Areed with the vaults. I mean, we figured out lead wasn't affected in the what- 50's I think? So, who's to say other possibly even cheap materials couldn't be used to make vaults? Also, I don't know if this helps, (and it prob doesn't lol- I'm not THAT much of a scientest) but it was saying under CERTAIN condidtions ghouls could be made- mutation as said, can happen fast, so it's theoretically possible. As for Megaton, the people did need a home, so they could've had up-keep for the crater, possibly making it deeper. Also, when it comes to the EMP stuff, if the machine is turned off- as said- then how did the vaults work whenever the bombs had just hit?? If the people had just gotten in the vaults and they had just closed- the bombs hit- then how were the vaults power not shut down? It's steel- not EMP proof, lol. Certain things we will never know, but some of it's possible- thats good enough for me. That's my 2 cents, I do wonder how ghouls would be made though...... :thanks:

Agreed csb on the currency part, but remember, it is a surrogate system, and those usually aren't adopted over such a large portion as the wasteland. I can see if the society were more developed, but were STILL worrying about famine in the wasteland, etc. Thus, a currency used nearly statewide would be a stretch in itself, although, it does seemingly work in the wastes...

Wasteland Crimes "Recruiting and Plannings"
devdrago12 replied to Waugriff's topic in Fallout 3's Mod Ideas
I may not have the GECK, but I could provide a fresh mind of ideas, if need be. I'm working on tonys mod to, but I have nothing more to do than think about inprovements to things. If you're interested, just P.M. me or whatever, and best of luck to your mod- the concept sounds REALLY cool. -
The guy from Farming Bob might be able to help you pull it off if your looking for help from a specific person. As far as the plants go, the greenhouse thing would be really useful, and using a gardening tool, (hoe, rake, shovel) you could also be able to dig plots! I know they already have a animation for it. However, if you get the greenhouse, you could get/farm more types of seeds, and also let them grow larger/more food output. The land plots would probably require a small feild in town or something, so as not to mess with vanilla ground. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seed list: cattail seed- must be harvested from cattail in Oasis. (prob near a tree in some boggy looking place) days until maturity: 4-6 days with land plot 3-10 days with greenhouse food/ items harvested: 1 small,(3-5 days) medium,(6-8 days) or large (9-10 days) cattail stalk(edible). And 3 irradiated gel(edible) for each 2 days grown. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SilverSword leaf- must be transplanted onto a flower pot bought from genral store- found a few places in the irradiated wasteland (there are pools of radiation in the wasteland, placing these near those, like willows to water would be best.) Days until maturity: 10- 12 days with land plot, and with green house- 10- 20 days. food/items harvested: 20 silversword stabs for base, and 5 per day after. Stabs are used for selling, or cooked into irradiated gel. (1 gel for each 5) You also get 1 Silversword core, wichcan be used as a weapon, and could be cooked into silversowrd steak stick(also edible) This ALSO comes with silversword roots, (10 of them) once you gather 100 in your inventory, the next time you wait/sleep, you will atuomatically get a silversword suit. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HERBZ: Garlic: found in local stores and in wasteland. (found in/near paradise falls- there is a small bit of grass there if memory serves, and thus, a O.K. place to put an O.K. plant.) Days to grow: 1 day in plot, 1-3 in greenhouse harvest: 1 or 4 garlic (9-10 in greenhouse{second branching stalk connecting to main stalk}) (edible, useful in many recipies for the store from sage so it would seem) Also grants an unedible stalk, used for selling/ misc. and same with 1 top bulb. (garlic is bulb/root dummy!) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clover: found in various places in the wasteland Days to grow: 20 hours 20 hrs- 2 days in greenhouse harvest: 10-13 clover in plot, 10-19 in greenhouse (there mutated, remember!) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VGGIEZ: (Agaricus) Mushrooms: on dead body in front of town, (the one were making/creating) the only gimmie veggie. Days to grow on plot: 1- days in greenhouse: 1-5 Harvest: Since many mushrooms roots grow for miles, around 5-20 mushrooms, with 10 mycelium strands. (mycellium are roots.) Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agaricus_bisporus ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Shiitake) Mushrooms: Entrance of Lamplight caverns. They are supposed to have mushrooms there! (would be useful to have them growing on dead logs.) (even tho these are different kinds.) Days to grow: same as Agaricus, exepct REQUIRES a dead log, which can be purchased or found. Harvest: 3-5 shiitake mushrooms, and 1 mycelium strand without a greenhouse, and with, 5-15 mushrooms, with 2 strands. link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiitake ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Coprinus) Mushrooms: near entrance to Oasis/oddball place. (these things grow on gravel roads for petes sake, trust me, you have A LOT of elbow room on this one) Days to grow: 5 hrs. DIE AFTER 10 MORE HOURS Harvest: 1-12 Corpinus mushrooms on plot, and 12-20 on greenhouse. link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprinus_comatus ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All plants give 1-2 seeds after death/collection, and with a greenhouse, 4-6 seeds. Mushrooms, as an exeption come up with 10 seeds AT LEAST. However they wont heal much, but you could turn them in to sage for something better, I suppose. I'll work on that concept later. Anyway, I'll make more here soon- I ma be bursting with Ideas, but I don't want you to be overloaded, lol, plus this takes some research so, that too. Anyway, :thanks: for letting me say my ideas.

