  1. It's been a while since I worked on magic effects, but do those have textures attached to them?

    If I correctly remember you can mostly adjust different kinds of glows and effects in nifskope, but you still need to adjust textures to make them fit?
    (I might be wrong, as said I haven't touched magic effects in aeons.)

  2. Not bad idea at all.

    One thing that really has hassled me always is that if your race is "dedicated" mage, it can actually become less powerful mage than a race without dedication to it.

    Example:
    If all your magic skills are boosted by 10/5, you can get less leveling XP by leveling them to max.

    Though it only really matters at earlier levels. I've played mage with almost any race, but I recall that Orcs got early levels really fast when compared to elves.

    Getting Sort-of class system is not bad. I actually hope that next TES game brings them back.

    Classless multitalent god system is just not something I like. It doesn't only affect your leveling, but it affects the fact that rest of the game needs to be levelled to high levels as well, which has it's own problems.
    By default skyrim is funniest around levels 30-40, after that it becomes really weird.
    Some things have HP pools about the size of Sea of Ghosts, and some things practically die when you sneeze at them.

    So, balancing game for 0-40 levels would work in a game like this, but higher than that becomes madness.

    Anyhow, I wish you luck! I'll track this and provide insight randomly. I'd really love to see mod that changes original races in immersive manner.

  3. I think you mean to assigning mesh for female version of armor that didn't have any before?

    For example:

    EBUN ARMOR OF DRAGON SLAYA, when equipped by male it looks fantastic, when you equip it on female you turn invisible.

     

    Am I going to right direction? If I am I'll give you description on how to do it.

  4. DCO, Dragon combat overhaul is something different and entertaining.

     

    I'm using it combined with "The New Dragons" mod and results are hilariously dangerous. Dual dragons summoning minions for them, so I really need to lash out those powerful spells from spell packs.

     

    Erkeil's dragon overhaul was fun because dragons had some skills you wouldn't normally see on them. (I especially loved the dragon that actually could turn invisible, walk behind you and one-hit kill you while turning visible.), but I haven't used it for a while now.

  5. Easier to learn using LOOT to be honest.

     

    Also, read mod descriptions. That's usually the reason people are "bad" at adding mods. You end up overwriting wrong stuff and thus brick your game.

     

    also, CTD's aren't always coming from load orders etc; sometimes it might be vram running low, script lag/crash etc, so you need to do a bit tinkering to get it right.

     

    Some mods might be outdated without realizing it. Just finishing up whole clean/reinstall procedure on my end because I had some issues, but realized a bit too late problem might have been on the script side.

    Whatever you are building, it's best to make it right on first try. This is tutorial that tells you how to make vampirism/lycantrophy work properly, serves as a really good base for creating new race as well.

     

    As after you have made the "base" you can tinker around with everything else later. If you are making mod for your own use, nexus has tons and tons of modders resources, and resources you can just pull off from other's work for your own use.

  7. Well, usually the 600 pages of comments do consists of many questions, and answers.

    Nobody expects that you read through 600 pages of comments, but even first three - five pages can help you.
    Especially if it is a popular mod there is much likely someone else having the same issue. In case nobody on recent comments has it, it's either non-breaking issue, or nobody has reported it (And in that case you should ask about it or take a look at your mod list, description etc.)

  8. Ironically steam workshop is the place where people upload ripped content. Most likely nobody is checking what's in there and thus the stuff stays for longer time.

    Anyhow, as said previously, you can do alterations and whatever on your own pc, but you are not allowed to upload any of the contents.

    I'm not going to start citing a law here. It should be enough when you backtrace MERP and some other projects that got taken down because of copyrights

  9. Well, I wouldn't really bother putting big mod like that on my game just to disable most of the things it could add.

    I don't really recall any mods that only do this change, probably closest you could get is to get "Vampire Upgrade" (Search with that from nexus).

     

    It doesn't add any scripted stuff, massive buffs etc; mainly just improves a bit and gives weakness to silver.

    Using it myself, never tried those bigger vampire mods.

  10. I really hope we see improved AI like this in next Fo/ES game.

    AFAIK wolves currently have some kind of "common sense", they do seem to favor engaging combat from side or behind.

    But yes, some of the creatures should act in different manner depending on the situation.

  11. I'd assume it's impossible to add brand new function to it, but probably something Dark souls 2'esque could be done and when you are shooting your armor rating would go up/ you could have the spell ward effect on so you block spells from front etc.

Well to be honest if they let people mod them like when the maker of the dragon bone armor made his mod they ended up asking him if they could make that a dlc if skyrim modders made their own lotr mods of locations from the movie or even the books that have never been seen then they could do the same thing and make a awesome game.

     

    true that. Also, just take a look at ESO's creatures and some beasts modders made for Skywind and you realize how much zenimax copied from Skywind team.

I think the best alternative to marriages is if you got reallly 'close' to your companions which you can have sex with them during right times (I think sex can refill your health/magicka/stamina maybe...maybe that something that protects you and your partner from pregancy which converts the reproductive properties into to that...since there has to be magical or even alchemical means of birth control and also 'sex magic' has to exist somewhere in Tamerial which maybe there should be a side quest of gaining this before considering having sex with you companion character if they want to, which maybe even better your companions choices can be random or during certain times which when they say 'yes' it means yes but if they say 'no' it means no which therefore the option is off which prevents your character being a rapist and of course vice versaly maybe your companion can ask if s/he wants to have sex with you and you make that decision to say yes or no yourself.) but other than that they'll still be your companions/allys than wives/husbands.

     

    I was already writing a message about hijacking thread, however it's your thread and now your opinion is completely different?

    So you'd want sex but you want to remove marriage from the game? Really?

     

    It's not for me to judge really, but I wouldn't have interest to work on such a mod.
