  1. I think that's done it!!! Thank you sooo much. Now I'm off to go one by one install my previous mods - so until I encounter my next incompatibility, thank you both for your assistance and take care!!
  2. Hi there, thanks so much for the quick response. My current hardware is as follows, GPU: GTX 770 2gb, and 16gb of corsair RAM. I'm no longer using my old load order as I've re-installed the game and am now working off of a clean vanilla installation. As such I have not added any mods other than the ones I previously mentioned (COT, SkyUI,ELFX, MemoryBlocksLog,SKSE). I've also disabled SSME since reading your post - thanks for the tip. I do currently have the Project ENB preset installed for testing purposes however I am relatively familiar with the installation and removal of different presets. It's worth noting that the crash only occurs when I have a modded preset installed, however when it's just the default ENBSeries files without a modded enblocal.ini it runs perfectly smooth.
  3. Hi all, I wouldn't quite consider myself a novice with ENB's; i'm quite comfortable with their installation and understand how to meddle with values, however I am far from familiar with the nitty gritty stuff or exactly how they work. I have nearly 600 hours logged into skyrim on this machine alone and the vast majority of that has been with an ENB successfully installed. The issue I've been experiencing has only surfaced in the past few months and it has completely prevented me from further enjoying the game. Currently, every time I kill anything, from troll to dragon to skeever to town guard, my game will CTD 30 seconds later. I've tested and replicated the crash in a number of different scenarios including killing guards at various cities, killing wolves, skeevers or frostbite spiders on the road, and bandits both above and below ground - even in the "qasmoke" testinghall. After starting with a list of nearly 150 some odd mods, I've slowly whittled away at ALL of them to the point of completely re-installing vanilla skyrim. As I was 1 by 1 re-installing mods, I noticed that the basic enbseries files don't have the same effect, only ENB presets seem to be causing the crashes. At the moment I am only running CoT, ELFX, SkyUI, MemoryBlocksLog, and SSME while testing various enb presets, No texture mods, no additional content mods. After mindlessly droning at this issue for nearly 3 months I believe I have completely exhausted my minimal knowledge base and I'm desperately seeking advice from any of the brilliant modders here on the nexus. Please feel free to message me if you have inquiries or would like further details on the situation. Also feel free to post any wild ideas you may have, I'll gladly consider any advice anyone else has at this point ;) -Thanks a bunch!!
  4. Sir, with a single hand you have saved my monitor and my hair. Thank you sooooooo much.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm about to start pulling my hair out over this issue I've been having with this little armor mod I've been working on. To say I'm a novice at modding meshes is a gross understatement, and I'm hoping with all my heart that someone infinitely wiser than I can provide me with some answers. I didn't think what I was trying to do was going to be so frustratingly difficult. I wanted to take the hood from the Skaal outfit in Dragonborn and add it to the scaled armor mesh. I did some homework and found out how to import a mesh from Skyrim into Blender so that I could get rid of the body part (coat pants etc) from the Skaal clothes, and then slightly reshape the base of the hood so that it would fit over the exposed neck/chest area of the Scaled Armor without clipping. Afterwards I exported it and re-opened it in Nifskope where I re-added the BSLightingShaderProperty to the objects in the mesh. After further reading I decided that it would be in my best interest to just copy the hood block from my new mesh and paste it into the original Scaled Armor mesh. So I deleted both the NiTriShapes of the armor and the body from my modified mesh and then removed all the remaining "bogus nodes" in order to identify the necessary bones that the hood itself used. I then double checked the original armor mesh to make sure that it had the same 6 bones (and it did). So after re-naming the modified "root node" to match the original mesh, I copied the hood's NiTriShape block and successfully pasted it into the original armor meshes (both _0 and _1), proceeded to rename them, and then my luck ended. I opened up a new instance of the creation kit and proceeded to open up ArmorScaledCuirass so I could use it as a base for stats and what not. I selected HideCuirass02AA and replaced the biped model with my modified model which appeared in the "Model Data" window flawlessly and hit "OK" until I was back at the window to edit the name, weight, value etc. I re-named it's editor id to "ArmorHoodedScaledCuirass" and tweaked it's weight, price and armor points to where I wanted them. I decided it would be best to test it on a character in a preview window rather than fire up Skyrim and see if it was working. So I made a "dummy" female high elf and placed the armor in her inventory, but when I checked the "Full Preview" box, I received and error message saying, "MODELS: Bad w-array value for 'armor\hide\f\HCuirassHeavy_1.nif'. Value on shape 'FurHood01' (the name of the hood's NiTriShape block) was 0 but should be in the range of 30-62." I clicked OK and the preview showed up, the armor was showing just fine, but no hood. I've since searched high and low for any information on this "w-array value" and how to modify it to fit within the parameters, but to absolutely no avail. I've only come across roughly 3 pages that even mention it and none go into any sort of detail as to what it is or how to fix it. I'm about ready to put my fist through my monitor, so please... to anyone with any information on this... PLEASE help me figure this out so that I don't end up $350 in the hole with possibly a broken hand.
