Alright, so I finally got around to looking into this, because I really wanted a re-texture of something that lacked it. I downloaded this "B.A.E." program, very simple and great for scooping out texture files. Then I edited the textures with a downloaded DDS plugin for my Photoshop, simply made it darker, but then I hit a dead-end. I strugged for hours trying to wrap my head around complex ways to insert the texture onto the mesh, through the Creation Kit, "NifSkope" and all that. Then I got a massive facepalm when I realized something. ALL I have to do is RENAME the texture file to the one I want replaced, and place it in the appropriate directory in the Data folder! No Creation Kit, no NifSkope, and if I already have a texture file, no Photoshop or BAE either! It's that simple! Gaaah, why didn't anyone tell me this instead!? I struggled so long for nothing ;-;

Fallout 4's biggest downfall in my opinion is the lack of a personalized character. No matter how much you get him to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, he's still gonna have the voice of a pansy, and the character of either a saint, or a saint with an attitude. No matter how badass you look, how bloodthirsty your power armor mod looks, or how brutal and hardcore you roleplay your backstory, you still just constantly act like a typical middle-aged cheerful parent. That's the main purpose for this list of mods I'd like to get my hands on, more than anything else in the game! First off, either a mod for several voice modifiers in the character creation, or a mod that makes you outright silent, coupled with Dialogue interface and camera changes of course. I don't mind the voice actors, but it's hard to get immersed in a roleplaying experience when your character doesn't sound anything like you imagine him. Second (this might have to be coupled with a silent protagonist), adding new dialogue options. I'm mostly thinking evil options, as those are the ones we have fewest of in the game (if any ._.) Maybe even bring back the "Terrifying Presence" perk from Fallout 3 and NV that adds unique brutal dialogue options that causes people you talk to to run in fear. Third, this is probably the most demanding, adding evil paths to various quests and side-quests. I don't think there's a single quest in Fallout 4 with an evil path, except for one tiny side-quest. Doesn't have to be big or anything, as long as it's an ethically immoral choice that your character can make, I'm fine with it. Also, if any of these mods already exist in even the slightest way as I've described it, PLEASE TELL ME! That's all.

Editing quests, how do? Also, quest change suggestions?
CyborgRox replied to CyborgRox's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yeah, time isn't much of a problem for me. Haven't played Skyrim in 2 years actually. I'm just preparing for when I'm gonna play it again, which I plan on doing soon-ish. This time I'll be a... nordic Argonian. Dragon scale armor sure fits Argonians well. Haven't played the Companions questline in ages either, so that's a good bonus. Gonna be duel-wielding for the first time, want to make a reskin mod of a black Orcish waraxe. Gonna be great c: -

Alright, thanks for the pointers... on both my topics e-e I'll see if I can find the time/motivation to pull this off eventually. Or, if I'm lucky, find someone who can. -

[insert rant regarding topic not getting replies to purposely bump it for possible replies here] No but really, I can understand that few people know much about this. The least I'll ask for is some pointers to a decent tutorial. -
Cmon guys, really? ANY help, regarding FINDING IMAGES IN MY SKYRIM FILES, would be appreciated. Is that REALLY such an uncommon thing to know about? Or is this Forum just dead?

So I have this mod in mind that I've asked for several times, and searched everywhere for, with no luck. So, as a last resort, I guess I have to make it myself. Problem is, I'm not very experienced with the Creation Kit. I've made a couple of mods editing the properties, enchantments, and adding a texture onto some weapons, uploading them to the Steam Workshop, but that's it, and that was a good while ago. Basically, the mod I have in mind would add new dialogue options, persuasion / bribe / race checks, change hostility of enemies and NPCs, change quest objectives, and change the permanent state of NPCs after the conclusion of the quest. Now, I'm not expecting any voice acting to be done, but if it's possible I could use some existing lines, or maybe edit them with sound software to create new lines. Or just leave them silent, that's acceptable too. But wouldn't be nearly as immersive. If you want a more specific explanation, here's my full plan for the quest (so far):
-
If I had a dime for every time I've failed to find a simple texture mod for a specific item... Seriously, there's so much in the game that I wish were just a bit darker, had less saturation, or don't like the colour of. So, I want to learn how to do that myself. Can't be that hard, can it? I already know the basics of photoshop, so all I need is instructions on finding the texture files, and properly editing them and implementing their changes with the Creation Kit. Any help would be appreciated.

