  1. Yeah..used Vortex...everythig is running except SkyUI ...it cuts off top an bottom on menu.
  2. Well got that collection running, but for some reason SkyUI doesn't work right. It is cut off on the top and bottom. Probably because I'm running Widescreen 2560x1080. Tried Widescreen fix but it wouldn't even start (got some strange $Changeusr message at bottom right instead of the start game menu. From everything I can see the collection seems to be working. The sounds mod seems to want to be configured every time I start which is annoying. Anyone have any ideas on SkyUI?!
  3. That looks just like what i'm looking for..THANKS! Do I need NMM or anything to d/l and install? What is Vortex and do I need to get it first? Also do I need SKSE?
  4. Modded the hell out of Skyrim way back 10 yrs ago. Never really finished the game but played for many many hours. Nexus was a godsend back then and I remember using a bunch of mods and amod downloader/organizer/loader from here. I am sure things are a little different now SkyUI was one of them. I am starting up again and want to know what mods are critical in the areas of: User Interface, widescreen(2560x1080), better textures, gross bugfixes, etc. Not too interested in added content or game modification per se...just better graphics and UI. I realize some of this stuff has probably been fixed in the SE edition but I am running the original Steam version and do not care to dump more money into a 12 yr old game. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get started?
  5. I'm guessing it's the AMD Catalyst drivers. 12.2 had that problem. The latest 12.3 seem to be working ok.
  6. I don't know, but I have seen another thread recently that seems to suggest the LAA flag has been dropped again at some point. There must be a way to tell for sure.
  7. Yup. That ghost horse has caused me problems on my last 3 fast travels. Shows up right in the middle of whatever is going on and totally breaks immersion. If it wasn't for the fast travel thing I probably wouldn't mind as much. And from I can tell there are other creature encounters added without proper documentation. Bottom line is I like to know what a mod is adding to my game. I see there is an optional file that removes the extra content so I will probably be using that or reenabling a past version w/o the extras.
  8. I found an even easier fix. Uninstalled Realistic water and Terrain in NMM and Bubbles is gone...along with any other added content. 8^)
  9. I'm betting it's Realistic Water Textures and Terrain....will know for sure tonite.
  10. Near the back entrance to Darkwater Pass, I encountered a ghostly apparition of a horse. It was named Bubbles and would allow me to ride. Now whenever I fast travel Bubbles appears at my destination with me and then begins to walk back to Darkwater Pass. Even if Bubbles is nowhere around when I start the fast travel, he shows up at my destination. This is starting to get annoying. All my mods are texture mods and I haven't found any info on any of them that indicated extra content. I did read something about Realistic Water and textures adding a mudcrab or something. Anyone know which mod might have added this?
  11. Some people use all sorts of driver cleaners and such, but I simply reinstalled 12.2 preview(or 12.1) and it worked fine for me.
  12. This pixel problem is caused by the AMD 12.2 Precertification device drivers. To fix it you can either reinstall 12.2 Preview (or 12.1) OR turn off AA. I prefer to run with AA (MSAA 4X), so I reinstalled the 12.2 Preview drivers which work fine with no pixel problem. ps. In the release notes for the 12.2 driver it says this under known issues..... "Elder Scrolls - Image corruption can be be seen with Anti-Aliasing enabled on speciic AMD graphics hardware. This issue will be fixed in AMD Catalyst 12.3" http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion122ReleaseNotes.aspx
  13. 12.3 is supposed to fix it when it comes out next month
  14. 12.2 Precertification drivers caused this for me.
  15. I always load up the latest AMD drivers and the 12.2 PreCert is the first one to cause me any problem. Interestingly enough, the 12.2 WHQL certified was just released and I tried it for grins....no artifacts! The release notes do mention that some artifacting is possible in Skyrim and it will be fixed in 12.3. I would recommend sticking with 12.2 Preview until 12.3 comes out to be safe.
