  1. Hey there, since i like the settlement building feature and also like to build them beyond the settlement limit and try to decorate them very detailed as if they were part of the original game, i quickly get fps issues. So i was wondering: I came across lots of mods which make it possible to build in new areas (where you cannot build in vanilla game). In some of the mods descriptions it says that "precombined meshes have been disabled" so that you can scrap lots of stuff. My Question: Is there a mod or possibibility for the other way round? Means that, when i have finished a settlement, is it possible to make all the meshes/objects combined for everything that i have build and everything that is in the settlement area to make it permanent (no building/scraping etc.) ? And will this gain fps and performance? thx for answers :-) best, kammi
  2. Hey there, sry for my not responding. was kinda very busy last month. just a tip if you have a new graphic card (or maybe even when you update drivers). i forgot to completely delete the old drivers and just did overwrite the old ones (980ti -> 1080ti). i just used the nvidia installer which i thought would get rid of all old drivers. thought wrong (at least thats what i have read) i then used a tool called "display driver uninstaller" DDU to completely remove all display drivers, then installed the newest again. i did get quite a noticable fps gain, although i am still not satisfied ;-) maybe that helps some of you.
  3. @mighty zog already tried this with my modded game install. if the line was on 0 or 1 didn´t change anything. Right now i have a clean install, only vanilla settings, vanilla ini and no mods. still heavy drops on maxed out settings. what really should not be the case. @sopmac well sanctuary is heavy build up, (altough its much less now that i have no mods). yes all mods were removed, fallout4 completely deleted, all folders wich were left deleted by hand, registry cleaned. there was no evidence of fallout 4 afterwards ;-) now completely new install, no mods. just did some monitoring (there is a little tiny increase compared to my modded game before but still not satisfying: bulit up sanctuary: - can trigger drops to 27fps on certain spots views (before clean install it was 24fps) GPU: 61% max CPU: 77% max RAM: 5,2 GB / 16GB max VRAM: 6,8GB / 11.2GB max no the really strange thing: walked around and found an intensive vanilla place (no workshop area) - could trigger drops to 45fps (wich would be totally ok) GPU: 100% max (so there the GPU was limiting but i get 45FPS????? ) CPU: same RAM: same VRAM: same i am clueless... :-/
  4. Well, just had a quick jump into the game yesterday night, when the download finished. since i have some stuff and work to do, i am not sure if i will manage to get some further hands on today. First impression is very disappointing though. - Clean Vanilla Game install - No Mods - No Tweaks - Maxed out vanilla graphic - Played in WQHD Haven´t installed an fps counter/monitor on my first hands on but the impression is like nothing has changed. drops to the 20ies in sancuary/heavy built area and drops in vanilla downtown (no settlements). im kinda frustrated. this seems to be a bad joke. but i will start further testing/monitoring when i can spare some time :-/ greetz
  5. Hey, yeah i hope so, too. What i can say, after a further testing. Its not the custom textures. disabling them had no fps gain or did reducing the drops. Its not the ENB either. Deactivating it gains about 3-5 FPS overall in some area but didn´t do anything to the heavy drops below 30FPS or sometimes 20FPS, maybe messed up ini, i dont know... sooo long story short: fallout 4 downloading again right now. didn´t know what else to do. It´s not that the whole reinstalling, modding, tweaking is a pain in the ass for me. it´s more out of time reasons that i was trying to avoid it. it´s even kinda fun modding and optimising all that stuff. And i will not quit using my 4k textures/enb/workshop mods ;-), but this time i will first have a clean install and have a look how it runs and then add mod after mod, tweak after tweak to see what is possible and where the fps went. let´s see where this will lead me to :-) but overall nothing explains my initial problem why my hardware still had enough headroom while having low fps. so there must be something else. and if somebody knows anything concerning this i am still interested in finding solutions for the future. best, kammi
  6. 100% agree on this, though. I dont use any of them. i think i tried true storms and another one (NAC?) ... deleted both and stick to vanilla.