  6. Thanks for responding, I tried but that didn't seem to help, I don't have enough knowledge on the subject to be sure but I don't think it's a problem with effects. It literally seems to be loading an entirely different texture once it reaches LOD, both alpha and reflection respond differently, the waves even flow in a different direction.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm at a total loss here and I'm really hoping someone with more experience can help me out. I've only been modding skyrim for a few months now and I'm not entirely sure weather or not there's supposed to be a visible difference between loaded water and LOD water but I'm definately having an issue. Any water beyond my initial load distance has a completely different texture than the water near me so any time I get any sort of altitude above a body of water it becomes completely immersion shattering. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to solve it? For the reccord I have already tried uninstalling WATER and that didn't help, I still got the strange shift in textures even with vanilla water so I'm lead to believe it's something else. 8. Hi, I'm working on a samurai mod that includes many new models as far as armor, weapons and buildings. I am pretty good at modeling but I am absolutely terrible at texturing and i was wondering if anyone who is good at it could help me. If you want to help or you're just curious please don't hesitate to ask about anything.
  9. Hi, i recently modeled a ton of new bows but I'm relatively new to bows. I have absolutely no clue how to animate them, i looked at Windy's Bow Morph tutorial and it offered me no help. I would be extremely happy if someone could explain the process of animating a bow to me. For the record I do have a basic understanding of nifskope. Thanks
  10. got it figured out, i wasn't making my maps powers of two so thanks anyway.
  11. I have been having issues lately with custom textures, made by me, not downloaded. When ever i make a texture in gimp and then try to use it in nifskope, the texture simply does not appear. on some rare occasions it does work but the majority of the time it doesn't. For the record, any textures i download or the ones from Bethesdas' BSA show up fine, it's just my textures that won't work. if anyone knows how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Hi, this has been a long occuring problem of mine since I first downloaded the Mystic Elf Race and has become the same with all other custom races accept the ones that I make. Whenever I try to make an NPC Out of a custom race that I downloaded, the NPC does not show up in game. I have had problems with every custom race I have downloaded and I have not seen any previous posts (other than mine) that have even mentioned the same problem. If anyone has ANY idea on why this is happening or how to fix it please tell me.
  13. Hi, just curious if anyone could make this suit of samurai armor for me, (http://www.japanese-armor.com/images/products/lrg/ja-36-lg.jpg) I currently can't because i'm having some technical difficulty with nifskope. It doesn't need to be an exact replica, just accurate and the textures don't need to be even close to that intracut. Anyone that can come close would be appreciated. Thanks. EDIT: Moved from General Oblivion to File Requests
  14. Hi, I've got a couple issues with making a custom race NPC in oblivion. For example every time i try to make a mystic elf npc in the construction set it starts out fine, but when i save the mod and use it in game the npc doesn't show up. So i go back to the construction set to see what is wrong and when i look for the character in the npc list, it doesn't even show that i have made an npc that is a mystic elf (meaning it doesn't show up... ever) Again it show's up as soon as i make it and stays there for the rest of the session but when i reload the mod in a different session on the construction set it doesn't show up. As a side note, no custom armor or weapons show up in game either on an npc that i created out of any of the basic 10 races unless i make it weigh 0. Does anyone know how to fix either of these problems? P.S. feel free to ask me any more specific questions about either problem, I know this is a mouth full. Thanks
  15. Thanks too all of you, so far most of the problems i have been having have been solved so once again thanks.
