  1. Perfect, thanks! I tried searching but I was using the wrong words since I thought it was a decoction thing.
  2. Note that I'm not sure if this is a visual effect from decoctions, or just when toxicity is high, but it only ever shows up when I use decoctions (which make my toxicity high), so yeah. Anyway, I love decoctions and use them often, but I don't like how they put a bunch of veins on Geralt's face. Any mods or tweaks to remove this visual effect so I can use decoctions without making Geralt look like he's tapping into some kind of dark anime power?
  3. So I progressed in the main quest without doing any Civil War stuff, and so Balgruf is telling me that I need to organize a peace meeting at High Hrothgar if I want to use Dragonsreach to capture a dragon. The problems: - "The Fallen" remains on the "Get the Greybeards' help in negotiating a truce" step. The quest marker is still pointing to Arngeir even though I've exhausted his dialogue and he's told me I need to go speak with Ulfric and Tullius. - As a result, "Season Unending" will not even start. Neither Ulfric nor Tullius have the "I have a message from the Greybeards" option. - I read that this issue may be caused by not having joined a side, so I went to Solitude and joined the Legion (finished the first quest just fine). I'm now facing a similar and possibly related problem in that Legate Rikke won't give me "The Jagged Crown." She and Tullius just stand there going through the pre-quest dialogue, but she doesn't have the dialogue option to give me the mission and start the quest. Setstage commands aren't doing anything, either. I can post my load order if needed, but I don't think I have any mods that would affect this part of the main quest or civil war (everything I have is either cosmetic, adds items/magic, changes gameplay mechanics, or adds standalone quests like Falskaar). Any advice?
  4. This has been a problem for a while, and I'm not sure what's causing it. Could be mod-related but I don't really see how, I don't have any mods that seem like they'd affect this. I've tried altering the value in the .ini file as well as in-game, and nothing works permanently. So far the only fix I've found is to go into options and fix it every time I load a save, which needless to say is annoying. Wouldn't be so bad if it didn't reset to the lowest value. Side note: FoV resets every time too, though that's less annoying to fix. Unrelated problem, might as well throw it out there: Currently having an issue where loading after death often causes a crash. If I load an older save and then quickload, or let the death screen go until it automatically quickloads, it's usually fine - but if I mash F9 as soon as I die, instant CTD. Also having an unusually long freeze when I quicksave (3-4 seconds when it's usually just a quick stutter), might be related. Most likely mod related, but I'm not too worried about it since the workaround isn't much of a problem.
  5. Alright, so I've pretty much fixed all my color mismatch issues by uninstalling Apachii NPCs and messing with the load order of some mods, but now I've got one problem that I can't seem to figure out: Aela the Huntress's face looks like this. The only mods I have now that affect NPC character models and textures are: CBBE Beautiful Elves Beards Lawrens RNG Guards Seranaholic Skyrim Beautiful Followers XP32 Maximum Skeleton CBBE and XPMS are the only ones that should affect Aela. The main all-in-one SBF installer does not include files for Aela due to a bug with her and "The Silver Hand" quest. The mod author says to wait until after that quest has been finished to install Aela's standalone face mod, or else her facial expression will be permanently messed up. That said, I don't understand how her face looks like that no matter which mods I have enabeled/disabled. I've tried disabling all cosmetic mods, and she still looks like that. I've tried enabling several Aela-specific mods (including the multiple Aela options for SBF) and putting them at the bottom of the load list, and she still looks like that. Even when (to my knowledge) every other character in the game looks fine, Aela still has a completely wrong face. What should I try next? Edit: Nevermind, I think I figured it out. I misunderstood what the author was saying about SBF and Aela - SBF All-in-one DOES include a new Aela face, and disabling that mod (but having the rest remain enabled) returns her to her vanilla face. Now I just have to figure out how to get her in line with everyone else... Edit2: ... and discovered the real issue! Looks like any mods that change Aela or make cosmetic changes to multiple followers make her look like this. Having any part of SBF installed (even the modules that don't include Aela) do this, as do any other Aela face mods I try. Looks like it's some kind of conflict between a mystery mod and anything that tries to touch Aela.
