  1. Although I was never into Fallout2, that's an amazing achievement! It's so professionally done, and I've got to say it's almost worth reinstalling Fallout2 for...
  2. Bought the Unreal Anthology, which comes with every game minus UT3. We did a module at College to do with level design using Unreal Tournament, and I've made many maps for UT2004.

Personally, I prefer Unreal Gold to all the others. But there are so many multi-player FPS games out now that it's outdated, the same as UT & UT2004. We tried to do a LAN game when our lecturer didn't turn up, but we were too used to Halo3 and Gears of War and couldn't play it.

Brilliant game though. Wish they would make a new Unreal rather than another Tournament.

  3. I have a second one for you

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing

    # GameMill Publishing

    # Stellar Stone

    # Truck Racing

    # Release: Nov 20, 2003 (US)

goggle the reviews lol some people give it a 0.5

'Rigism' is a joke religion founded on Big Rigs lol - a perfect example of a game that is so bad that people worship it's crapness. For some reason they published the game pre-alpha...

Saying that, every game Stellar Stone have produced are abysmal. It's actually made me sit back and reconsider what I class as a bad game.

I don't agree that MMO's are bad games - I have never owned nor will ever own an MMO - but millions of people play them regularly; so by that I would have to say they are at least successful.

  4. I'm not familiar with the GECK yet, but as far as i'm aware there's a console command called 'Resurrect' which can bring dead NPC's to life. If the GECK is like the Oblivion CS; you can use this function in a script, therefore resurrect Argyle. Yeah, these would be cool followers, and definitely would fit into the theme of Fallout.
  5. Why not just play your own music whilst playing? If i'm in a bad mood whilst playing F3 I just stick a bit of 'War Is The Answer' on and job done. There's not really much need for a new mod.

Also, Beth probably had to pay to use the songs they did. They're probably still paying royalties to the original artists.

  6. Actually the source engine and the gamebryo are pretty different. Source engine is a much heavier modified version of havok as well as a much more stable version.

Fallout 3 & Oblivion use the Gamebryo Engine, I think the Havok they use is the physics engine. Havok do several engines, including AI and destruction (used in Red Faction Guerrilla) but they DON'T do a base game engine. Regardless, apart from the copyright issue, it depends on what you're trying to import. If it's character models and weapons, you can avoid all the copyright and just make your own - as for gameplay stuff that's hardcoded and probably worth avoiding.

  7. Yeah... but it is HALO 3: ODST, so... yeah. Ill just borrow it off my mate for the achiements and armour then...
From what I heard it was meant to be an expansion pack....

Yeah, it's a good game, I wouldn't spend £40 on it but it's worth getting a pre-owned copy for less. Mainly because none of the cool ODST stuff carries over to Halo 3 Multiplayer or Campaign...

  8. And third---as a male gender ........ (censored)
    Really fighting the stereotype there...

That's one of the main factors which usually prevents me playing as a female characters - the stereotype that you're only doing it to perv. Yes, you would never make an ugly character, and nine times out of ten you would try to make them look hot, but the point is I play as female characters purely to have a break from my usual 'Male Rifleman' character.

I'm doing an Art course, and we are taught to draw BOTH males & females, because it reflects bad on you if you can only draw males. I think that barrier hasn't been broken in games, and we still think if a guy plays as a female character he's a perv.

  9. I agree with the above quote.

Generally, Morality isn't as Black & White as it seems. What's Good to some people is Bad to others. Especially in the case of criminals and murderers, Good deeds make their lives more difficult.

And ultimately, someone wants the Lone Wanderer dead, and Talon just accept the contract. They are the tools - someone else ordered them to kill you.

  10. A harpoon-gun would be quite cool. And you could use the Missile Launcher animations, just have a 2-Handed Harpoon gun. It would be cool if it pinned limbs to the wall like the Railway Rifle.

It's a shame they cut the Pulse Rifle/Pistol and cut the Gauss Pistol from F3. Also, a 'chargeable' pistol would be awesome. Like the Dispersion Pistol from Unreal II, which was a weak but reliable sidearm who's ammo recharged.

