  1. Hi there! No this isn't a quest mod, although I have some plans to do one down the line, but I need some help with something I thought would be really simple that turns out to be over my head. I like the visual style of the legion that Obsidian was going for, but there are a few key improvements that I think can be made using only vanilla assets. The biggest improvement I wanted to do was to remove the completely opaque goggles from legion headwear. For example, the legion veteran helmet has a sunshade already, why would they need goggles? The goggles IMO take away the human aspect of the legion and adds to the widely held perception that legion in the game are nothing more than simple bad guys to be shot during quests and adventuring, little more than raiders or bandits. Another change I wanted to make was the fact that even though legionaries of old didn't wear anything over their legs from the knees down, the poor character models of New Vegas and the reality of living in an environment with tall cacti would make the notion of not wearing pants seem silly. So, I thought that a simple solution would be to add jeans to all the armors underneath the leather skirts. So here's the brass tacks: how do I go about removing the goggles from the legion headwear? Preferably, I only want to change the meshes so that I don't have to include texture changes into my mod. I checked the headwear in nifskope and the goggles are part of the same branch/block as the rest of the helmets so I can't simply delete them using nifskope. Step two is that a similar nifskope issue arises with the jeans. I want to use the jeans and shoes from the Memphis Kid outfit that the Kings use, but I haven't the faintest idea about how to start. I'm not a modeler/texture artist and am an amateur at best with nifskope, any help would be much appreciated!
  2. So I've been working on a green tint remover mod, and someone suggested going a step further and fixing the intense bloom and eye adaption in the vanilla game. I've tested setting the Eye Adapt Speed under ImageSpace Modifiers to 0 and it only does so much. Looking at the ground outside will still brighten it, and a place like Canterbury Commons with lots of cloud cover has the most ridiculous sky bloom in the whole game where it's hard to make out the clouds at certain angles and it just looks like a giant blob of white and bluish shapes because of the overpowering bloom. Does anyone have any idea how to lower this to something a little more reasonable so that I can see the clouds?
  3. Sounds like Realistic Weapons Damages - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/7865/? is right up your alley!
  4. The only way I know of is as an Entry Point in the perk category. It's called Adjust Book Skill Points and you can find it when you add a new Entry to a perk. It may be possible to adjust this value through scripts as well, but you'll have to do some digging or possibly check out the FOSE documentation for the specific command. Hope that helps!
  5. FollowersHireContinued did not work for me due to weird bugs with having existing companions or a certain karma level, but this mod does! You can have unlimited companions and it also gives options for karma or no karma checks. Better Followers - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/19384/?
  6. This may work for ATI cards as well, but I know for a fact that this works for Nvidia cards. Open up the Nvidia Control Panel, go to manage 3d settings, find fallout 3 in the dropdown list, and change Ambient Occlusion to either performance or quality. This will provide shadows for practically everything and it looks wonderful! Here is a before-after comparison I have taken with Ambient Occlusion off and then on. The performance drop on my laptop is very minimal, but it gives a lot more depth to every scene. http://s4.postimg.org/zbj69tph9/Before.jpg http://s22.postimg.org/4hdqnlma9/After.jpg
  7. I'm scared :( JK, I generally liked redesigns, and this one looks promising. HOWEVER, using the current banners would be much better than the weird logo that is currently being used. Also, the colors are REALLY bright. One thing I will say, The website looks pretty empty and feels like you need to just scroll down forever. One thing I love about the current interface, is that the whole page is filled up but it doesn't feel cluttered. The new interface has massive gaps on the sides that make it look like a mobile website instead of a fully featured community driven site. My 2 cents anyway...
  8. 4GB is all you need. If it is DDR3 and runs at a good range of mhz honestly, you don't need much. RAM is not the biggest aspect of fallout because it doesnt actually use more than 2GB (unless you get that 4GB unlocker mod). And honestly, your computer will not even get to 4GB in a single load. I ran fallout 3, ps4, mw2, firefox with 1080p youtube video, windows media player, and a couple other programs at the same time and I got to 3.5GB load. There is no way you need more than 4GB. It won't hurt to get more but IMO you are wasting your money unless you want to build an ultimate gaming rig.
