  1. The wait is finally over. I will be buying this, this weekend. Thank you Bethesda for coming through.
  2. First of all I never said the vanilla out of the box game was bad, nor gave any kind of review of it (other than saying if it's anything like it's predecessors, and other work Bethesda has produced, I expect it to be good.) But the fact of the matter is Bethesda giving it's consumers the ability to truly mod their games is kind of their hallmark, and this should not be an afterthought, it should be a priority. I get it, patches break unpatched mods, so indeed it is prudent to wait a bit before releasing the toolset (I guess), but it's been more than a bit... See the date of this original post... moders have been waiting for quite a while already, and to talk of DLCs before releasing the toolset? That just shows it's not a priority. To the guy who said there is already a lot of mods out there? Mesh overrides and what not are not mods. If that were true games like GTA, and the Witcher would be considered moddable, and they are not. Not in any real sense anyways. Real mods are exactly what one of the above posters alluded to and involve scripting amoungst other things. Things that are not currently available in FO4, but typlically are for Bethesda products. And to the guy who was like "nobody cares" um... You know what website you are on right? Mods are kinda Nexus' and it's communities' thing... Oh an to the haters... Not sure why you are hating on me... For wanting to put pressure on Bethesda to step up to the plate with this? Again it's part of what separates their games from a lot of other developers out there. I am a fan. And as such expect the same attributes in FO4 that have made me such a fan of many other of there games. Do you really think I am asking too much? Or maybe it is you haters that really don't know what you all are missing? Just because you are ignorant as to the quality and potential of this product, doesn't mean I am. WAKE UP, this should be a priority, and it's past due.
  3. No s*** Shirlock. I will be waiting until they release the GECK, or not buying it at all. No thanks, it's pretty much just a re-re-release of FO3 with slightly better graphics, and some other functionality built in. Plus a "brand new story". But with half the playability/fuctionality due to the lack of a GECK. I am all in on this. It's either release the GECK, or I am not buying it, and subsequently I am not buying a single one of their Down Loadable CONtent either.
  4. Yes really. I never said DLC didn't offer a lot. In fact quite the opposite. You quoted me, despite the fact that you didn't have to because you were responding directly to the message directly above your response. You seem to be missing the point. Not sure why? Or what your agenda is? That you seem to be pushing DLC over the release of the GECK? I am not s***ing on DLC, just saying we are overdue of the GECK. And to further my point. I will not be buying any DLCs (not to mention the original game) until the GECK is released either. Not going to happen. Sure you can sell some DLCs with out releasing a GECK, but I guarantee you that you will sell a whole lot more if you make this available. "I am not a pretty boy"- Ani Difranco
  5. You got that twisted my friend. The DLCs make the company more money. So of course that's "higher priority", people months ago were already like "I already put in 300 hrs into this", and that was back in December... I am pretty sure they are buying and playing other games now. Modding truly extends the life of the game. THIS should be a priority, releasing the GECK. It not only extends the life of the original game, but also all DCLs. And not only that, also fuels interest in them. Mods can only do so much, DLCs build on modifications, and vice versa. It's reciprocal, and mutually beneficial.
  6. Still haven't bought this since still no GECK release. Diehard Fallout fan here, played and bought 1, 2, 3, "3.NV", but just waiting for this to come out before I drop my hard earned cash on it. Don't get me wrong the vanilla game is great out of the box (or I expect it to be if it's anything like it's predecessors, although NV was a pretty big let down because it was pretty much a DCL release of FO3 with a bunch of co-opted community mods with cooperate fine tuning, but hey, we don't get paid for modding and most of us don't expect to. We as the consumers of the product (including modders) just like having the capability [it's one of the things that separates Bethesda games from the bulls***], and I am speaking both as a player, and a developer (on other platforms.) Still waiting... Hey I guess the benefit is, if/when they finally get around to releasing this, and I subsequently do finally buy it, the price may have come down?
  7. I was glad Bethesda took over Fallout. I played it since Fo2. You remember that 2 dimensional s#*!??? But I really became interested in it when Fo3 came out. Post apolypitic world, that players can actually modify to be somewhat realistic. And by that I mean can do stuff regulated game developers can't (e.g. wh*%# houses, real drugs, real violence, ect...) What do you think the apocolypse is going to look like? My Fo3 mod is super realistic, and dirty as earth. What do you think an apocoplase is going to look like? And it's only like that due to the toolset that was released, and the creative endevors of Bethesda's consumers. Sky rim is just as popular for the same reason. I just never bought, or played that because this is much more up my alley. Some of the best mods I remember from Fo3 were, the soundtraks, crazy adult posters, strippers and hookers (you think sex won't be an important part of an economy in a post apocoliptic world???), awesome graphics upgrades, realism mods, weather mods, equipment changes, appearance changes, scripts, ect... and I could go on and on.... Moding this game is the best thing about it (other than the ability to share it.)
  8. No offense to the original game or the original "modders" of the game, but no. One of the best aspects of this franchise is the ability to truly mod it. I was gonna buy one game this december, and I didn't buy FO4 (despite my love for the franchise) for the simple reason that they haven't released the tool set yet. It's apparently an afterthought. Once it becomes a forethought, or at least presentthough, I might actually buy it. Until then.... still rocking Fo3, and even FoNV, or NWN 1 (if I am looking for online) Fo4??? Yeah it looks nice, but don't get it twisted Bethesda, one of the biggest draws to your games are what players can do with it, that you can't . So until you give the power to the players/consumers like previous generations, I will not be buying this game. But I am looking forward to the day when I can buy this game and experience something better than previous fall outs (both from the original developer, and it's community.)
