I hope someone can interpret the following crash logs into basic English instead of the techno babble that they get written in. >.< Got a crash that just seems random and I don't know what it is or why. Thank you for your time. crash_2024_06_06_23_39_1.log crash_2024_06_07_00_23_1.log

Crash trying to enter / getting near Nellis Array

Except in those mods are some of the best quest mods, like NVB series for example. Only 1 has been updated by RoyBatty but 2 and 3, those will take time * if * Roy decides to do them. I hear Willow has a patch for 3.3 , that's good. But, really, I need to sit down and find newer versions of some of the other stuff. But it's like what is there and where is there, why the start of this post, I list my mods hoping someone will say "Oh! This mod was replaced by this and here it is." since you all are smarter than me. I mean, hell, I moved the install from the spinning rust to the ssd and broke NMM. I tried using Vortex and it totally crapped out on me, even though it * said * it was grabbing the URL links, nothing changed in Win 10's file association settings, and clicking on "Mod Manager Download" did nothing. I went back to NMM and it grabbed the URLs back and started to work like it always has, if I don't change anything. >.< I find if I leave it alone it does a Todd Howard (It just works) and I can enjoy it for years or until newer hardware makes me have to go fix things, like my new RX 6800xt's newer video drivers breaking everything Beth in one go until I wound back the drivers to the last one released in 2023 * then * it all works again as well as any Beth title can be expected to work. But, I do want to update to 3.3 but I don't want to give up some of my mods, like the NVB series, I * love * the story line and game play, it fits so well into a western themed Fallout game. I always use Sweet Revenge in the final show down in NVB III even if I have better weapons. >.< But, as I said, it'll be * years * until Roy is done updating the rest * if * he does the other two. Can't rush things like this, guy has a life and can't expected to be coding 24/7 365, I know that and respect that and so I stick to 2.94 until that gets updated. But doesn't change the fact that I want to update to 3.3 but things are holding me back unless you smart people know of a way to have my cake and eat it to, ya know? -
Well, I do have Edge, aka IE, the browser you use to get better browsers, but, let's see... Oh! I hacked the registry and finally got Windows to comply, thank God. But that still didn't fix it for Firefox and... Quick try before I replied, didn't work for Edge neither, I even logged myself out of Vortex and used Edge to log myself into Vortex just to be sure. Edge popped up saying it needed to open Vortex, I clicked Ok, and nothing, didn't appear in the Downloads or Mod pages of Vortex. * head desks * Damn Windows. If I didn't feel reinstalling Vortex would break everything done so far (I have Starfield installed though it so far, and it went mostly flawlessly) I would have done that long ago. >.<

Ah, there is the problem. I wonder how I'm going to fix it, Windows is only giving two options and neither is Vortex. >.< The switch off the handle nxm links , closing then reopening Vortex, then switching on handle nxm links didn't do it. * hmm * I should note that I still have 3 more games to bring over to Vortex that I'm not quite ready to do so (Fallout 4, Oblivion, Skyrim LE, and Skyrim SE), and the import NMM wasn't working on at least the one I tried (Skyrim SE) so... I rather not uninstall NMM CE if possible. Each game is going to be a tonne of work which is why I am teething on the one game that has to be reinstalled (FO:NV ) as it's broken and needed reinstalling anyway. See if I can't figure out Vortex and get to like it. Ya know?

Oh the window pops up in Firefox, click Download, but nothing is happening in Vortex. Apologies, I should have clarified. >.<

Which version of Vortex are you using? (e.g. 1.8.0) Which game are you modding and which game store did you purchase it from? (e.g. Skyrim SE from GOG) Which mods are you trying to use? What steps did you take before you encountered the error? What is the specific error message you received? (Provide a screenshot if possible) 1.10.8 FO:NV - Steam Almost Perfect - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/60752?tab=files Pretty much, delete my install of FO:NV, let Steam redownload it (as NMM-CE broke it trying to move it from the spinning rust to the SSD ) , created a new Profile in Vortex called Default, reinstalled the TTW files (since that's all manual) through clicking on "Install File" (since dragging / dropping .7z files was giving me a circle with a slash through it), pulled up the first of the Nexus mods on the Nexus page, clicked "Mod Manager Download" and observed nothing happening at all. No error message. I then checked and see that Vortex is set to handle it And checked and Firefox is set to send nmx to Vortex So I tried to restart Vortex, I logged out of then into Nexus in the Vortex app, and nothing, in theory it * should * be working, but when I click "Mod Manager Download" it does absolutely nothing. How do I fix?

