  1. So... ... I got to Point Lookout. Framrate around 40 on the boardwalks (about 10-20 lower than most other places but still within "normal" range). I got to the swamps and framrate dropped to between 20-30 (sometimes as low as 10 when a horde of Ghouls charge at me), which is unacceptable for me. I do have a pretty nice computer (which I, yes, built myself), and I am not a retard when it comes to tuning the game up. I've done all of that, and tested various combinations of... Yada, yada, yada. (NOTE: I run V-sync, because without it I get CTDs about once an hour or so... but my computer can handle it mostly) I started to investigate. Tweaking the properties of vision distance, weather etc. etc. (even modified the HDR and Bloom thingies in GECK) but the framerate remains the same. I got the idea it might be the vast number of trees that had to be rendered in the area, so I tweaked the meshes so the trees went basically insvisible. Gained about 4-5 FPS on that move, but the game looked like dung (see pics). It still wasn't good enough. It has to be 40-60 FPS (I get tearing like mad above 60 of course) to be enjoyable at all. So, the conclusion after turning HDR off, cutting vision distances of everything to minimum, is that it is the F-ing fog that causes it. So... how do I turn the freakin' fog off?
  2. Hmm... Well. I've been looking around and so far no luck with this. Have sent some e-mail to various people (FOSE guys etc.). Oh well. Luckily there are mods for making the hud smaller at least; until this matter is cleared. 8) Gonna keep trying, though.
  3. Okay... Am I the only one fed up with the out of the box animation of the character when he or she is running with a weapon in hand? I mean it does look a lot like he or she has poo his or hers pants... (which could be logical, I guess, but still...) /Jimi
  4. Well, here is a request for all you geeks (and I salute you) to dig into: Can you bind one particular console command to one particular key; example: Console Command: "TM" (Toggle Menus; Toggle Hud) = Bind to key (on keyboard): "M" Many thanks for anyone daring enough to figure this out for me / Jimi
