  1. Hey y'all! I haven't ever posted anything on these because usually I either figure it out or just reinstall everything and hope it fixes the problem, but I don't really want to do that this time and I don't know if that'll even help. So I'm here! So, like in the title, I get some CTD's. I don't have too many--for once, I'm known for destroying my games with mods--but any time I try to fast travel to Diamond City Market, or if I just save inside of it, I get a CTD. I can't access any of my saves inside of Diamond City Market; if I scroll back to a different save, I can always access my save. I can fast travel to Diamond City just fine, but all of my characters that try to go to Diamond City Market cause a CTD. What really set this off was that when I was trying to finish Maccready's personal quest--literally at the last step, giving the cure to Daisy--it will crash. Only if I enter Goodneighbor or if I try to complete the quest through the console. Nothing else--other than the previously mentioned Diamond City crash--will crash my game. I really wanna finish Long Road Ahead, but I'll settle for being able to save in Diamond City Market. Any help is appreciated! I do have a lot of mods, yes, so here's my load order:
  2. Again, I have to reiterate that I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm a writer, not a... computer nerd, for lack of a better term. My brother and mother do most of the upgrading/fixing on my computer. The most I know how to do is work TES5Edit, create merge patches, clean dirty edits, ect. Most of what you just said went right over my head. If there's anyway you could dumb it down a bit for me, that would be much appreciated.
  3. Yep. Ran the performance monitor again, and the highest my RAM got to was 1949MB. It crashed when I tried to take out my sword when riding my horse, though. Might be because the horse is a mod, so I'm not too worried. I can't fight while on a horse anyway. I'm terrible at that. VRAM did stay at 0MB. Not sure what to make of that, since I have no idea what VRAM does, but if that might be causing a problem, maybe it is my actual computer and not Skyrim.
  4. I cleaned all of my master files like you said, and I also used the performance monitor. I'm not sure what it means, but my VRAM never moved from 0 MB and my RAM got up to a maximum of 2,794 MB. Again, not really good with computers, so I have no idea if that's too much. In any case, this is the first time I've been able to actually get to Riverwood and not crash. Managed to get all the way to Whiterun and start talking to the Jarl before it CTD. I'm guessing that means I have too many script intensive mods. Can you suggest some to disable? I'd really rather not disable Frostfall and Wet and Cold, but I will disable Footprints and Enhanced Blood. i may be wrong but your ram usage may be the problem because of your 32 bit windows... but its odd your vram showing you 0mb So it's not odd to just me? Good, I thought I was going insane. I need to run the performance monitor again, because I think uninstalling a few other mods dropped it to about 2000MB. Pretty sure my VRAM is still 0MB, though.
  5. Not sure what you mean by loose files (again, really bad with computers here), but after uninstalling a few other mostly-useless mods, I was able to play for almost two hours before it CTD. That's about what I get with Fallout: New Vegas nowadays, so I'll take what I can get. If it still CTD frequently, I will try what you said. Well, friend, I'm wrong about a lot of things, but at this point, Wet and Cold is best :)
  6. Alright, first, I gotta say that I know they're enabled in my saved games. If I disable one mod, even just one, loading a saved game crashes Skyrim automatically. That's why every time I've been trying to fix this, I've started a new game. Pretty sure I've said that about five times. So I disable the mods, start a new game, and it still crashes. Please, if you really want to help, read everything that I wrote and don't just skim and think you've found the problem. And I prefer Wet and Cold, so we have a difference of opinion. I've cleaned out any dirty edits out of my mods already. Not sure what my BOSS log says right now, but I cleaned out all of the dirty edits and it still CTD. I am aware that the game is flawed. I bought Skyrim the day it came out, modded it the week after. I've never had this problem before, which strikes me as strange. Two years of modding, yet this is the first time I have problems with CTD's? Ah well. My save files keep getting corrupted, so I'm not even able to test it. That's why I'm just disabling more mods. I'm keeping Frostfall and Wet and Cold, though.