So, I downloaded Vortex today, it's version 1.10.8 , my current mod manager, NMM CE , is 0.86.0 btw, and I installed it, ran it, created a new profile for Skyrim SE/AE , went down to the bottom and clicked on the Import from NMM, followed the prompts , it first stated it was only going to import 12 mods which isn't the 68 mods I have installed in NMM. NMM reports : Oooook, fine, I got all the original archives in the NMM SkyrimSE mods folder and those all have the mod # in the file name, so it'd be about an hours worth of reinstalling mods. Not happy but fine. Then it asks me to close NMM then to uncheck all the mods in NMM, frankly that should be the other way around as I had to reopen NMM to uncheck all the mods then close it again but... * shrugs * Then I ran full on into a wall, it refused to continue on from that point. As you can see, everything that can be disabled is unchecked except the mandatory base files that the game won't let you uncheck. But I am stuck at this prompt And if I click "Check again" it just comes right back up again. So... I dunno, weird. I hope it's not detecting the base files as being still enabled as I can't disable those.

Looking for SE / AE mods similar to LE mods, one removes the randomness of the Thieves Guild side jobs (From Delvin and Vex) , allowing you to chose what city to do the job in. The other is the Elys Uncapper, so I can tone down the amount of exp per skill level. If I train with someone I don't suddenly gain 15 levels. >.<

Well, it's not * fixed * per se, but I finally dug out the console command "SetPCInfamy" that worked, I can now wear the Crusader armor. >.<
-
Yeah, if I keep an eye on NDPilgrim, the quest that runs and gives you the vision after praying at all 9, stays rock steady at stage 10, doesn't tick up for each Shrine or to 20 to acknowledge I have prayed at all 9, Even if I nudge the quest up to 20 and get the vision, it doesn't clear my infamy. Looking at my entire mod load out in TES4Edit, nothing overrides the Knights.esm except the unofficial patch and even that's only adding Arkay that seems to have gotten forgotten in the original. So I dunno, with nothing interfering it * should * be clearing my infamy so I can wear the Crusader Relics, which I can't do, due to my infamy not resetting or the quest acknowledging I've done the Pilgrimage. >.<

Nope, still crashed. CobbCrashLogger.log0

So I exhausted all the options with the Prophet, went to do the Pilgrimage and since I had 0 fame and 61 ish infamy it upchucked and told me to gain more fame. So I went and did the entirety of the Arena, this got me up to 31 Fame with still 61 Infamy. So I went and did the Pilgrimage, did all 9, got the pop up saying I had completed it, but didn't get the Vision and my Infamy was still 61. So I tried again but got a pop up saying I needed more fame. First I did a quick Google, only seen one other say that they had the same issue and Auto Leveled Item mod (and two others, forget which, I don't have them installed, never did ) is what broke it. So I uninstalled that, rebuilt the Bash Patch (since Auto Leveled Items was included in it), then I did one mission for the Fighter's Guild, gained 1 fame, repeated the Pilgrimage , got though all 9 , no pop up saying I did the Pilgrimage, and if I try one of the others again I get the same pop up saying I need to gain more fame. So I went back to the Prophet, made sure all conversation topics were indeed gray (I had discussed them with him), one more mission for the Fighters Guild, redid the Pilgrimage, same results, no pop up saying I completed it and no Vision. Uh... WTH? How do I bloody well start this quest? My Mods and their Mod Order

Oh! Installed. We'll see how long I get with it installed. Thank you. Hopefully this'll fix the issue. >.<

I have Engine Fixes installed. Ah ha, caught it in a crash, if anyone can interpret the Cobbs Crash Log, can you please tell me what caused it? Thanks. CobbCrashLogger.log0

Used Loot, yes. Umm, actually... Bah, it erased that log, I didn't even think of it, as I just installed CobbCrashLogger. But my last session I saved and closed normally, earlier it had crashed. As for mods, no, I haven't played it in a few years, but it should be the same as before, just I upgraded the system, now I run an AMD video card, a rx 6800xt , but with the drivers released in December, the newer ones broke the Beth titles and I had to downgrade to that before they worked. >.< Oh! To explain, when I first ran FO:NV (TTW) it auto detected the new card and set the wrong renderer in the renderinfo.txt file so no hair rezzed and stuff like that. Once I downgraded on a hunch, it redetected my card and set the right renderer. Yay AMD! Pardon the sarcasm. >.< Since then I've played FO:4, Skyrim, and now Oblivion and no issues like that, so I keep the drivers the older ones until AMD can fix the problem. But it's acting like it's running out of memory, the ENBoost has helped with that, but it'll still CTD unexpectedly while teleporting or going though a door. I use a Cell Buffer Purge mod so maybe heap? Dunno. I thought the Engine Bug Fixes was suppose to handle that. O.o I do know some website had given me a bunch of memory settings for SKSE which helped Skyrim, but I have found no such info for OBSE. And I don't want to assume, since OBSE is now handled by someone other than the Silverlock team unlike SKSE, that those settings are the same between the two, and Skyrim is a different engine than Oblivion. Umm, let me see... My SKSE settings, FYI
