  1. Help. Please help. I've been trying to make the blue in my character's eye glow blue. The glowmap is blue, the color of the iris is blue. (not the black part, just the part that's supposed to be blue) But for some inexplicable reason, when I zoom out, it becomes...purple. ...P...Purple? Deep reddish purple. Almost hot pink. Thought it might be the outside of the eye with all the red veins. So, I colored the rest of it with a blue tint, thinking since she has glowing eyes, perhaps she has blue veins in her eyes. That didn't work. Still a mysterious purple glow when I zoom out. It's blue when I'm zoomed in but as I zoom out, the purple takes over like a cancer. What the heck am I doing wrong? :ermm:
  2. I'm looking for something pretty simple, but awesome. The purpose being something very simple and small to cover the neckseam, but fashionable at the same time. Can a mesher please create a small stylish scarf like you'd see on the neck of a cowboy? The need comes from using Calyps Razor Armor. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26312/? although it looks just completely awesome, without the hood the neck seam is very obvious. Erkingly obvious. Necklaces don't do it. The fur scarf from Immersive Armors is way too intrusive (and bright). It feels...odd trying to sneak with a big scarf and I don't wanna cover my face and hair all the time with an intrusive hood. So, I just need some small, simple, stylish, out of the way fabric to wrap around the neck...preferably in black, lol. Thank you very much modders!
  3. You know, being the Dovahkiin of legend, don't you feel like you should be bearing the shield the Dovahkiin is bearing on Alduin's wall? That odd shield that curves over the knuckles of your hand? If I'm the Dovahkiin...where's my Dovahkiin shield? I can draw up a concept design if someone will make the mesh for me. Just say, you know, "I'm willing!" Lol. Or you can make it yourself, if your feeling real creative. I can also probably make the quest to obtain the shield, make it important. Perhaps give it a special enchantment designed for dragons. If anyone knows how to make an enchantment that reflects Dragonshouts back, that would be saucesome, For the texture, I'm not sure. What would that shield be made out of? I guess it would depend on how the Dragonborn gets such a shield. What are your thoughts?
  4. Okay, I tried doing this before for Oblivion. Unfortunately, I lost interest since I already had a working glow mod out, it wasn't working real well, and it just wasn't worth it with Skyrim coming out. Well, now Skyrim is out! Now I'm vying to make this mod a reality. What is it I want to do: I need a code that checks the weapon/armor to see if it has an enchantment. If it does, the code would tell the game to add text to the end of the mesh file "_glow." It will check to make sure the file actually exists, and if it does, it will switch what nif mesh the weapon/armor will use to the one with _glow at the end of it. Such mesh will have it's Alpha Channel all the way up. If it doesn't have an enchantment, or if the mesh with _glow at the end of it doesn't exist, it will use the default mesh without the Alpha channel all the way up so the glow map does not show up. The effect: All enchanted equipment will have a dynamic glow that will enhance the look of enchanted equipment, while keeping non enchanted equipment looking pretty average. It will help improve immersion by making you actualy feel like you've infused your equipment with magic. I've done glow maps before. I have this mod called "Vibrant Glowing Armor" for Oblivion. It replaces stock equipment textures with new glow maps that give them a unique glow style depending on their importance. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/33951/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Foblivion%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D33951%26preview%3D&pUp=1 It's not all that involved, there's no coding or dynamics with it. This time around, I really want the glow maps to have a purpose and really improve your skyrim experience. Edit: Alright, I've clarified exacly how I'd like to see this code work. Check the "What is it I want to do" line for the clarification.
  5. I understand, that is a bit of a conflict. But unfortunately there's no other way to make my mod work, so I guess hope for the best. ^^; Thank you so much for the coding, I'll be testing it out hopefully soon. If not soon, definitely sometime next week. I hope with no problems. Is it all right to PM you if I have issues or questions about the coding?
  6. Wow. That is complex, and almost complete gibberish to me. I am so glad I got help on this one. XDD This is an awesome start! Thank you for the coding, you haven't the slightest how happy you've made me. I feel...tingly inside. XP Tell me, how would this conflict with your mod? Is there something I can do to make this a bit more compatible? Edit: and as I've said, this would make it then so if you enchant an item, it'll change the nif file to the glowing one, right?