  7. Nope, nevermind, it didn't fix it. I crashed about ten minutes in. Urg, I'm gonna have to disable more mods.
  8. Removing Footprints and Enhanced Blood did bring my RAM down to about 2400MB average, but it still crashes sometimes. I guess it's just something I have to deal with. It crashed when I was at the Guardian Stones, but it does that sometimes anyway. Do you know of any other script intensive mods, other than Frostfall and Wet and Cold, that I could disable?

  10. Reuploading this because I need to add a lot of info, and it seems my topic isn't getting much notice. Alright, I know you've all heard this before. Some poor gamer whining about how their game crashes without any prompts, just quits to desktop, and they're too lazy to search the internet to find fixes for their common problem. Here's the thing. I'm not one of those lazy gamers. I've searched for hours, did every fix I came across, and still my game crashes. Doesn't even leave a note. Cheap bastard. Before you ask, yes,, I've run BOSS, TES5Edit, FNIS, deleted all of my saved games and started a new one, and verified the game cache from the Steam properties. I've uninstalled all of my mods and run it cleanly, but it still crashed when I tried to enter Alvor and Sigrid's house. It usually crashes about every two-to-five minutes, or, if I start a new game, on my way to Riverwood. No exceptions. Every time I start a new game, it will crash on my way to Riverwood. It's always after the Standing Stones, but before I can see the gate to the village. From then on, it will crash about every two-to-five minutes I'd really rather not uninstall Skyrim and reinstall all of my mods, but if that's the only way anyone says I can fix this, I will. I haven't messed with the ini file at all, in case you're wondering Also, to answer the question that must have been bugging you for the past three minutes of reading this, I do mod. A lot. I have about 100 mods installed at the moment, and most of them are cosmetic. I'm a vain b*tch, okay? I need this sort of stuff. If needs arise, I will post my load order, but both BOSS and TES5Edit haven't found any problems in my load order. I've followed all of Gopher's tutorials, so I'm almost positive I've installed everything correctly. That man is a life saver. I know someone is going to ask for specs, so this is what I have: 6GB of RAM installed Windows Vista (ewww) 32Bit Graphics card is an ATI Radon HD 5670 And, as for the BOSS Log, this is what it gives me:
  11. Tried this, and now it just crashes when I try to load a game. I even tried creating another new game, still crashes when it tries to load. I undid whatever I had to do to get 4GB working, deleted the patch as well. I cleaned all of dirty edits as well, but now BOSS doesn't show that I have Skyrim installed. Not sure what I did, but I'm thinking editing the ini file has something to do with it.

I'm not one of those lazy gamers. I've searched for hours, did every fix I came across, and still my game crashes. Doesn't even leave a note. Cheap bastard. Before you ask, yes, I have downloaded the 4GB patch, I've done the fix for 32bit Windows Vista (yes, I know it's outdated; my mom's cheap and won't get me Windows 8 ), I've run BOSS, TES5Edit, FNIS, deleted all of my saved games and started a new one, and verified the game cache from the Steam properties. Here's another weird thing I just found. Though my game crashed, no cool little icon that says "Skyrim" on my taskbar, Task Manager still sees that it's open. Not sure if that's related or not, but thought I should include it. Also, to answer the question that must have been bugging you for the past three minutes of reading this, I do mod. A lot. I may be pretty good at modding and gaming, but I am sh*t when it comes to anything electronic. Any help you can give would be much appreciated. I've been dealing with this for about a week now and I really need my Skyrim fix. It's like an alcohol addiction for nerds. *EDIT* Game used to crash about every two minutes. At first, I thought it was because I was fast traveling, but I decided to play tag with the kids in Whiterun and it crashed then too. Deleted all my saved games, got all the way through the tutorial, and was almost to Riverwood when it crashed again. It crashes now when I try to access one of my old save games, doesn't even let me load in. But somehow, I can get through the tutorial and get halfway to Riverwood before it crashes. I'm going to uninstall all of my mods and try it then, but I'm not sure if that'll work. I have not made any tweaks or edits to the ini files. I'm not that good, for one thing, and I just know I'd mess something up if I did. BOSS Log is right here:
