyrim are horrible and disgusting and all look the same.
  8. I am pretty sure there's a "Saber Cat Khajiit" mod/retex. I remember I've come across it recently, so you should be able to find it on the Nexus. I don't know about the quality of the mod as I didn't download it, but I know it's there! :D
  9. Well. "Illegal" is a little far-fetched. Unwanted by Bethesda, yes. But not illegal; as illegal means "against the law" which is not the case unless Bethesda somehow earned the rights to be part of any country's government. I know what you mean, though. Still, it's nowhere near illegal no matter what those gaming companies want to make everyone believe. @ LittleBaron I'll be looking into that! Thanks for your response!
  10. Seriously, don't Nords decorate their homes with some paintings? I miss Oblivion's picture frames and art. It's kind of sad they didn't even include a single framed picture in Skyrim. I am going to convert the Oblivion objects at some point in the distant future, but if any of you feels like getting started with this I'd very much appreciate that. :-) Make Skyrim a prettier place!
  11. Hey y'all! :D I'm really just getting started with the CK et all and one of the things I'm currently trying to do is allow the player to sit down on command, using one of the vanilla animations. This should be achieved by either casting a spell or, ideally, pressing a key but that's way beyond my current ability. While I'm willing to figure this out through trial and error I would much appreciate a quick pointer or two by a more experienced modder. :-) Thank you very much!
  12. I'd be quite happy if my horse could at least run them over or kick them in the head.
  13. Hiya! I don't know why they decided to completely mess this up in Skyrim since it worked fine in Oblivion, but here's the deal: Once riding a horse, the interface no longer shows target options such as "talk" or "open" or what have you, though they're evidently still possible because you sometimes end up activating them even if you can't see any of them. Instead of being able to talk to other mounted people such as nobles, soldiers or even the Headless Horseman, you will usually end up dismounting your horse while your target proceeds to ride away, so you have to mount up again to follow them and repeat the same dance. This is not acceptable! :P We need a different dismount button, and we need to be able to see all possible targetted actions because it's utter nonsense we should dismount to talk to a guy on a horse! Whyyyy, Bethesda, whyyyyyy? It worked fine in Oblivion! *shakes fist*
  14. Argh. Don't even get me started about jumping. I've never ever played a game (that wasn't from 10 years ago, anyway) where jumping was SUCH A PAIN IN THE POSTERIOR. Seriously. I enjoy games like Saint's Row II/III where you have complete freedom in your little sandbox world and it's wonderful and enjoyable to be able to sprint, run, sneak, crouch, jump, etc. Then I look at Skyrim and cry when my character gets stuck trying to pass a boulder or is unable to get out of the water because apparently using your hands to CLIMB OUT is impossible. It pains me so much. I imagine this is not something that can be easily done, though, as it would require a complete redesign of walk modes. Jumping, in The Elder Scrolls, is basically completely and entirely useless and glitchy and the game ignores a pressed jump key most of the time anyway. An epic solution would be some kind of "climb" ability, or just a general "use your damn hands to hold onto a surface". Hmm. Maybe this could actually work, in first person mode, anyway .... it just occured to me it may be possible to force the hold/grab key to "grab" landscaping objects you could then "climb".
  15. I thought of the ocean as well but then I haven't explored all of Skyrim yet and I don't think I've come across an ocean yet. 0_o I think I'm going to dig through the forums to learn about current modding tools (we want TEH CREATION KIT, by the gods!!) and I may just be able to come up with something myself. I used to do small mods for Oblivion but those were really, really simple and most were remeshed and/or retextured stuff for my own use. Can't stand the vanilla low res HORRIBLE animal skins. Look at the cows, argh! Erm, sorry. Ranting.
  16. Hey! Aaaand another idea. It's very disturbing to me how bandits leave bear traps all over the place yet *my* characters can't do so. I mean, they work, right? So why in Oblivion can't we use them to hunt .... bears?
  17. Hey! :D I figure this should be easy enough to do unless you're a total noob like me. My characters suffer from a permanent lack of salt for cooking (and they'd apparently rather die than roast meat without), so I thought this might be a quick and dirty solution without actually cheating. There could be "salt veins", or, which is even easier, salt could simply be added to the loot of existing ore veins, as salt can indeed be mined in real life. I'd really really appreciate that! Thank you so much! :D
