  1. I want to try and make javelins a bit more immersive without making them overpowered. Seeing an NPC running around with any more than 2 javelins impaling their body is somewhat unbelievable, I could just increase the damage but that would make them unbalanced and too powerful, currently javelins will stagger their targets, any other ideas are welcome :)

  2. Is this a Javelin or a spear? Dont look like a common spear blow and you ve said previously that javelin + shield wont work?

It's a spear. Unfortunately If I use the 3rd person grip then you can't actually see your hand, only the tip of the spear. So the 1st person grip is actually completely different.

  3. Hi, Soolie, if nothing else there is always immersive first person or maybe these mods would help,

"Stab with the sword" has a first person animation that could stand in until you find something better

On this on i was using the attack power jab animation for 3rd person, but it looks like you already have that covered.

Oh wow C: I was not aware that that mod had a 1st person stab animation. I'll see if I can get permission to use it, or if the author would be willing to make more 1st person animations

  4. UPDATE: I'm writing a patcher using skyproc that will add the spears to the appropriate leveled lists to maximize compatibility. It will also configure any weapons from other mods with the word 'spear' in their name to use the spear animations.

  5. I can't figure out how to make 1st person animations. And as far as I know no one has made 1st person animations for skyrim before. so I'm afraid there probably won't be any 1st person spear animations. Unless you use the immersive 1st person mod.

  6. Hey guys, sorry for being afk for like 2 months :C

I've been working as an environmental artist on a different project since November so that's taken up a large chunk of my time. To be honest the real thing holding this mod back at the moment is the actual spear animations. I'm trying to make animations in blender but it's exporter screws a lot of things up which makes it hard to get animations that actually look acceptable, I was hoping to see if Bergzore would be able to help me out with animations but it seems he's retired from modding :\ Good animators also seem to be very hard to come by so if anyone reading this is able to create good quality animations for skyrim...then I would really appreciate some help :)

sorry for the delay and thanks for being patient everyone.

  7. Fact. I never thought that the authors of Skyrim Realistic Texture Overhaul, aMidianBorn, Project Parallax Remastered, SkySight, EVE (fallout), and Vivid Landscapes would be working together. We have to appreciate the opportunity here.

And possibly the author of Real clouds and tropical skyrim

  8. Also If anyone good at doing animations is reading this could you please contact me? But I do mean good animations  I want them to feel like they were always in the vanilla game. Integrate seamlessly into the game.

  9. This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Tell me, do you plan on making different material spears and javelins, e.g. iron, steel, Imperial (Imperial spears especially would be cool, especially if you could add it to their leveled list of weapons, if they even have one yet), dwarven, etc?

Yep, thats exactly what I plan to do :D

  10. Hey Guys, Sorry for not posting for a few weeks. I haven't been able to work on any modding for the last month and a bit due to university (Engineering) commitments. So no, this project is definitely not dead just delayed

  11. I've just about finished the javelin animations. So once I'm done with them, I might release a video of a run through a dungeon using only javelins :) :)

Also here are some spears I've made from mashing together vanilla weapons (I have not actually modeled them yet, these are just concept images)http://i.imgur.com/AZt6Bzt.png

  12. I also think the vanilla bash makes a lot of sense and is probably the most realistic/ safest option in a real combat scenario.

Because javelins run off the bow system, if sustaining a block possible while weilding the javellin possible or no?

I'm afraid not, However javelins are only meant to be used once or twice before charging in with another weapon :) so you should be able to throw about 2 before you need to change to another weapon such as a sword or spear :)

  13. I guess is might explain things better if I go through the process of using a javelin :)

    1. No weapon is equipped

    2. You equip the javelins (equivalent to taking your bow out)

At this stage you can do a bash attack (hitting people with your bow)

    3. Take a javelin and hold it over your shoulder for aiming (like knocking an arrow)

    4. Throw the javelin (same as releasing an arrow from a bow)

So during the second stage there is not actually anything in the players hands (the javelins are on the players back), this means that only an unarmed animation can be used as a bash attack :)