  7. If you look at my mod, you'll see this isn't about shaders. My mod gives objects glow maps, which makes them glow in specific areas. This requires the nif models however to have the emissive channel all the way up, which the original nif models do no. So, I have to replace the nif model. Um, but if this is done right, all the script has to do is replace the model, and it would never need to touch the glow map. The emissive channel has to be up to reveal the glow map. So, if the original nif model is active, the glow map would not show. But, if the script could then somehow detect if the item is enchanted, then detect a nif model with the same name except have "glow" at the end, and then replace the item's nif model with that model: then with that nif's emissive channel all the way up, this is how the glow map can be controlled. Shaders just make everything do...something. this is more controlled, and more pretty. Besides, no one has attempted this before. I'd say it's about time something like this is done. =3
  8. I have an idea for a mod, and others have inspire me for this idea. But to make it possible I need the right script, and it's not an easy script to make. Alright, first of all, I am the author of this mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33951 And what I can gather is people generally like it, I guess. But, some would've liked to see these glow effect happen after you enchant the item. I agree. But the effect isn't as easy as you would think...you would have to replace the nif model after the item has been enchanted. which means a script that detects if the item is enchanted, which then directs the nif path to it's own name with "glow" at the end. The nif model it would redirect to would have the emmissive channel all the way up, which would reveal the glow map. But, it has to also self detect whether the item HAS a nif model with "glow" on the end, and if it doesn't then it would not redirect the nif model. This would make it so items that do not have a glow model, or items from other mods, would not be auto directed if it's enchanted, making it compatible. A real challenge. I've seen coding from OBSE though that may make this possible. Like I said though, I strongly need an experienced coder who knows these codes well enough to pull it off. If you want to help, but have questions about what I'm trying to do, please do say so. Let's work together on this. And by the way, I will be supplying all of the nif models and glowmaps. All I need is coding.
  9. Wow, you guys really like it that much? I wasn't expecting that. Um, thanks. ^_^
  10. The lost journal of Aureal The text is in Daedra. But like magic, the words reform right before you into a language you can understand Day 1: Yes! Daddy finally gave me a journal. It wasn't fair he has all those books, and I didn't have any, hehe. He should've seen it coming. Heck, he probably did. Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmmmm, what should I write about? OH! Today I got a journal! Hahahaha. This is a ridiculous first entry, huh? I don't care, I'm so happy! Day 3: I finally got Mazken to come out of daddy's realm to see my journal. Boy, his large realm is so dull. And GRAY. He just doesn't appreciate fine beauty. "Beauty is an illusion." UHG! That's not the point, DAD! Anyway's, I had to take Mazken to Mom's realm to star gaze. Oh golly, the stars are so beautiful in her realm! I wish I could spend more time with her...all this hiding is really annoying. All we do is train. Train train train, train to fight, defend, and fight. Day 4: Why did dad ever pick mom? I've been wondering that all day today after visiting Moms realm yesterday. She's so...pure, and beautiful. She loves life, color, and light. Maybe dad isn't so dead to beauty as I thought...or maybe he's looking for what he's missing. Am I psycho analyzing a Daedric Prince? Maybe I shouldn't do that...of course, I am his daughter, I can do whatever I want! Neh neh. *skip ahead a couple of pages* Day 415: Hello again diary. Sorry for the long...delay...I haven't written for months and months. I've been running. Me and Mazken have been fighting for our lives. They found us. They found out what daddy did. I have found an unusual ally. Molag Bal, the corrupter. Daddy said to stay away from him, but he's grown a liking to my twin sister...probably because of her seductive nature. He might even be in love with her, I've seen how he looks at her. Mazken better be careful. Day 435: Is he crazy!? Molag Bal has contacted Mehrunes Dagon! Mehrunes Dagon, of all people! I'm so worried now. Mr. Dagon said he can't get directly involved, thank goodness, but allowed Molag Bal to use his realms power. what good is that going to do us? He said he has a plan, whatever. Nothing good comes out of the fires of Oblivion, only monsters. I hate monsters. I hate Molag Bal. I hate all evil things. Mazken doesn't seem bothered by it...that makes me even more worried. Day 436: I...heard...what they did to daddy. He knew they would find out about me and Mazken, but...he never mentioned this! How could he have no seen it? The library should've predicted it, but there was nothing. There's only one prince I can think of that can...they say the forgotten prince is a myth, but I think that's only because he wants it that way. He's the only prince I can think of that can be forgotten by the library. It makes sense, who else can curse a Daedric