Definitely a good way to get me to try the game. Didn't look super appealing to me at first, but moddability makes everything better.

I'm guessing because I'm not using the default mod location of MO2, I can't import. Importing from instance just finds the empty fallout4 folder that I switched from, and I'm unable to choose the location I moved it to.

Limited Vortex alpha release today, full release soon

I have a feeling you don't need to manually drag and drop esps, because vortex will handle it in such a way that you'll never have to. If this rule system behaves how I think it will, this is gonna make manual load order sorting a thing of the past. If you give a bunch of esps rules that they need to load after other specific esps, vortex will handle the load order so that all of the rules are met. This is essentially all you are doing when you are drag and dropping everything manually, except in a much less intuitive manner. I have faith this will be the new standard. -
In response to post #54705898. #54706813 is also a reply to the same post. Compare the top 100 mods for example. I could browse through a list of 100 items before the redesign. Now the redesign splits this up into 20 mod chunks that I can't even view in proper list style. When you select the "list" view, it's just another tile type view!

Your problem makes no sense. From a fresh install of FO4, there are literally two things you need to do to enable modding. The ini change [Archive] sResourceDataDirsFinal= bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 and installing and using NMM. when it asks you to make your plugins.txt not read only, you select yes. That's all it takes. NMM mod management should work like a charm. The ONLY other issue I can possibly think of is that your game is installed in program files and NMM doesnt have permission to poke around in there. I would suggest reinstalling Steam and subsequently FO4 to your C:/Games folder.

In response to post #35631002. #35631287 is also a reply to the same post. How is one supposed to know what ads are causing massive slowdowns?
-
I'm sorry, but the auto playing video ads are really quite ridiculous. I have a powerful computer. I cant open up more than a few tabs or my browser starts locking up because every goddamn page is playing a video. You NEED to do something about this or that percentage of ad-blocker users is only going to increase. I remember having my ad-blocker on when initially using this site and seeing the message telling me I should support the site and leave it off. I thought, hell, this is a great place, of course I'll turn it off. Let's just say it did not stay off for long. On the other hand, I do admit, It is quite cheap and something I'll probably pay for to remove ads or get membership to support your site. I REALLY love the nexus, but I can't speak for others who are only here to DL their mods and leave. EDIT; My goodness man... I can't check out to pay for supporter. I've paid for a million things online yet my card doesn't work here. EDIT2: It doesn't even take multiple tabs to start locking up the browser. One page opened up to the main F4 page and the scroll wheel doesn't want to respond anymore. You have more issues then just audio ads Dark0ne. Please look into this. I don't want to see this site leave us.

FO3Edit Merged Patch Missing
Swampfox92 replied to MasterCanterbury's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
I had this same problem many years ago, and I was never able to solve it. A guy pmed me this way after I stopped playing, but maybe this is where it is: users/(youruser)/appdata/local/virtualstore/programfiles(86)....fallout3/data if you can't find it, perhaps reinstalling FO3Edit will solve the issue. -
Crashing Issues After Beating the Game
Swampfox92 replied to Swampfox92's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Actually, I figured it out. I must have been playing off of a corrupted save, because I reverted to a slightly older save and everything has been peachy since then. And thanks, I wasn't too sure if those plugins were integrated or not, so I just left em. They haven't caused any problems. -
[sOLVED] Apparently my save was corrupted or something, because I reverted to a slightly older save and everything works fine now. I now use CASM in order to not overwrite previous saves, and to keep plenty of backups. I have about 40 hours on my main save so far, and I've had little to no trouble with crashing up until this point. Of course it crashed here or there, but nothing too serious. After beating the game and coming out of the water purifier, I crash repeatedly, at the earliest right when I load the save, at the latest 1-2 minutes after loading it up. I have a feeling something is conflicting with Broken Steel, but I'm not quite sure what to do about it. I have GOTY edition Specs unimportant Load order: Fallout3.esm Anchorage.esm BrokenSteel.esm PointLookout.esm ThePitt.esm Zeta.esm CALIBR.esm RH_IRONSIGHTS.esm (Paradox Ignition version, which includes all the esp's but the two at the bottom) FOOK2 - Main.ESM FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.ESM Fellout-Zeta.esp Fellout-PointLookout.esp Fellout-pipboylight.esp Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp Fellout-Anchorage.esp SniperZooming.esp Sprint Mod.esp FOOK2 - Main.esp FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.esp FOOK2 - Main [Hotfix].esp FOOK2 - DIK [Hotfix].esp DarNifiedUIF3.esp Auto Aim Fix v1.1.esp Half Scope Wobble.esp RH_IronSights_PL_NewItems.esp RH_IronSights_Pitt_NewRifleSights.esp ImmersiveHealth.esp VeryVeryHard.esp Merge Patch.esp I basically had this whole load order set up, merge patched, and master updated before playing the game. I had no issues until I beat the game and came out of the water purifier. Help!

Thanks a bunch guys for answering! I completely forgot about doing a merged patch.... gotta get on that.

I have looked everywhere on the interwebz, and I can't find how bloody mess applies a 5% damage increase for the player character. It is exactly the type of effect I am looking for. All I want to do for my game is to drastically increase the player character's damage directly (not a half-assed approach like applying the bloody mess perk multiple times and getting rid of the inst-gib crap with a separate mod). Please tell me, is it even possible to modify the PC's damage without using Bloody Mess? And how would I do it?

Why has nobody helped this man! Lol. I'm attempting the same thing at the moment, and I can not, for the life of me, get Shrapnel to work with FOOK. Any sort of assistance or advice would help greatly.

I'm one of those players that's tries to play through Fallout at least once before I start heavily modding it with new areas, weapons, buildings, etc. So far though, I'm sort of disappointed in the lack of a proper player home. I'm simply asking for a modder that could make the Motel Room in Novac a little more pleasing by adding a few lights in there so it's a bit brighter, and perhaps any other small tweaks you may think will make it a little cleaner. I'm not going for compete overhaul of the room here, just spruce it up a bit! Thanks!

This makes no sense to me. When I create a merged patch with FO3Edit, it generates it just fine, and then I exit. It shows that window with the merged patch checked, and I press OK. Finally, when I go into FOMM, it shows no merged patch. I go to my Data folder, and there is no merged patch there at all. FO3Edit continues to show that there is a merged patch.esp when in fact there isn't one. Help...

Ok, I have just started modding, and I'm up to the point in the GECK tutorial where you navmesh the "Vault 74". I save the mod successfully, it shows up in FOMM and I check it, and my game loads up fine. I get in-game and I "COC vault74a" which takes me to the entrance of the vault where I placed the spawn marker. The thing is, as I run through my Vault 74, the game tends to freeze a lot, in fact, EVERY TIME. I have not made a successful run-through of my vault yet as the game will always freeze at one point or another. :wallbash: I've tried turning off various other mods I have, and even turning all of them off completely and starting a new game. No matter what, my game freezes in Vault 74. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks.
