I'm tinkering around in the GECK, trying to learn a few things. Right now, I'm playing with the wonderful Fallout Streetlights mod and attempting to add a few additional lights in and around Springville. Getting the lights to work properly is a topic I haven't yet conquered (need to examine the scripts they use), but I have a bigger question to ask. When placing a new object, is it possible to automatically "snap" that object to an existing object? I come from the land of 3D mechanical design, so I'm accustomed to what we call "constraints", where two object faces are stuck together. I'm hoping there's something similar, because the GECK render window isn't nearly as flexible as a 3D CAD program. I know about holding X, Y, or Z to move in a specific direction, but it's pretty tedious. I know I can dial in precision numbers in the Edit dialog box. I've read about this Shift + Q thing, but I can't figure out how it works. I sorta have an idea, but it's not clear. ---- Related question... when I load up the cell I'm working on, is there any way to hide everything BUT what I'm working on? I know I can use 1 to hide individual designs, but I wish there was a way to select the items I want to SHOW and hide everything else. Can I do that? Thanks in advance.
