The setrelationshiprank command is crucial for most NPC's that aren't at least minor characters (quest givers). Also probably a 'duh' for most of you but remember to click on your target once the console is open before typing commands.

In addition I have overall crappy shadows - tried messing with the shadow detail settings etc. but no change - http://www.brawnybabies.com/upload/4611346ScreenShot44.jpg Should be ultra - definitely doesn't look like ultra. Any help?

Hurray it worked! Using addtofaction 19809 1 and setrelationshiprank player 4 my character is now married to Olfina Graymane :D She didn't even have dialogue options to begin with, so this should work on every npc.
-
Hm see but Lydia is meant to be married, and thus I'm assuming (haven't married anyone yet) has dialogue built in to go with it. Guess I'll just try it out and see what happens..
-
Have any of you messed around with it? The command is listed in the wiki where you change an NPC's faction. Thinking about trying it since all the best looking NPC's seem to not be marry-able (hellooo ms. graymane).

On a related note I am now officially a hoarder.. way too much crap!

Did anyone else have as much trouble as I did? At level 35, on Expert difficulty, the enemies kicked my arse! I don't think I've ever had to quickload that many times before. And my helpers were dying just as much! One hit by their arrows would be like half my health. Was a bit disconcerting considering I have full ebony armor and have leveled my character pretty well in regards to balancing skills. Glad it's over!

Cheers for the info!

Hi peeps, I'm having an issue where the mountains in the far distance flicker, can't really tell if it's the shadows or texture, and it's only the very distant ones. Settings are all ultra-high, video card is radeon HD 6950, drivers are up to date. Any ideas?

Glad you guys found it amusing.. just another example of how these games can be entirely unique to each player :D
-
Ok thanks.. s'pose I"ll invest in it.

Bump.. still curious about this.

So I spent pretty much all night thieving (as I usually do), though this time was a particularly large haul, and done in a particularly unique and amusing fashion. As some of you no doubt know, the museum has quite a bit of Dwemer metal strewn throughout it. The rational thief would take only a few of pieces of the heavy stuff and instead stick to quest items and the occasional weapon/jewelry. But not Ronyn, the OCD thief. His motto - rob 'em dry, and leave nothing behind! Meet Ronyn, the morally questionable obsessive compulsive thief. Hey Ronyn, what are you up to this fine evening? A jaunt around the museum you say? Why bother with destiny and dragon mumbo jumbo when there's so much thieving to do! http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/1307132-1321621890.jpg Getting his sneak on, as he does. http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/1307132-1321622065.jpg Now that that's taken care of, one word - JACKPOT. SO MUCH CRAP TO STEAL. Simultaneously Ronyn's finest dream and worst nightmare. http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/1307132-1321622108.jpg *HOURS LATER, AFTER MUCH HAULING AND GRUNTING AND SWEATING* "Dear lord, that took forever and there's still a ton of loot down there! How can I save some time while still satisfying my neurotic need to grab every last piece of dwemer crap in the place!? And how the hell am I going to get it all out of here undetected?" "Wait..what's that..a path..and a waterfall?" http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/1307132-1321622167.jpg *In a sudden fit of crazed inspiration* DUMP ALL THE LOOTS DOWN THE FALLS!!! http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/images/1307132-1321622204.jpg Rinse and repeat, until all the loot is down the falls! And lastly... I'M COMING BABYYYY! http://www.brawnybabies.com/upload/86879736.jpg What appears to be a simple, unsuspecting waterfall... http://www.brawnybabies.com/upload/43675467.jpg SECRET HOARD OF DWEMER GOODNESS! Every dragon(born) needs his mound of shiny, right? http://www.brawnybabies.com/upload/87983298.jpg Which of course led to this.... http://www.brawnybabies.com/upload/65453669.jpg And this... who would have thought that most of this crap couldn't be melted down? Ah well.. that's what the house of the now deceased Heimskr is for! http://www.brawnybabies.com/upload/494718810.jpg Mission Accomplished.

If you're above level.. 5.. I think.. look for a guy named Sam in any of the many taverns in the world who will challenge you to a drinking game. :)

I'm wondering if the +50% to incoming elemental damage includes things like magic and dragon's breath? Or is it only when blocking enchanted weapons? Thanks

I was thinking today about making new characters and play-overs, and how it would be cool to immortalize your past characters as NPC's as a small way to keep some persistence in the world and as a nod all those hours you've put into a character. This could be as simple as just having your character and his/her house (and non-quest items?) imported into the new game (might require that the house be a mod itself), but could be expanded on in very cool ways such as (perhaps even customizeable) dialogue option, radiant quests being given by your character depending on their 'class' and demeanor, and who knows what else. I just think it'd be really cool to start a new character, but be able to visit your old legendary character in his/her keep and splendor. What do ya'll think? Have there been mods like this for morrowind or oblivion?

There are 2 SkyrimPrefs.ini files for Graphics Tweeks!
J_R replied to J_R's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I was running off that article by PC Gamer which took some stuff from SA forums, reddit, and here. They advise you to use the steam one (perhaps this only works before running the game?). I've also seen this recommended elsewhere as well, with no mention of the one in my documents. I just wanted to make sure the right information is getting out there. Thanks guys. -
Hey ya'll. So I'm sure most of you have seen the graphics tweeks floating around to implement in your SkyrimPrefs.ini. Now all of the guides/posts i've seen have advised people to edit their SkyrimPrefs.ini in their Skyrim folder in their Steam folders. So I did those changes and noticed that they weren't really doing anything. I then noticed in the steam ini that 1. It had different resolution settings than I use listed for full screen mode and 2. It didn't have certain settings that should have been there (like the iwaterreflect settings and the entire [water] section for example) I then noticed that these settings and the proper res, etc. was listed in the SkyrimPrefs.ini that's in My Documents, and that after implementing the changes in there, the changes worked! WTF mate? This could be common knowledge to most people, but after seeing every single guide online say that the ini file to change is in the steam folder, when for me it's the .ini in my documents that works, it made me a bit perplexed. I've also seen people posting that making changes to the steam .ini doesn't work for them either, and I can't help but think that they have the same thing going on for them - the 'Active' .ini file being used by the game is in fact in My Documents, and NOT in the Steam folder. What's the word?

I had a fort respawn after a few days - The fort to the west of Whiterun.. it could have been because I didn't "clear" it?

+1, sure it's in the works.

Skyrim companions/followers constantly switching to their default weap
J_R replied to Pacerot's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yeah I didn't really have this problem as long as I removed their default weapon from their inventory. Also, they seemed to automatically choose which ever weapon did the most damage (even choosing to use a staff over a bow and wasting away its charges on mudcrabs). I did notice though that I couldn't remove the bow from lydia's inventory, just her greatsword. Sorry I couldn't be of more help! -
Anyone know where I can find a marriable female Khajiit or Argonian?
J_R replied to Rykoyshi's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Would have been nice if they had done marriage like it was done in fable - essentially any single man/woman in the game could potentially be married, though granted any uniqueness in dialogue/plot was thrown out the window, but it was still nice to not have these seemingly arbitrary limitations thrown on there. -
Reason: She's hawt. But in all seriousness, this won't be on the top of anyone's priority list, but I noticed she's not on the list of marry-ables on uesp.. in fact for all I know she's already married or involved in a quest that would exclude this ability. Nevertheless, thought I'd throw this request out there to our lovely modders :)
