  1. Starting a new topic since using the search always gets me into the new vegas forums. So my problem is this. In New Vegas, when I wanted to load a game, I had to start a new game first (kinda like to initialize the engine) and then load my savegame. Loading my savegame directly resulted in game freezing during loading screen. As of this morning I experience the very same issue in skyrim. After 25 hours playing that one character. The game crashes ust the second the loading screen would disappear (guess based on the time passed), it just freezes. I did install Realistic Needs, which I also uninstalled again, loaded up a old savegame, saved anew, but not fixing it. Right now, if i load an old game, then load my most recent one (with or with out realistic needs mod) works. If I start the game and load my most recent save game right away, it freezes. I guess this is not related to the realistic needs mod in particular, so I post this here. As mentioned above, I played this character with this fixed set of mods for more than 20 hours now without problems. I'm not sure if this is because I installed Realistic Needs or if it is a coincidence. As said. the problem persists even after I uninstall the mod and load a savegame made previous to first installing the mod. Hope you guys can help me.
  2. Though it was the grapics card that changed that may be a point, since I'm using the HDMI Output, which is connected to a soundsystem, which is pluged into my tv. I tried that (just now) and it didn't help. What I also found is a graphics glitch when I look straight up and move (black flickering parts on the screen). Not sure if that is Mod related or something else, so there's to be looking into that. I thought, maybe there is a connection between using the HDMI Out for sound/video, so I tried using my PC-Speakers, but no change there. Anyway, I'll keep looking / testing, but thanks for your advice.
  3. Okay, so I've encountered a strange bug that I have not yet found a solution on, nor did I find anything searching this forum or google (granted I did not search to the last site). Whenever I open the in-game Menu I have a high pitched buzzing/whirring sound in the Quest Tab of the menu, and only there. It's less in the middle menu tab and there's none of it in the System Tab.I recently had to update my graphics card since my old one died on me and I did a clean reinstallation, only using a very selected amount of mods (8 or so), none of them altering any sounds whatsoever. Inventory works fine, everything else does. Only when I bring up the quest menu. I own Skyrim with all Addons, running on a i7-2600K Asus Mainboard 8Gb RAM Nvidia GTX 770 I attached a gif of my mods list from NMM, it's checked with BOSS which said no problems at all. I also checked my Sound Settings already, they are on 44100Khz 16Bit as suggested in many topics related to other sound issues with skyrim. The problem is not really gamebreaking but incredibly annoying, so I'm hoping someone experienced this and can help me. Best regards.
  4. I don't know if it has been said already, but I'm going to say it anyway. For successfull Dualwielding, you need to focus on it from the very beginning. And from what i feel it's still a pain in the ass until you reach a level something around 25. I Put my perks in onehand, light armor and smithing and keep my armor and swords improoved all the time. By now it os possible to kill fast. And a lot. You also put points in health and stamina since your power attack is the most lethal thing there is. But it costs a huge amount of stamina. I think I went 2-3 Health on 1 Stamina. Restoration is also nice to have for the stamina reg perk and the avoid death. I also recommend to focus on one weapon type and get the waepons perk (Crit for swords, Bleeding for axes and armor ignore for maces) Later in the game you can still pick the others. My char is, apart from DWing most of the time also stealthy, which gets me close to enemys before the fight starts. Even kill some, 30x Backstab Damage with 2 Daggers One-Shots pretty much everything. Even dragons i imagine, if I could ver sneak up on one... :3
  5. You can't say Destruction Magic is underpowered, but for what I think it's only equal when dual-casting and always buying the latest spells at your vendor. At the guide: Very nice. I tried dual-wielding with my ranged-rogue (archery mainly) and got mauled terribly by some bandits si I quickly decided something is wrong (either with me or) with dual-wielding. After reading this thread and a lot of wikis/ other threads on people whining about dual wielding being wo weak, i started to see to be a strong dual wielder, you have to specialize on it. With every perk of your Character. When doing so, you get well rewarded. Otherwise, you will be weaker than two-handed fighting Warriors. Or Sword-Shield-Warriors. Or even thos with the funny light in their hands (think I heard that one from a npc child in whiterun). At least I can't resist saying that using any gramar whatsoever while writing your guides will do a lot for everyone reading it. I haz spoken. Thanks for the guide. Well done. I'll try this out for sure.
