Tried to use a PS4 controller, and it worked. reinstalled SKSE and SkyUI, and the keyboard-mouse combo seems to be working again as well. thanks for the help!

I have no clue if this has been done before, but, here goes. I've tried to play the PC version (via steam) using nothing but the PC peripheral (laptop keyboard and wireless mouse), and it worked for me well in the past. However, I did upgrade to the AE version, and, ever since, I've been having issues. My most recent issue is that the mouse buttons does almost nothing in the menus, and if I get a dialog box in them, like the box in the character creation screen that asks if you want to save and name or continue creation, I am unable to select either option. The cursor moves and highlights the appropriate option, but will not allow me to click and select. I have done this with and without mods with the same result. At this point, I am unsure what the next course of action would be, so any assistance in the matter would be greatly appreciated.