Yeah sort of. I'm helping Tony the Wookie on his mod, involving plants. Pretty much, you mostly described it in a very simplified way. Like farming bob, but with herbs/ivy. No one has mad Ivy, Herbs, OR shrubs, so this is like that, but with other plants. Since this is a fiction game, that gives me Leeway, and the fact that confirmed by canon sources the entire climate, and map of the Earth was canged in an instant. So, D.C. is now a desert, but as people have lived here 200 years, the soil is not virgin, allowing you to grow desert plants, and normal pre-war cash crop/plants. This allows you to have more leeway and make sence. Mostly all I want is herbs like garlic, and clover in nature, and the ability to plant them. Same with Ivy, allowing it to grow on poles for a bonus to health, or just on the ground. I was thinking for you to be able to make a poison out of the leaves of poison Ivy you harvest, and to make a poison for darts. Besides why were darts pre-poisoned before the war? Especially if wastelanders didn't have access to poisons in the first place? Plus the ability to have weeds in you gardens as they develop and mature, and even use weeds to your advantage! Like making raiders have to eat, and ruining their food, and whatnot. But, one of the cooler ideas I think would work, is to make your own greenhouse, and use that for plants, and even marshy plants like rice, and cattails. (yes you can eat cattails.) Quote from google search: cattails. credit to: Cattails (Typha species) "Note: Collecting shoots will cover your hands with a sticky, mucilaginous jelly. Scrape it off the plant into a plastic bag, and use it to impart a slight okra-like thickening effect to soups. The shoot provide beta carotene, niacin, riboflavin, thiamin, potassium, phosphorus, and vitamin C." Thus the shoots are edible and the gelly, for 2 different harvests. And for shrubs, theres the silversword from the desert: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haleakala_Silversword and for other shrubs: (some of which would be cool to harvest from) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vinca http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyme http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloe That's mostly all I can think of now. (not really, lol, but that will be good for now.) However, I'm helping tony with all these ideas, so he'll most likely use this in his mod, to create a small town. In fact, if you want, you could join the cause: http://agdt.freeforums.org/index.php anyway thanx for reading all of this.

If anyone seem interested, I'll post more details.

A request for someone to be able to plant various wild plants. I'm aware that there is a mod that can let you plant trees, but I'm talking ivy, and herbs, etc. Just to let everyone know, I DO NOT have the geck, FO3 on the computer, and the proper equipment to make this mod. I'm sort-of waiting till' I can buy it, lol. Besides, the GECK is prob. like reading alien to me, I understand words not numbers. With that being said, go wild- I'm just trying to improve the community, even if I don't have FO3 for PC. (I do have it for xbox though.)

This: lol, thats great: "do you want this man to live?" "yes,-" "then turkey *ban* it!" Added to favorites, lol. But I have to agree, that is un-realistic. However, when it comes to stimpacks it is VERY realisitic. Its amazing some of the things stim cells do. (yes stim- stimulation or stim cells.) People have already gotten stim to re-create fingers. But, other than that, the aid section of all of fallout 3 is un-realistic, in real life, I don't think ppl would be chowing down on a thing of ham while getting shot at to clear that bullet wound, lol.