So you want a roleplay friendly way to get every single thing that you need to build everything in the game without any defenders on it? Sure, I have that for you. Also, I have a bucket of fat free lard and a bag of sugar-free sugar here, if you're interested in that! What I am trying to say, beyond playfully poking fun at this idea, that what you want doesn't exist. It can't exist. If you want a cheat, there are cheats. If you want RP friendly resources, those exist too. But you won't find a roleplay friendly infinite resource cheat because infinite resources aren't roleplay friendly in the first place. That being said, look into some of the car scrapping mods. There are a few of them. Cars are very common in the game, and can normally only be broken down for steel (if at all). One of the mods I have looked at even adds the items to these cars as if they were containers, meaning that you can gather resources from vehicles that aren't even near a settlement. I find that a bit cheaty, but you might find it perfect for your needs. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9407/? - Immersive Scrapping. Makes cars have various good resources like fuses. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13139/? - Lootable Cars. This is the one I think you'll like. I didn't say anything about not fighting enemies for the stash though. In fact, I was kind of suggesting that as well. "Maybe a raided/abandoned settlement of sorts"
-
I was thinking something more along the lines of "Getting absolutely everything you'll ever need in a single spot". Maybe a raided/abandoned settlement of sorts? All that would require would be to stuff all the tons of junk into the crafting bench there.
-
So I'm thinking about making a new character in Fallout, this time without scavenging around everywhere desperately for Junk parts I need. However, I want to try and find a way to get unlimited Junk that makes sense in the story, and not just use console commands right away. Of course, the console isn't out of the question. I just have to set up something that would make sense. I wonder if there's a mod for this... I mean, surely someone else must have thought of this by now. Whether or not anyone has actually made something out of it, I have no idea. If any of you guys know, please do tell. If not, then any ideas for how to set this up would be appreciated.

Alright, looks like someone's actually made the mod now, I just haven't noticed. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14339/?

Cmon guys, really? Fishing out a texture file and lowering the hue of it is too much to ask for? I'm starting to wonder why I should even bother with mod requesting anymore...

20-40% of game's textures don't render properly
CyborgRox replied to CyborgRox's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
According to Geforce, my PC actually can't be optimized for Fallout 4, but like I said, it's running decently fine with the settings I'm currently using. -

Alright, my Game Ready Driver needed updating. My current version is 358.91 and the newest one is 368.22 Dammit, it didn't help at all. I even tried lowering the texture quality, and still, nothing. -

I'm only using a few small retexture mods for the Gasmask, Pipboy and X-01 power armor Hotrod paint, and I've had this issue long before any of those mods. One mod I got fairly early though, was a mod for the Dialogue Interface to make the text like the exact dialogue. Here's my GPU: http://i.imgur.com/psm5nBf.png There is one more thing. I used some sort of graphics optimizing program/website to more accurately adjusting the graphics to my PC's performance, but I can't recall what it was, as it's some time ago now. -

Uh... enboost? I was thinking maybe setting my Texture Quality to High or Medium would help, since Ultra could be 'overloading' the game. -
I've had this issue ever since I got the game. A ton of textures simply don't want to render completely, making them look low-res and blurry. I don't know what the cause of this is, but it might be due to my limited graphics settings. Here are some screenshots of the texture issues: Here are the settings I'm using: Resolution: 1600x900 (on a 1920x1080 screen) Antialiasing: Off Anisotropic Filtering: Off Texture Quality: Ultra Shadow Quality: Medium Decal Quality: Medium Light Quality: Medium Godrays Quality: Low Depth of Field: Standard Ambient Occlusion: Off Weapon Debris: Off Screen Space Reflections: On Wetness: On Rain Occlusion: On Motion Blur: Off Lens Flare: On Object Fade: 50% Actor Fade: 50% Grass Fade: 35% Item Fade: 50% Distant Object Detail: High Object Detail Fade: High On these settings, my computer is able to run the game at around 40 FPS, but it can drop to as low as 10 in specific locations. This is just my assumption though, I don't use an FPS tracker.

I'd like a mod to make the "Marine Wetsuit" from the Far Harbor DLC to be darker, to match my Shadowed Leather Armor pieces. Here's a screenshot so you can see my issue: (Yes, I'm using a mod for the black gasmask) http://i.imgur.com/FBfU9ME.png It doesn't have to be A LOT darker, like pitch black. As long as it matches Shadowed Leather, I'm happy. Also, you don't have to do the same to the matching helmet, but be sure to if you feel like it. This seems like an incredibly easy thing to pull off, but if no one is willing to do it, I'd like to give it a try if it doesn't require FO4 Edit. Just walk me through what needs to be done.

"Deliverer" to look like normal 9mm pistols
CyborgRox replied to CyborgRox's topic in Fallout 4's Mod Ideas
-snip- So what you're saying is, I need to make this simple mod myself, meaning the entire Mod Request section is completely useless and might as well not exist at all. Okay then. No, that's fine. Only been waiting two months for this after all. No big deal. -