Finally, in Fallout Tactics (I'm not sure if they were in 1/2) there was a weapon called the 'Zip-Gun', a homemade pistol. You could make it a custom-weapon, and if at all possible choose which caliber ammunition for it to use (e.g 10mm Zip-Gun or .32 Zip-Gun).

  11. Mainly Australia and Neutral Countries. Most games demonise the Middle East (most 'Desert Storm' themed games), the smaller European countries (Rainbow Six and COD4) and Russia.

At one stage the only decent FPS games middle-east gamers could play involved playing as an All-American soldier killing middle east people.

It's why I usually stick to Sci-Fi games like F3 and Gears of War 2.

  12. I've played Arma II on the PC and I really didn't like it. Graphics were pretty poor (even on my mates PC which can run Crysis & F3 on High) and the gameplay was just annoying. But, saying that, the whole concept of it was good. I'm just not a fan of 'uber-realistic' army games.
  13. I don't believe that RE5 is a true horror game. It just has minor elements of horror in it.
Amen. In my eyes, Dead Space > RE5 in every detail, RE5 being a major diasapointment and a horror to control. Dead Space was much better than I thought it would be, I just thought it would be average, but there's so much attention to detail and the controls of smooth and creamy like no other.

If I wasn't saving up for PC upgrades and several new albums I would buy it.

  14. I look for to the Fallout: New Vegas. What is Rage and Halo: ODST about?

Halo : ODST is about ... ODST troops. You're some marines lost in a city, and in general Halo fashion you fight the Covenant. Again.

Rage, as far as I know, is a Post-Apocalyptic shooter, set after a meteorite totalled the earth. I don't know anything about story.

And I really want to hear more about New Vegas. I wish they would show up some Concept Art or Locations.

  15. Rage

    Diablo 3

    Fallout New Vegas

Ditto on Rage and New Vegas. F3 has gotten me into a Post-Apocalyptic mood every since I bought it 8 months ago.

Besides those, Halo 3: ODST and Modern Warfare 2 look quite good. And Fable III, though I fear that's going to be a disapointment like 2 was.

  16. Oblivion did have a level cap, of sorts - you could only level so long as your main skills weren't maxed. I think the best I ever did was L45 before I couldn't level up anymore.

Oblivion had a different leveling system to F3, and to be honest I think Oblivion's level system is worse than F3's. I read somewhere that F3 is meant to be played with multiple characters and not with one single character (I'm on my 5th). Everyone I know who has Oblivion has one character with maxed out stats, and is godlike.

F3's levelling system forces you to stick to a 'class', e.g. if you choose Small Guns you shouldn't change to Melee Weapons half-way through. On Oblivion you could just max out both stats. If there was no level cap you could do the same on F3.

What they should have done is decreased the amount of skill points you get per level, and put more empathsis on multi-level perks (Intense Training for example) and removed the level cap. That way you could reach lvl30+ and still have to think during a battle.

  17. No, you need to finish "Take it Back!" before you get the quest content from Broken Steel.

You will get the new creatures like the Albino Radscorpion and Super Mutant Overlord and the Enclave Hellfire troopers without completing "Take it Back!", and your level cap will be raised to 30 with the new perks becoming available.

Yeah, and when you encounter the Albino Radscorpion and Super Mutant Overlord, you'll wish you'd never got Broken Steel. The difficulty gets ramped almost instantly.

I was disapointed with the whole macho 'Brotherhood v Enclave' war in Broken Steel, and TBH the idea leaves plot holes like this. The Enclave are pretty out-of-context, but I'd definetely miss them if they weren't still in after Raven Rock. Well, maybe if they didn't carry Heavy Incinerators.

  18. It's purely cosmetic most of the time, which I suppose is just to keep the balance and avoid sexism complaints that would eventually come.

I've started my 4th game, and I've decided to be female for once. I would recommend playing as different characters each time - gender and class wise - because it's refreshing. I'm used to being male gunners, so for once I decided to be a female diplomat.

  19. Storyline wise, the Legacy of Kain series takes it hands down.

Gameplay wise, Gears of War 2 has kept me going for almost a year now. And that's just offline play.

Overall - and it's a cliched choice - I've gotta say Fallout 3. Had it 8-9 months and haven't stopped playing it since. That's just vanilla F3 too.
