I just reinstalled Oblivion. Kind of. I have the GOTY CD version, but my computer has no CD drive. My solution was to make ISOs of the CDs an a laptop, then transfer those, mount them on a virtual drive, then install. SecuROM wouldn't let me. Okay, second attempt. Install Oblivion on the laptop, then transfer the installed files. I even tested the ISOs to be sure they'd let me launch Oblivion using them, and it worked just fine. I transfered everything to my desktop, mounted the ISOs, and launched. The intro movies played, but froze after the last one. I had to kill Oblivion via task manager. That happens every time I try to launch, no matter what else I do. I get the same thing every time. It's in a custom, non-program files location. Compatibility mode does nothing. Run as administrator does nothing. Deleting Oblivion.ini does nothing (even though it was never modified in the first place). Trying different graphical settings does nothing. I only have one monitor, so it's not a dual monitor problem. No-CD patch? That doesn't work either. At this point, I've run out of ideas. My best guess is that this is related to my inability to do a proper install. I'm out of ideas on things to try. System specs: Windows 7 64-bit i5 @ 3.4ghz 8GB ram NVIDIA GTX 760 No CD drive
