All my drivers and such are updated, and I always play with nothing else running in the background. I actually only have 7.24G of available RAM, so that's probably the issue. Unfortunately I can't upgrade my computer, so RIP. Guess I can't play SE. Thanks for the help.

No problem, and thank you for the help. I think it's Intel ® UHD Graphics 620

Processor Intel® Core i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.89 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Does that help?

I'll give this one last shot before giving up. I've updated the OP to explain the issue and give some clarity.

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on mods a long time ago, at least until I get the game working.

Thanks for the head's up. I've long since abandoned Vortex and mods for Skyrim Special Edition. I know for a fact that my hard drive isn't failing because it happened to me recently, and I was able to identify the problem and get it fixed. Don't worry about it. I still really appreciate the help, even if it didn't work out.

I made a new folder on my drive and moved the SSE folder to it, but got this. I uninstalled the game, but Steam didn't give me the option to change where I put the download.

Thanks for your self so far. But where do I want to move it? Right now, I have two SSE folders; one in Documents -> my games -> Skyrim Special Edition (which contains a file called saves, and has old saves.) The other is on Program Files (x86) -> Steam -> Steamapps -> common -> Skyrim Special Edition (which seems to have the same files and apps as regular Skyrim.) Also, I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but creating a desktop shortcut through Steam doesn't work; it just creates a NotePad document. But I don't think it's a big deal since I can just launch the program from the second Skyrim Special Edition folder. EDIT: In case it comes up, I only have a C:, no D:

I don't have it. I also use Windows 10.

Nnnope, not there.

hippitywho, you're saving my bacon here. I'm still pretty lost, but I definitely feel like I'm almost there. Thank you so much. When I click the three dots, I only get Browse Folder & Repair Folder. Clicking the + button brings me to Program Files and I only have a C folder