Prince with madness!? At least they never found out about Mom, last I heard she was safe...Molag Bal is comforting my sister...I should be the one doing that. His words are filled with lies, he keeps saying he's going to make this right. No one can make this right. Daddy's gone. Day 440: Mom contacted me! I was so happy to hear her voice again. She has such a great plan to get daddy back, I love her so much. While she watches over daddy, she has a plan how we can use Oblivion. I'm going to have Mazken seduce Molag Bal to use Mehrunes Dagon's realm to make copies of me and Mazken! MILLIONS of them! An army, for daddy. They'll both be given to the "Madgod" with great fighting spirit and loyalty that he'll just love. Golly, they'll be much better than his current guard, unloyal and ruthless Daedra. He'll love our copies. They'll give a certain sense of order to his realm too, which is currently in ruins from chaos. Day 450: It's working! Only 9 days have passed since making the copies and everything changed so fast. Daddy has shaped his realm around our copies personalities, that's so awesome. Mazken is so happy to. We're having a party tonight. Mom says the copies are infused with an enchantment that will make daddy transform back into his original self for a short time at the end of every era, and I'll get to see him! The only downside is...He'll have to kill everyone in his realm first. No one can bear witness to our meeting...and it'll only last about from a day to a week. Then he'll transform back...I'm conflicted about that...but it's been so hectic, and so long, I care little anymore. Day 500: I'm trapped...they took Mazken, I don't know where...I don't recognize these Daedra. Has the forgotten prince come after me!? No, I must not be forgotten. My sister can't be forgotten. I have her armor and sword. I'm sending these, and my own armor, to where no Daedra Prince can find them, to Mundas. They'll be safe there. I hope someone will find them, and this journal, and remember us. Please remember us. Please don't forget about us. Someone find us. Find my sister. Please. ----------------------- This is meant to be the start of a much bigger e[pic quest I've always wanted to do. If you'd like to take up this project, lets work together. I'm not a programmer, just a story teller. So, if you wanna join up, I'll make the story, you make it happen. XDD
  11. Hahahahahaha, Neon signs? Well, I generally like to keep as lore friendly as possible. If it glows, it's actually gotta make sense. I'm actually thinking of making a quest to explain why some of these armors glow, which would be fun. XP I'm also trying to be very careful to make the glow look like it belongs, and actually adds to the thing it's making glow. For example: right now, I have the Dwarven armor glowing, but it has so many splotches of black, it makes the armor look old. It looks like spots where the glow has given out, and been damaged. Stuff like that adds more character to the armor. ^^
  12. For the runes, yeah well the issue comes that if one things glows...they ALL will glow. XDD So to add a secret message to one stone texture will add it to everything that has that texture. Even if it's not complete. I might be able to get away with putting a NEW stone somewhere in the world, and adding it's own special texture with it's own glow map. That could work...maybe....I'll play around with it. Anywhere specific you had in mind to have this message? =P Edit: well then again, if the Emissive channel isn't turned up, it won't matter anyway...like I said, I may play with it. XD Glowing Oblivion writing...that sounds interesting, and can be added to all the architecture. That sounds cool, give them a slight ominousness red glow. XD
  13. *snaps* now there's something I hadn't thought of, that's a fantastic Idea. I'll see if I can include this in the mod, thanks! ^__^ Actually, tobolococo, there's already a great mod that does that with new eyes that look SO much better than the old ones. Here I'll give you a link: Elaborate Eyes Once you download, just keeps looking through the eyes ingame until you reach the glowing ones. =D As for the horse, this is the closest I could find to what you saw: Link to Mod what you saw was probably an edited version of this. I'm not a modeler though. o_o I can't make like glowing flames. I can however give you a skeleton horse with eyes that glow in the dark.
  14. This topic is set up for two particular, yet equally different, things. XD 1: I am requesting input to your personal opinion of what you've seen in Oblivion you just WISH would glow in the dark, something that you think would look awesome if it glowed. Doesn't have to be armor or weapons, it can be objects. Or even scenery! =O 2: If you'd like glow map services for your OWN mod, I'm your guy. GASP! CREDENTIALS!? Eek, well, here's my resume: Link to my mod Download the mod, and judge for yourself. =D I can make Glow maps of many different colors, different brightness ratios, sharp or fuzzy, or even hidden messages you can only see in the dark. I'm rather quick at making them, and I put 100% into them...and I love doing them. =3 So if you need a guy to make a glow map or two, let's talk. Extra note: I am currently working on a big mod that will give many stock Oblivion armor and weapons glow maps, as well as other things. This topic is to partly help with that. =D Here's a link to a topic about that: Mod Topic