  6. ... I feel like an idiot. The entire time, the problem was that I don't have Hearthfire. I SWEAR I did! I distinctly remember buying Hearthfire alongside Dragonborn when DB came out (because I already had Dawnguard but not Hearthfire). Not only that, but I definitely remember encountering beggar children and having the option to adopt them. Well, whatever, a quick $5 should fix this problem...
  7. Okay, this is a weird problem, and the mod's forum thread is pretty slow so I'm gonna try and see if I can get this figured out here. When I have Dawn of Whiterun installed, the game crashes right after the Bethesda logo. I also have Dawn of Riften and Dawn of Windhelm and neither of these mods are causing any problems at all. I don't have any mods that affect Whiterun but not other cities except for Breezehome Enhanced (which is completely compatible with DoW, as DoW doesn't touch Breezehome at all). The only other thing I can think of is a general NPC mod conflicting with the NPCs that are added to the market, such as Apachii SkyHair, CBBE, or Envision Face. I can post my load order if needed, but for the life of my I can't figure out 1) which mod is causing the conflict and 2) why it's crashing on the main menu and not, say, when I try to enter Whiterun.
  8. I deleted EVERYTHING in the Skyrim folder except for the Data folder, and the Data folder only contained Skyrim.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa, Hearthfire.bsa, and Update.bsa. Everything else was wiped out, and then I did a verify cache through Steam and it re-downloaded everything except for those five .bsa files. There should be no scripts or anything from any mods. Well, whatever - it's late, I probably wasn't going to play any Skyrim tonight anyway, and I have an 8 hour shift tomorrow, so I'll just nuke everything and re-download the entire game. Shouldn't be too painful if I just let it run overnight and at work.
  9. So I got fed up with all the problems I was having (many caused by what was basically junk left over from old mods and whatnot), so I decided to pseudo-reinstall Skyrim: I deleted everything in my Skyrim directory except the Skyrim, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire .bsa files, backed up only the mods I want to keep (just so I don't have to re-download all the .rars), and then did a game cache verify through Steam. Problem is, even with nothing but Skyrim, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Update.esm active, I'm getting an instant crash upon launching the game (both regularly and through SKSE). SKSE is the only modification I've installed, but even running the regular Skyrim launcher causes a crash right after the Bethesda logo. Now what could I possibly have done wrong? Should I just bite the bullet and do a full, 100% uninstall-and-reinstall of Skyrim? I tried to cheat by holding onto the big .bsa files so I wouldn't have to re-download those, but... I don't know, maybe I should just start over completely from scratch.
  10. Loot says to clean a file with TES5Edit. So, I clean it with TES5Edit. Then I run Loot again. Loot still says to clean the file. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong that results in the file not actually being cleaned?
  11. Whoo! This thread rocks! I finally got rid of this annoying black flame effect that was stuck on my character (it was one of the Necro effects). Thanks bro!
  12. Nevermind, fixed it! Looks like the problem was something with SkyBoost, so I deleted that and it works fine.
  13. Okay, so I haven't actually played any Skyrim since the update went out (but I did download the update), and when I went to launch it today, SKSE told me it needed a newer version. That's fine and all - went over to silverlock, downloaded the zip file, installed it just like I installed the previous skse updates. Problem is, it's still telling me that my version of skse is incompatible with my version of Skyrim, and says it only works with Skyrim 1.3.10 (or whatever it is that the previous patch was). I know for a fact that I'm using the most recent version of skse though (1.04.10), and I've done nothing different in the way I uninstalled the previous version and installed the new version. I tried verifying game cache - didn't work. Double and triple-checked installation instructions - no dice. Doesn't seem to be a common problem I'm having, either. Any ideas?