  6. Thank you frost, you saved me :) I used both solutions. saveini finaly kept my settings and Fastexit is just great. No waiting or using taskmanager anymore to quit oblivion ^.^ And since I use OBSE even on a for my taste quite vanilla installation (only like 12 mods working) adding something like fast exit was easy :P Yes, I checked the ini in the MyDocuments folder :) Thanks again, Staub
  7. Okay, so after seeing the new Skyrim Trailer for like 2 weeks each day I wanted to play TES. Anything. So a quick installation of Oblivion was made since my old install crashed every 5 seconds and I startet playing. After 2 hours I realized that not only the water looks dull, but there are no shadows and several other issues. I checked video setting and found a quick solution to my problems. Well, thats what I thought. Changing was no problem and changes took effect, but after restarting everything was back so default. Dull water, no shadows and so forth. Turns out, i'm stuck with my setting. I checked the Oblivion.ini for read-only (it's not) and tried serveral methods of starting the game. I think the Oblivion.ini is always written on exiting the game (correct me if i'm wrong) but I always get a crash when exiting the game. Running Oblivion on Windows 7 Home Q9550 Intel GTX 275 4Gb Ram I think this problem has been asked several times allready and I tried using the search option here in the forum, but I failed at finding help. ^.^
  8. Sometimes I wonder how much of an idiot I can be. I played worked and modded Oblivion and everything thereafter for years since its release and I really forgot to check the f****** MyGames/Oblivion Folder for remains of a previous install. omg But I should be happy since this was a problem easily solved. Thanks a lot for your quick answer and this neat guide. It helped me remember... ^^ *leaves to hit his head at a wall*
  9. Yeah, as you probably guessed, my Oblivion doesn't work and I wasn't able to find a solution in the forums so far. Okay, so now for the reason why i post on here. I am unable to fix it myself. Story is, I had to set up a new windows. So after reinstalling and copying over my backup of Oblivion, i had strange grapicall glitches due to missing meshes an textures (I point out it worked here). So I said myself, reinstall it from a scratch. I uninstalled it via System, deleted every ramaining folder and started downloading every mod I intended to use, patched the game, isntalled all DLCs and mods, started it. Intro ran, loading bar appeared - crash to desktop. Well okay, Mod Load Order probably screwed but even deactivating all mods didn't fix the issue. So I tried reinstalling again (deleted everything again) but still it crashes at the same point without even moving a single mod to the gamefolder. Neither with or without patch works. I am courious if by starting up my old backup game I screwed something in windows's registry or something, since I am without a clue why it won't work. Hopefully someone can help me. My system is: Intel Quad Q9550 4Gb Ram GeForce GTX 275 Windows 7 HomePremium x64
  10. I must admit i love Archimedes II :P Although the gun looks a bit too much like a toy but whatever. The impact and the effect is pretty cool :>
  11. Okay, i've been experiencing the bug that uppon firing the Euclid C-Finder the three tracking lasers come down, form up , blink... and repeat without the weapon shooting. That continues until i reload. Happens like... 90% of all the times i tried shooting the gun. And since the script in GECK for this thing goes waaay over my knowledge, i hopefully request a mod that fixes this damn bug. Hopefully someone can help me (and, I am sure) all the other poor wastelandwandering souls.
  12. Yes, i've been experiencing the very same problem too. Taking aim, firing and only the targeting laser com down, nothing more. Happens like... 9 out of 10 times? Reloading at least stops the lasers but again a 90% chance the damn weapon won't fire. Having seen it once (yeah it actually worked 2 times in 20 hours of gameplay, it is so very nice. I don't know if this is the right place to ask but if any modder could look over the weapons script in the GECK, (which is waaaaaaaay over my head for what i understand of the GECK) and maybe find out/fix that?
  13. Don't know if you found this post yet, haven't tried it yet either. But i will. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/182469-shojo-race-endorsements/page__st__510__p__2234732#entry2234732 I'll also add how it turned out. Result is: It works.
  14. Pretty disappointing imho. Even though i can understand it with using console, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and FoNV are games where an often usage of the console "jsut happens to happen". Not necessarily for cheating but for a lot of other things, mostly speed traveling via scaling my Character up (God how often have i died due to a "Rock" i didn't see).
  15. yes because thats what he was asking Impressive first post. okay, i get the points there. i also know that playing the game in the higher difficulty jsut for the reward is not the idea. So lets just say i am curious and i can't wait? ^^ I'm playing it on hardcore anyway since this is exactly what i always wanted for FO3. Primary Needs was a bit too hard for me and i couldn't settle myself on only some of the options, so having a fix setting and even getting a reward is just perfect. It's just that i'd be disappointed if there is really only the achievement to it, especially since in so many countless interviews obsidian didn't tell what the reward would be.
