  1. If one of the mods uses a BSA, get BOSS and run that. It'll not only reorder your mods so that they work in the most functional way, but also change the dates as Oblivion loads in plugins and associated assets according to their timestamps.
  2. Anybody know how to get custom shaders to work on clothing? I've done the whole process (create custom shader, create magic effect script to activate shader, create enchantment to use scripted effect, place on desired clothing) but when I wear the enchanted clothing, the shader doesn't show up. Do custom shaders require some sort of workaround or does apparel only use shaders attached to magic effects?
  3. Are there any differences between how to set up custom meshes in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas? The reason that I ask is because I've hit a snag where my upcoming mod works fine in Fallout 3, but in New Vegas it uses a random loaded texture and the texture changes depending on what angle you look from. Is there a solution to that? ...Nevermind, I forgot a folder when creating the folders while copying over for New Vegas.
  4. Same here, Tried twice, rezipped the mod after both failed, tried again, and got the same result. I've hidden my mod until this gets sorted out.
  5. I think I figured out part of the problem. It's something to do with the load order of the page and the preferences set by the user. From what I found, setting the default homepage feed tab to anything other than Tracked Files works just fine. Otherwise, the result comes from the page taking a long time to load or never loading before the connection resets. So it sounds to me like the fastest hotfix to make right now is to have the AJAX script that manages the tabs and content not trigger until all the other page content loads.
  6. Recently I've noticed a strange problem with Nexus's main page for Oblivion mods - It seems to be taking a lot more time to load than the other mod main pages, or outright does not load before a server reset. Despite this, directly accessing the images or new mods page (or any page connected to that main page) do not have the same problem. I've logged out and back in, but it has not made a difference. So any idea on what would be causing this, and has anyone else had the same problem?
  7. You can download the above dress at the link right here.
  8. I'm pretty sure that mod is outdated and has been replaced by this: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/37377/
  9. Pretty sure this is PC since it's a common "bug" that happens when you use a custom race. This should be fixed if you use the Unofficial Oblivion Patch here on the Nexus.
  10. If you're looking for an easier version of HGEC, then look into EVE Eyecandy Variants: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/24078/? It does have a smaller cup size as an option during installation.
  11. I have noticed a pattern. It seems in the morning (approx. 4-9AM EST), the DoS attacks aren't occurring. We can rule out most of Asia and Australia as the source of the DoS attacks in this situation. That means that the DoS or DDoS attacks are likely within Europe, Africa, South America, or North America. For DoS we'd just have to guess, although request intervals should give them away. As for the DDoS botnets, I'd do an IP lookup on these countries - If we are lucky, we will find that most of the botnet IPs nearly match in number, aside from the last digit - Hackers and spammers are often smart enough to not use the botnet farms that share these IPs, unlike the kiddies and the tools they download.
  12. I think the best remedy here is that NMM just needs an independent server. Combining NMM and site traffic together is causing all these 502 problems as we now know. If NMM was updated to use its own independent server that uses daily updates, be it manual or automatic, and on a completely different pipeline that doesn't interfere with the Nexus site network, the problems would go away. It may be somewhat inefficient cost- and resource-wise, but until whatever networking problems it is causing are ironed out it should probably be isolated to its own network for the time being.
  13. Keep getting a bunch of 502s from the skyrim.nexusmods.com. Maybe it's just me, but perhaps it's time to rework the server networking again, and come to the conclusion that NMM on a single dedicated server with just daily manual or automatic updates on a independent database might clean up the problems with slow loads and bad requests. It's probably just not a good idea to let NMM traffic share the same pipeline as site traffic, if that's still the case.
  14. 450W you say? Well, believe it or not, if you have a standard setup (one optical drive, one to two HDDs. 50-75W CPU) you should be able to use any card equal to or lower than a Nvidia X80 or AMD HD XX70 (X's replaced by the series). But, just be aware that you'll be limited to using only one GPU until you upgrade your PSU, and that some smaller PCs use a "slimline" or low profile slot setup, which drastically reduces your choices as you have to buy a graphics card that is designed for low profile cases.
  15. Note that BBB does not activate unless you have animation replacers that do use BBB.
  16. Remember when they were talking about making SCII's multiplayer free? Is it because of a lack of interest, or perhaps a lack of players being able to afford a $40 game? I'm pretty sure the Diablo II warchest still sits at $20, and that you have to pay over $100 to get everything that's been released for WoW. I really can't say that their pricing is wrong, but that's just how Blizzard is - Bundle games to make them look like it's a bargain at the price they are offered. Whether that's true or not depends on the person.
  17. There's a lot of potential I can see here that would be amazing to do. For instance, their disasters can be crop failures and bandit raids, even the plague. Choosing which time to start in can even have benefits - Say you start in 500 AD, you might have a few Roman ruins around that can offer stone resources or valuable treasures that you can sell to expand your coffers. Or perhaps start during the 1300s when towns run by wealthy merchants began proliferating; there's just a lot of good ways where this can go, and for that reason it's actually got my interest now.
  18. sounds like the hard drive is near the end of its life - All that fragmentation and low RAM amount would've caused major thrashing to the disk while using XP's page file for additional memory storage. You might try getting a new 2.5" disk/SSD and see if it's any faster. You should have no problem finding one with more space than the current one at a price lower than $50 nowadays.
  19. Didn't they do this before the release to determine if there was enough interest in a PC version? Because I remember something similar being done by Capcom, and it only got ~35000 signatures, or at least not enough for them to consider.
  20. It sounds like a fully functional Nif Import/Export plugin is finally coming, meaning being no longer being stuck with using 2.49! :D
  21. I think you'll get rid of your problem if you install and run TES4LODGen to regenerate the LOD meshes.
  22. The worst issue that puts the PS4 at high risk, thanks to its x86-based architecture, is the ease of emulation. However, I think that it's a double-edged sword; what comes with that risk is also the possibility that, if they choose to include a form of media that allows hard copy sales, makes it possible for PC owners to play PS4 exclusives, which could very well double or triple their sales. Of course, this will go unnoticed until A)sales of exclusives exceed that of consoles sold, and/or B) their next console is not based on the similar architecture that PCs are using. Additionally, the developers that they need to grab attention of right now are indies that are growing into full companies due to successful titles. However they aren't answering the big question: Is the console open? Which, for the most part, has been the big problem; it seems that in an industry where accessibility for the developers and players is one of the biggest issues, the ones calling the shots are control freaks too paranoid to let others mess around with their creations.
  23. What's your processor speed? Oblivion can't make full use of multi-core processors, so as a result it'll treat your multi-core as a single-core processor, which thanks to the preference of more cores and less speed performs like a processor that came out in 2002. Speedtree also tends to be a major issue with the game - with all that animation going on, it can really eat up resources. Reduce the tree visibility and see if it performs any better.
  24. Oi. The fact that this could have been a better game if they had just kept it offline and true to the core by enabling landscape editing saddens me. I've played all previous four to an extent, but this just reeks of meddling that the developer didn't need to get into. Guess I'll just have to wait for a good spiritual successor to come along. :(
  25. There's actually five types of HDMI. I'm guessing that you actually have a Type C (miniHDMI) instead of Type D (microHDMI), because that is what is on my GTX 580. Here's a comparison pic courtesy of Wikipedia: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a5/HDMI_Connector.jpg EDIT: Just saw that you "solved" your problem. Now I have to ask - Why would they go and do that? Micro-display isn't even supported by most TVs and monitors yet, and in order to make them work with a more modern TVs and monitors you have to use a converter box! Another example of poorly introducing new tech without considering the compatibility of current tech...