Moments that made you feel like a god...
devdrago12 replied to TotallyNotToastyFresh's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
I had like a uber modest god-like moment. I was killing lurks with my baseball bat and shotty, (yes I use baseball bats on lurks) and as the first heavily crippled lurk bull rushed me, I went into vats and selected shoot face twice. He charged me sending me flying backwards like 2-3 yards, and I shot. In that moment of epicness, I sware to you it was like a movie. I can imagine vin diesel flying backwards with a shotgun in his hand between his legs flying backwards as the lurks face was just destroyed, as if someone had set a grenade in his face and exploded it. The type of matrix moment, where you just barely live and everyone is amazed, both of us had at LEAST 7 feet between us after that 2 seconds. -

Good deeds american style... lol, and to xtrogdorx, they made a mod for killing Braun. Now for torture.... MWAHAHA..... srry too much invader zim, and pinky and the brain. :whistling: (Q:What now? A: We will take over the world! :ninja: ) -
Yeah, the nuka cola corp. wanted to take the economy secretly, and already have. No one even knows they rule, and enclave and BOS are duking it out while the weaken. Meanwhile hidden deep below the factory, (hidden) is a rich iron deposit, near where the CEO vault of nuka cola is, so they can still make bottle caps. Also, having perfected nuka cola clear so as to brainwash every citizen of the wasteland to do their dirty work. At least, that would be my addition. (plus mor nukalurks.)
-
Lol someone needs to make a mod out of what PerroLoco53218 just said, like a hidden nuka cola factory/vault. (I know a factory already exists) I can't find a better possible explaination, he took every idea scrap I might've remotely had and made a genious story, maybie even a mod down the road. Plus, people started using it as currency so caps are in containers too.... anyway- grats!

-
cool ideas, especially the garden thing.but what you really need is a crossbow that shoots hammers. "you need to be shot with a hammer!" P.S. I only have ideas, since I don't have the acual game for PC, but I can at least help make ideas. Also, can we post our own ideas??

"and finally, why did people blame Mrs. Rockwell for the murder of Ms. Simpson, when i beat her to death with the rolling pin out in the street in full view of everyone?" 1: lol 2: The developers must have forgotten that you might beat her up on the street, for the game reason. For lore though, mrs. Rockwell wanted to kill ms. Simpson in her diary, so people automaticcally thought she killed her. "how is it that everyone is fooled by the simulation, when the culdesac they live on has no outlet? its a closed circle." *spoiler* :thanks: _______________________________________________________________________________ :thanks: 1: Braun has brainwashed everyone in the simulation- they don't know apples from oranges. 2: Again, more punishment to the developers. "BAD Intellegence BAD!" -
Yeah, no hurt in exploring. There are a few glitches on the FO3 wiki I have found though. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lost_Initiate like if you go through some metro tunnels the quest will be activated and main charicters of the side quest die, but that's very unlikely, 1, and 2- the quest only gives xp and caps- so no harm done. The only thing you REALLY have to look out for involving glitches is shalebridge. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Shalebridge A direct quote from the wiki: "...The latter two are rival ant colonies. It is considered to be the most bugged (no pun intended) area in the game." There are many fatal bugs in this area (lol) involving save corruption, CTDs, (these aren't even fatal :verymad: ) and an nearly impossible unamed quest, if you wish to collect certain items. However it may seem that these bugs may DEFINITELY affect your game, I haven't even encountered them, I didn't even know shalebridge existed until I went on the wiki. I'm going through my sixth/seventh ( ) playthrough (I lost count :wallbash: ) and am still glitch free. In fact, I haven't even downloaded any mods yet, and I'm still finding new stuff! Anyway, thanks for reading this wall of text, cuz I usually like to get detailed in giving informatin, glitches, etc. out there, so have a nice game! P.S. what kind of spaceship was it?? If it came from the sky in a huge explosion, then it could've been the "Firelance Event", a special encounter where you get a uber weapon called the firelance. "wow the raider just fell apart!" :whistling: P.S.S. first post- WOOT
