I cant for the life of me, with a modding community this strong, this amazing, this in depth, figure out why this glaring lore-issue has not been fixed? Bethesda didn't put them in for time, or budget or whatever. The idea that they are the only ancient culture on tamriel whose ruins are completely non existent from their supposed homeland is ridiculous, from an in game perspective and was a poor decision on their part IMO. It leaves huge room for artistic design. All these small dungeon/house modders making ludicrously detailed environments, or quests, why not make a beautiful, gleaming arched ruin, gracefully sticking out of that big pointy mountain across from snowhawk or any other untouched mountain, or maybe an entrance buried in a glacier. Call it ''Ancient Sanctum'' or make up a nice elf name like ''Ayarandan''. Sounds legit. throw some skeletons on the ground, because ancient battles / things happened. maybe more pairs of snow elf armor laying around in snow elf chests. maybe have a dead adventurer with a note, or dead-scholar-diaries laying about, make a story. go nuts. you could have a few of these dotted around, using mostly already existing resources with your own unique taste, some small, collapsed. you could do practically anything with this creative-wise, drastically improve immersion from a lore perspective, and assuming they have LODs and look nice, they could make the terrain look better and be super fun to poke around in, even if there are only vanilla enemies, assets or whatever. With all these lore nerds around youd think someone would have thought to do something about this irritating absence of content - the nords did not shout every brick from every foundation. Bethesda just didnt want to.
