  1. Yeah, It's a good stopgap but I want something that lets me write and keep journals. something to jot down notes, perhaps a booklet to write down the alchemical recipes I discover. It'd be odd for the journal of the Thane of Solitude (for example) to hold notes from the Listener of the Brotherhood no? I do like this one though. It's quite annoying that it's dependent on other mods though.
  2. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to create a mod that allows you to create books ingame. Basically, have the character buy a blank journal and title it. Then allow you to write in it (you type with keyboard, the text appears in the same lettering as the ingame journals). I played a mage a few times and a scholar more then once. And I'd love for him/her to be able to sit down in a quiet corner of a dungeon and write stuff down. Keep a journal of what is discovered in ruins, who was encountered and so on.
  3. That actually had me giggle. People in annoying countries raged against the violence of videogames like Skyrim, citing the kill-scenes and all the blood. Just keep in mind, a game where blood sprays and as a werewolf you can litterally rip a head off of a body... But if you marry, your wife/husband won't share a bed with you. Nor is there any real interaction possible. As said before, you can rip a head off and eat someone's heart but you can't give your spouse a chaste kiss??? In that respect, the Sims allows you to make babies, but you'll never see a drop of blood. Is Skyrim the anti-sims? (thank god for mods that allow at least some physical interaction between adults)
  4. Well to be honest, why would Miraak? If you make these changes a blessing by Akatosh it makes sense. Miraak got so old cos he sold his own soul to a daedric Prince. Thus the reason he didn't get that form. Finally Enthusiast said it was a model, from the looks of it he wanted to show us what it'd look like, he took a vampire lord form and added scales and a dragon head. He was showing what such a transform would look like, thus the insignia on his chest is a rather silly thing to break him down over is it not?
  5. Well, to be honest my vampire hunter didn't have that much of a problem with her. Remember, she's technically different from every other vampire (aside from her mother). Basically she was raped by Molag Bal (the dude from the Horror House, that had you kill a vigilant) who then dripped blood into one of the open wounds he left. I took that to mean she was a victim of her father (who gave her to the Prince) and figured I'd help her get revenge on the father and the others. Fact that she survives in the end means little to me to be honest, I used Hearthfire to build a home in the desolate swamps (the one from morthal) and am now looking for a good mod to reinforce it. Meaning my vampire hunter can RP that she is stuck there, unable to leave the domain, until he can find a cure and save her. It probably helps that I made my vampire hunter into a fully glittering white hat who'd consider her to be a victim to be rescued from the vampire curse given to her then a monster to destroy.
  6. Hi, I was wondering if anyone had considered making a costume- or skin mod to allow one to play the game while looking like "Richard" from "Looking for Group"? http://www.lfgcomic.com/page/1/ To show off what he looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_xZuIkj-NM and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcbazH6aE2g --- I thought it'd be neat to be able to mimic his looks. The powers he shows off seem to be covered by mostly existing spells too. Anyone up for making something like this?
  7. want it too! awesome idea Also, if you can get this to work. It could be used to allow the dragonborn to rebuild winterhold via quests and or buying/gathering materials
  8. this could be hard. Since the lab has one door downstairs, and only room for one door. Library has two.
  9. Maybe a mansion style hearthfire build. Where the main hall is not with a table but just a few chairs on a carpet or just a bare room with a few chairs on the sides and maybe some models to put armor up and weapon racks and the like. Instead of east and west wings, another main hall on each side. One side with dining area (where you could place kitchen and bedrooms) Other side with a desk and bookcases (where you could place library, greenhouse, trophy room) and a north option on the central hall. You'd have to see about merging the whole but since the entry way is the doorway to the sub-area, connecting them seems not that hard. Also, you'd need to find a way to merge the roofs together.
  10. I'd love a bigger or altered hearthfire though. Perhaps one location where the north option storeroom is instead a study with library? Trying to make a family home with kitchen, bedrooms but there's no north segment that truly fits. I love the library option but it means no kitchen.
  11. I once looked into how to alter the hearthfire system to allow for quests to rebuild winterhold (as in pay materials, and have buildings appear and so on). Problem with Hearthfire is that the coding is very complex. Even to mod, you need to be on your toes, cos it's hellish to do.
  12. Hmm, I'd like to make winterhold different. Use the cliffs and make it seem growing. A fishing settlement area that seemed to become part of the town. Perhaps make it unique by using the cliff. Wooden walkways leading down to a shipyard/port/harbour with wooden lifts to bring cargo to the top of the platform. an open area next to the inn, with stables, blacksmith and all that, behind that a storage area for cargo. A covered bazaar like market behind the inn and so on. You could even include homes into the cliff-face using the walkways as accesspoints. I drew a map once with suggestions for this. Here's the link... http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/893485-rebuilding-winterhold/page-2&do=findComment&comment=8155333 I'd like winterhold to be an old trade-city. Viking like and all. Once Winterhold fell, Solitude and Dawnstar took up the slack as trade-cities (before the incident, solitude could have been a naval base).
  13. read the original reddit one and had a suggestion. Wouldn't the salary from Whiterun be higher then that from Winterhold? Wouldn't the faction controlled cities give their thanes more to keep them "loyal"? Would you still get coin after leading the attack on whiterun? or would your salary be diverted to rebuilding? Would Falkreath pay more then Markath?
  14. Hi guys, I wanted to build a home capable of supporting a full family and seem good too. Thus I built a home via Hearthfire. Now, I'd like a house with library AND kitchen. Considering there are 2 singles and one double bed in the main hall setup. And considering there are 2 kids, 1 wife, 1 bard, 1 steward in the home, i decided i need the bedrooms setup too. Would it be possible for someone who has some experience to make a mod that basically makes a third offer for north addition: library? The outside = equal to the Alchemy laboratory And just have the inside of the library linked to that I am an amateur mod-maker, and hearthfire is hellish for me to even look at. Anyone willing to take on this challenge?
  15. I'd love to hear what you miss the most tbh. What, in your opinion was cut that should have stayed (more than anything else that is)