  7. Hey Sopmac45! thx for your reply and your suggestions. and i am pretty shure that your solutions will solve the fps drops. but a clean re-install would be the very very last solution. the thing is that i do not get what actually causes the performance drops. as i said i monitored my hardware while attending fps intensive spots (maxed out settlements, downtown etc.). but on all hardware compnents i had plenty of headroom, and none was limiting, so there must be another problem besides my mods and grafic enhances. i also think that we have a little different taste in what we think looks great ;-) i know how fallout looks unmodded in wqhd, settings ultra. the problem in my eyes isn´t the sharpness but the overall lack of quality textures in vanilla game. some are ok, but some are just a joke (in an otherwise amazing game) and yeah i know... grafic isn´t everything, but in my case it is a big aspect in my overall gameplay experience. so to make a long story short: reinstall ist my last option if i cannot manage to fix the issue otherwise. it has a couple of more reasons besides my needs to play in maxed out grafics :-D (like rare playtime, risk of loosing my safes) By the way, when i compare my fallout 4 to some others it´s not that heavy modded. and there are (at least if i believe what some people are writing) less powerful setups that can run modded fallout 4 on stable fps and at least do not drop below 35-40 fps (wich would be totally ok for me) so if there are any other suggestions, tips and tricks, they are highly appreciated. if you need infos on specs, mods, ini config, just ask. best kammi
  8. Hey there, so my problem are very heavy FPS drops in some city areas (down to 30FPS) or in heavy built up areas (for example: below 20FPS in heavily built up Sancuary) my game is heavily modded with visual enhancements (ENB, 4k texture packs) i know, you want to say: "too heavy modded, turn down shadows, deinstall 4k packs"... BUT. The thing is i updated my grafic card to a 1080 ti amp extreme. Through fallout monitor i could see that my former GPU was at 100% limiting in sanctuary, so it would explain the drops, But since the upgrade nothing has changed FPS-wise. Now Im only at 71% gpu max (in worst areas). And all other Components aren´t limiting too. cpu: 60 - 70% max value, vram: 8gb max value (11gb available), RAM 4-5 GB max. value (16GB available) .so i kind a dont know what the problem is. maybe anyone here knows the trick. specs: 4790k i7 4GHZ GTX 1080 ti Amp Extreme (newest driver) 16GB RAM Installed on SSD WIn10 64Bit i use enboost and shadow boost. greetz, kammi
  9. hey csb... really think its overwhelming my gcard?? i think its strange because its only with this one texture and i had no problems with lagging... well ill try out the program thx for your reply
  10. hey csb... really think its overwhelming my gcard?? i think its strange because its only with this one texture and i had no problems with lagging... well ill try out the program thx for your reply
  11. i was able to filter the 2 files that causes the problem.... its the "rockcanyoncluster01.dds" and the "rockcanyoncluster01_n.dds" from the "rocks addon terrain pack" by mcneil. but the rockcanyonclusterfile from the regular terrain pack works.
  12. ok seems to be solved by now. i head no freezez while fast traveling for a while. what i ve done: i started moving the texture folders one by one outside the data folder ( as mentioned by fredyzg) to see what texture makes my pc crash. when i ve moved out the landscape folder the game works, so it should be one of the new landscape textures. to find out what texture is causing the problem i will move in the textures one by one untill the game crashes again. but ill do this after work and then post what i ve found
  13. no i have only deactivated the archiveinvalidation invalidated program, so all graficmods were disabled. all the new textures are in the data/textures folder and i actually dont know exactly which texture belongs to which mod anymore. oh and i dont know if this is important. i have the latest fallout update und my grafic card drivers are up to date too.... i just updated them but it didnt solve the problem
  14. hmm ... no ive tried that.... game still freezes after my second travel after loading. the problem starts after installing the mods and is gone when i dont use the mods. thx
  15. i have severeal grafic mods installed ( Megaton Max resolution pack, Rivet City Max Resolution, NeilMc Terrain Pack & the Rocks addon pack, Shinier Roads patch, Fallout3 High Definition Pack V1.00 <--- seems to be a compilation ) im using archiveinvalidation invalidated. the game crashes randomly (but very often) when i use the fast travel option. i have tried to turn of the autosave function but it didnt work my system: System: Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3 CPU: E6750 @ 2.66 GHz 3,5 GB RAM ( normally 4 but xp cannot use all) grafic: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (896MB) thx for the help and sry for my english
