Now that the REDkit has been out for a while, I was wondering if there are any mods on here that were made using it. Can you point me to a few of the ones that are recommended?

Trolls are spreading disinformation about the Nexus.

According to a twitter post, the Nexus nuked a thread requesting such a mod. But it is twitter so, I don't know if the screenshots provided are reliable or not. But the twitter post implied that there is some kind of unwritten policy in place. But I cannot confirm nor deny if this is true. -
Trolls on Steam are spreading disinformation about Nexus Mods and Starfield. I suggest debunking these rumors before another controversy erupts on here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1716740/discussions/0/3824173836671135762/

I recently stumbled upon a mod in which the author is calling for people to protest a real life event in the comments. I am not sure if this allowed or not considering the strict policies surrounding real life political issues on here. Since we don't know if this protest could turn unlawful and could potentially drag the Nexus into a law enforcement investigation, should we be allowing this kind of thing on here? If the Nexus permits calls to protest, then just lock/delete this thread.

I was downloading a new mod for Skyrim SE and the CDN was blocked by my security hardened browser. I was given an alert that the Nexus CDN was pushing something malicious but I don't know what. I said to allow the download anyway but you might want to check the back end and see if something managed to get through. Here is an image of the alert:

One of the mod authors on here is planning on withholding significant amounts of new content for a mod he is working on and placing it behind a paywall on Patreon. I am not sure if the non-solicitation rules regarding donations apply to external sites or not. But I am assuming that they do. I would like to mention, this author is still providing updates to this mod on the Nexus but is simply withholding significant parts as "Patreon Exclusive Content".

We need a megathread of all mod authors who nuked their accounts and links to their mirror sites on here. And yeah, we can always move to that other site filled with Sanguine worshipers and practitioners of the Dibellan Arts. It is pretty much the only other major site out there.

I just used LOOT to organize my load order and now my world map is stuck like this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/281071 I have no idea what to do because this has never happened to me before and now I am in complete panic mode because I cannot figure out what caused it. Here is my load order:

This just happened today after starting a new playthrough. The game will crash at random and just before it happens, weird graphical artifacts will show up in the menus. These artifacts appear to be what causes the crashes because as long at I don't open a menu, this doesn't happen. Also it only seems to start after a few minutes. People say this seems to happen with the safety load plugin but I don't have this installed on my game. Yet it still happens. Others think it might be a broken GPU but I cannot replace that because I play on a gaming laptop. This is what happens: https://imgur.com/kAuwSzm I have no idea how to stop it. My computer isn't broken is it?

So I have been trying to port this saddle mesh from Oblivion over to Skyrim (The Oldrim version). I have followed the tutorials on how to port meshes using Blender but I have been running into problems with it not loading at all. It is hard to understand since I am not good at working with meshes. Since it is a ported model, I cannot post it here. But if anyone wants to help me with it, I can send it via a PM. NOTE TO MODS: I didn't exactly know where to put this thread. So if it should be in a different board, then please move it to where you think it should be. If this kind of thing is against the rules, then just lock it.

In response to post #39477815. #39477935, #39477995, #39478485, #39479710 are all replies on the same post. If filefront is shutting down then your mods will be gone forever. Quite frankly I am shocked to the core to hear that people would allow their own hard work simply tank like that. I know people who did that and ended up seriously regretting it later.

Also make sure that you keep an air gap between your backup files and your computer since both programs will search for connected drives and encrypt them too. Keep your backups isolated from the computer. Also watch out for what you download off of other sites as this malware can spread through that too and via covert drive-by downloads from compromised webservers (sites). Keep your anti-malware up to date and also it is best to maunally scan all files you download from any site before opening them. Personally I only backup my libraries and program and game files since the OS files are expendable and can be reinstalled at anytime.

I searched the forums for this topic already and could not find it so I decided to start. This is very important information! Anyway there has been a new set of ransomware programs making the rounds on the internet recently called Tesla Crypt and Alpha Crypt. These new programs are designed to encrypt all game files including ones for Skyrim and such. They encrypt the files with the AES-256 Symmetric Block Cipher which has been approved by the NSA for protecting top secret data and then demand bitcoins in exchange for the key to decode them. (The program itself claims to have encrypted them with 2048 bit RSA but that is not true.) Here is the article: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/teslacrypt-alphacrypt-ransomware-information If your files have been affected then there is a program that can decrypt the files on your computer by the Cisco Talos Group (Yes actually use that name.). And there are also a few others that work with the more recent AlphaCrypt listed in the article too.
